Matt Eberflus addresses 31-30 loss to Detroit Lions | Chicago Bears – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Amahd Cole

I know coach eberflus can only do so much it’s up to the players on defense

    Jim George

    Got that right!!

    Amahd Cole

    Thank you

Sean Hogan

Johnson was terrible today. Sanborn was real solid. Can’t throw that pick six.

    BaconBitZ2007

@Jeremy Bonk 4 TDs and over 300 yards of total offense is terrible?

    Jeremy Bonk

@BaconBitZ2007 What? I was saying that Jaylen Johnson, our #1 DB, looked terrible. He got burned several times. Our Offense has been great and Fields is the man

    BaconBitZ2007

@Jeremy Bonk my B misread it lol

    shadytoast

@Jeremy Bonk he played through injury, wasn’t great but respect to him for pushing through, would of had our 4th and 5th dbs starting if not for JJ

    Jeremy Bonk

@shadytoast Im saying the same thing. I know he was iffy to play. Its just that he got burned by every receiver Det had. So he obviously wasnt 100%

Some of y’all just DON’T understand after reading these comments. This year is NOT about wins/losses – stop caring!! We now have a proven franchise QB. That’s what this year was about + experience for the new young players. Next year is where we build and add more talent for future winning LONG-TERM success through the draft and free agency. Think big picture – yes the L sucks, yes Justin doesn’t deserve these bums around him BUT wait until next year and the year after that. 32 years of me waiting for a REAL team is about to happen!! 🐻 ⬇️

    BVaccaro88

@chitownBear773 and how was our offense back when Rex and Kyle were at the helm? The most important difference is qb. Let’s see what happens.

    J Michael1837

Fields style is just not sustainable- so the bears need to win now as he is not a pocket passer once he starts to wear down

    My Left hook

We don’t need much at all to improve since we finally got QB1.🎉🎉🎉 i remember the yr with rookie No54 then thing just turn around so quick with good drafting. 🤷‍♂️ this will be easy upgrade.

    My Left hook

@BVaccaro88 exactly .. im sure Poles will drop down for more picks.

    My Left hook

@J Michael1837 you got 3 yrs before you decide to sign him a big contact.
    That ‘s not NOW.. 2-3 yrs. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Sean Stafford

Guys I know Justin looks amazing and it makes us WANT to win now but let’s be honest, a good 80% of the fan base knew that our O Line and Receivers were awful coming into the year already. Our strength was obviously the D but after shipping out our 2 leaders, that wasn’t going to get BETTER. Flus seems to be a good leader of men and I think next year it clicks. Let’s relax, we have over 100M in cap space this offseason and we should be able to build through the draft with Poles first true draft class. Next year is when our window opens, let’s have some patience in the meantime. There are good signs from this team despite everyone’s attitude about it.

    MarcoGlo

@Bob Sokoloski Fields, Kmet, Mooney, Jenkins, Jackson, Jaylon Johnson was good

    MarcoGlo

@Bob Sokoloski but Johnson was getting burned yesterday. The rest are trash lol

    MarcoGlo

@Johnnie Pinkney we don’t have 7 picks in the first 5 rounds

    Johnnie Pinkney

    Yes we do….1 2 3 two n the 4rth and 2 n the 5th…if im wrong i apologize

Trace Rawls

things wont change unless Refs are held accountable and you allow flags to be challenged. but that will never happen. 2 games now that the refs robbed from us

    Mike Lasjo

Not sure I agree with that. Losers make excuses and blame refs. Defense played poorly last 2 games. No getting around the poor play of the defense.

Russell Tolone

Flus can you start fighting for your teammates and argue with the refs about these awful calls? I know it won’t do anything but I need to see some of that

    Thumbnasium Inc

💯the only way to make it stop is to make it go viral. It’s nonstop BS from the refs

Sugimation

What’s so crazy is that we’re a play away from like 6-4.

    R_4_R

@Jonathan which site projections for jets, jags & panthers before the season so i can pull it up. it’s clear we saw 2 different things. talking high draft pick but all is seeing is playoff talk after what the jags did to the colts/chargers week 2/3. they said he got the right coach. jets they got Wilson some weapons to take the next step & they signed some top players on defense before they caught acls in training camp. panthers would’ve a toss up. if the QBs played well the team could make some noise if they didn’t high draft pick. Bears went to the playoffs with avg QB play with mitch. pants had talent on both sides of the ball before the fire sale

    Jonathan

@R_4_R I didn’t count the texans and titans game. I only counted games where a score and an extra point would WIN the game. Meaning both that and the giants game are irrelevant and don’t change the fact that’d they’d have a winning record if they scored or stopped a single TD.

Falcons vs Rams: Falcons came back they’re down 25-31 one score and Mariota throws a pick. They lost either way by one score and the game definitely wasn’t over.

Falcons vs Bucs: There was over 4:30 on the clock bucs had ball and all they needed was a stop or takeaway for opportunity to score. Either way, lost by a score. Game was not over.

Falcons vs Chargers: Every team has injuries, this is an excuse. At the end of the day it is a game they lost by one score.

You haven’t done any due diligence, all you’ve done is either hilariously list some excuse or arbitrary reason why you think a specific game shouldn’t count for “losing by one score”.

