@Tyler That is the bottom line, it was like watching the subtle and not so subtle difference in dance moves between JLo and Shakira during half time. Shakira was much sharper and in better shape. I know she has the edge in age, 43 vs 50. A consideration that amplifies in physical activities, forestalled for so long with extreme work out discipline. However, JLo is obviously good, but there were signs of movement difficulties such as stepping back and making that look smooth. Let’s face it, she is no spring chicken and every great entertainer or sports person reaches the tipping point. I recall when Madonna reached that precipice and from that point on her live performances were either propped up by side dancer distractions or she lowered the difficulty of her routines. Eventually, she began to make a fool out of herself. Happens to everybody even if they work out like mad men/women. Just what they do is ironic, they are working their tails off yet are also wearing away cartilage and stressing their joints to the max. Marshall has lost a step or two, perfectly normal, but in the business of giant money operations, performance is everything because that means more money. Marshall has lived the glory and it’s time for a hard look at his future replacement. BTW, what happened to his emotions at this game? He looked quiet and subdued from what I saw. The Niners didn’t sync well in this off-channel category. Without the hype on the field, which generates positive emotions in the stands, something didn’t feel right about the game. It wasn’t because there was a lack of Niner fans in the stands, plenty of emotional support up there but it fell flat because they had no cheerleaders on the field, the energy was subdued. In a world of contrasts, Marshall didn’t step up on the most important day of the year.

This one stung. It’s been about 26 years since we last won a Super Bowl. Heartbreaking. Joe Staley is probably retiring ringless. I know we’ll win another one in my lifetime eventually but for now. Ouch. Sports. Sometimes, it feels great and sometimes it stings to the core, baby!
I believe Staley gone run it back one last time because this team future is bright
To be honest, this one hurts me more than Superbowl 47. The way our Niners lost the game was painful to watch and unreal. It hurts me to see Joe devastated 😪. I hope my Niners are back on top very soon and win a Superbowl ✨.

As a Chiefs fan, he played a great game until late when he made some mistakes, but he showed some serious guts. Next year could easily be a rematch of this game.

@Bernard pickard Niner fan also, proud to be in the Empire…but you’re totally right. I was a little kid when the Niners last won it all. These years are getting harder now. The Niners need a clutch QB, or at least a mobile QB that can extend plays. Could you imagine if the Niners had a QB that could run? The offense would be unstoppable.

He’s young, and the Niners got a bright future under this guy, I believe he will be back in this stage again. And I’ll say this again, no lead is safe when playing Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

So far he’s definitely no SB QB that can put the team on his shoulders. $130mm is a lot to pay for a check down game manager. You can get Tannehill or Dalton for half that cost.

Mahomes is better hands down
Coming off a torn ACL then going 15-4 in his first full season is a remarkable comeback for any player.
He maybe 28 but he’s still a rookie out there, behind even Mahomes in experience when it comes to games played.
Next season and the one after that will determine if he is our franchise QB, personally it is looking good so far.

Until he does. Nobody assumed he would help bring the niners to a superbowl either yet….there they were. And HE helped get them there against the saints and cards when the running game stunted.
The play that hurt them was that offensive pass interference.
That hurt them. But what KILLED them was suddenly becoming a passing team. Why not run the clock out when you’re averaging 6.4 yds per carry????? Your coach is an idiot.
