Bill Nunn’s huge contribution happened from 1950-68 BEFORE he joined the Steelers. Many teams did not have full time scouts especially in the 50’s. Old Courier articles relates teams like the Eagles contacting Bill Nunn to learn about HBCU players. His Courier All-American teams were often the first clue to teams of players to consider who they would draft with late picks. Several are now in the Hall of Fame. Many of these HBCU players would have never played NFL football if not for Nunn’s efforts. His exclusion from the Hall of Fame is ironic considering he worked for the inclusion of these overlooked players.

Sure, nothing like taking about the great 70s Steelers instead of thinking about the Future

If AB didn’t mess things up, we could have had Lynn Swann and John Stallworth 2.0.