    Jonathan

@R_4_R I also just sent like 7 links from CBS, ESPN, PFF, sportingnews, Walter football, PFN, and the analysts at the draft network that youtube just deleted that showed mock drafts before the season started that showed those teams projected as having the top picks. It’s not difficult to look this information up. Why don’t you do that “due diligence” you were referring to bud. Kinda sounds like to me you’re either a pathological liar or you really were paying absolutely zero attention to mock drafts right as the regular season was going to begin.

    R_4_R

@Jonathan you check the spreads for those games? 😂 Falcons came back on Rams because of HOW? did playcalling become conservative to run out the clock??
you brought up 4:38 but you conveniently noticed & left out the Buccs two drives before that, that allowed Falcons to come back. did Buccs play conservative & try to run out the clock instead of run up the score? seems like a theme right? 3 plays each on both those drives,
you can give credit if you want for them being only 1 score games but we both know they played conservative at the end to run out the clock like EVERY team does & makes the game harder to end it playing scary.

that’s your due diligence. they was down double digits both games before the polenta took their foot off the gas & you said that counts lmaoo they wasn’t the favorites & the spread wasn’t close for a reason

    R_4_R

@Jonathan unfortunately links don’t work when you try to post them that’s why i asked for the sites so i can look them up & see what you saw. you can type the dates for those links though

Love this guy

    You love losers?

There’s no denying the defense is in a sorry situation. There is no team leader on that side of the ball. When you’re offense scores 30 or more points a game you should be walking off the field with a win. But also the QB should not have more carries than the running backs. There are 2 very good backs on the team and neither one had more than 10 carries! Plus the bogus calls and none calls by the referee’s is costing us wins. 2 weeks in a row the refs have shafted us.

Joshua Vanderhei

Facing adversity is one thing, but having to go up not only against the opposing team, but also the refs week in and week out is ridiculous. Why the NFL and it’s officials hate the Bears is beyond me, but it’s getting old.

    Kyle Evans

I watched the refs not review a play that was is supposed to be a mandatory review against the Lions a few weeks back. Also they reversed that Tom Kennedy catch which was clean so Bears fan can kick rocks. Enjoy the basement of the division.

    Charleybones

@Kyle Evans agree. No team comes anywhere close to mountain of bs calls that have made against the detroit lions over the past 20 years. Every one of the penalties called against the Bears were replayed and legit.

Javhon Sago

So many penalties. This needs to be addressed, that’s not our football style no more

Bobby Kelly

Thankfully there’s lot really good D Lineman this year in both Free Agency & Draft, shouldn’t
be hard to improve upon that this offseason. My ideal FA signing would be Yannick Ngakoue
I am not really worried bout wins in this season. We‘ll learn how to win close games more we
have them. We are lot closer to success then any of the other NFL teams with 3 wins or less

Sanborn is awesome. Kmet is playing incredible. Fields definitely a star & hasn’t come close
to his potential yet. Definitely alot to improve but got no delusion bout this season. We have
obvious weaknesses, but key building blocks as well. I’d much rather the offense be great &
defense be bad then reverse (experienced that a lot) Fixing Defense in 1 year is much easier
What cost us today is stuff that we are usually good at so I have confidence it won’t happen
again. Double digit penalties, Santos missing, Fields Pick 6 all happening again look unlikely

    Russell Tolone

Are lot of people are projecting us to get Jalen Carter. Man would that help a lot

Raymond Krawiec

Saw this one coming .

ShamrockShawn

Every Sunday watching the game the TV comentator calls the game …”opposing QB’s name …. WITH TIME ….COMPLETE.” Again and again and again. …I don’t know maybe blitz the freaking house once in awhile. …Do something different instead of dying a slow death every game. -This front 4 can not pressure jack squat.

Michael M

This team was projected to win 4 games this year, that’s all. So these close losses are actually the reason why they were only picked to win 4 games. The talent deficiencies of this team are obvious due to Ryan Pace and his lack of hitting on 1st or 2nd round draft selections. The Lions had 3 1st round O linemen against the our defense which doesn’t have a 1st round draft selection. The fact that we were 1 point from tying the Lions who have a ton of high 1st round players on both sides of the ball should give us fans some hope for the future. I do wish that these stupid mistakes that our team makes would stop. How do you hit 40 yard field goals but miss an extra point. Or kick off and it goes out of bounds so they start at their 40 yard line. Santos needs to get his personal problems sorted before he becomes the reincarnation of double doink Parky. And we definitely did not get the better of the St Brown brothers.

foolmenow00

As a loong-time Bears fan…after what I’ve seen the last HELLATIOUS 10 years – count ’em up (after missing p/o’s with 10 -6 record and FIRED coach) of just absolute buffoonery and total chaos from one of THE top franchises, historically, in the NFL, wellll, nobody won’t say it, but I’ve never enjoyed losing so much in my life! ALL of you with EYES can SEE the difference in THIS team, regime compared to the crap we’ve ate for so long. Our future NEVER looked this promising. Is it guaranteed? No, but we got a damn franchise QB in Soldier Fields who IS a warrior!

Mike Thompson

What the hell are you talking about that the defense really did good, good defenses don’t allow teams score 31 points period, we’re you at the game Flus???

Mike Thompson

Why not teach the players to play clean with no penalties of 90+ yards….
