@Omar Collins the problem is that will be his 5th year option and then you get nothing for him. 2nd pick in the draft and nothing in return. You CANT extend him after one good year the 3 years hurt.

@Omar Collins it would be nicean but I just don’t see the reason to keep him. You just can’t sign him long term. Even if he has a BIG year you look at his 5 years and you would have 2 real good years and 3 years hurt. You just can’t invest Zeke money in him. So what’s the point? If this was a team contending for a SB I’d get it but it’s not (even though I have more faith than most. With an OL that was just middle of the road THIS TEAM would have won 8+ games) but even if everything turns around and you win say 11 games and are a playoff team… You still aren’t a SB team and he is still gonna get a big deal somewhere if he plays well so you lose him anyway. I just don’t see the upside to keeping him as long as you can get a 2ns for him. You can get an every down back in the 2nd or 3rd. Especially with how backs have been devalued. Just wish him well and trade him to someone willing to take him. If you are getting 4th round offers I get it, keep him cause if he has a big year you’ll get end of the 3rd round compensation. Otherwise… I just don’t see the reason for him to be there when there is no way he will be there the following year.

@stephen2015 he doesn’t run scared at all idk why you keep replying to every comment saying that same braindead comment, if we get an oc who is good at designing, and and actual o line, combined with a great rb and a qb that plays good with protection with good reciving weapons we’re gonna actually be a good offense so getting rid of a generational talent isn’t smart like you say, take the odell beckham trade for example.

Linderbaum and Neal picked are we are such a better team instantly. Then we have them and Thomas and you go out and sign two accomplished vets for the minimum and add experience in a bad cap year and we have a MUCH better team. As anyone who understands football knows first thing you build a team around from the ground up is the offensive line

@Bobby O Rome wasn’t built in a day they need at least 4 Olineman wether they add them through FA or the draft it will take some time to come together but this is imperative to get an offense going

If you can get even a 2 ya gotta trade him. The only reason to keep him is if you think he will help Jones. I don’t see a reason to believe that but that’s it. No matter the year he has you just can’t extend him. He is gonna want big money and someone may give it to him but how can you? If he actually stays healthy and has a good year (doubtful at this point) his resume work be – very good year, ok year but hurt, hurt, hurt and bad and then whatever he does next year. You just can’t give MONEY to a RB that has been hurt 3 of 4 years so far and this year looked to be afraid of contact. One good year giving him 2 out of 5 isn’t a good resume. If you can get a 2 for him (or a 3 and a 3 next year) then just do it. You can get cheap every down backs in the 2-4 rounds. Sometimes later but you can be confident in the 2nd and 3rd that you can get quality.
I just can’t see paying him so get what you can.

Jones will be back and have a big year. Barkley will be gone.
