Can’t say enough about how happy I am to see this team so scrappy, or how impressed I am with O’Connell as a Head Coach. He has his players behind him, and that is how you win ball games.
That said, it’s O’Connell calling in the plays.
He says himself that he needs to get better, and he does. He’s struggling after the half when he has the lead keeping his foot on the gas and showing new looks to keep the opposing defense off balance for the rest of the game. He isn’t adjusting to their adjustments.
I have every confidence he’ll get better, as he’s only 11 games in to his career. The fact that he’s 10-2 proves that he’s doing SOMETHING right! I just wish my heart didn’t have to go through his growing pains. lol Seriously Kevin, so glad you’re in Minnesota and so proud to have you as our Head Coach, hopefully for a long while.
Well said but the coach can only do so much. The coach cant control how lousy Kirk throws the ball sometimes or players dropping passes.
@Dee Sam Hey, everybody is human. Mahomes screws up all the time, Favre and Rodgers both turn into rookies if you manage to hit them hard a couple of times early in the game, even Hall of Famers had a lot of bad games mixed in with the good.
For all the good chemistry, Cousins is under a brand new head coach and his 5th Offensive Coordinator in 5 years. He’s never played behind an Offensive Line that has finished ranked in the top HALF of the League in any of the years he’s started. In fact, the best he’s ever had statistically is this year where they currently rank 17th. He’s hanging in there and taking hits from hell every game. He needs to drop the perfectionism in his mind and relax and throw, rather than try and heave. Despite the press knock, his arm strength is fine for anything the Vikings need him for, and he’s proven this season he can place them anywhere they need to be once he gets out of his head.
@Sean Novack I wasn’t blaming Kirk for anything I was just making a point. Like I said, if Kirk makes some lousy throws and guys drop passes the coach cant do anything about it. I was defending KOC because the guy was making negative comments about his coaching. I know what you are saying about the line but Kirk made some very inaccurate throws to guys that were wide open. I didn’t say Kirk was a lousy QB, I said he made some lousy throws. ✌😁

When u have a good record. And are a good team. Every team is gonna wanna beat u. Period. In the NFL it comes down to one or two plays that decide games. They are professional players. This is happening through out the the NFL. The good teams make plays when it matters.

For the “fans” that keep complaining about them winning these close games. Remember, 1998, 2000, 2009 and 2017 teams won several games in regular season in blowout fashion but we all know what happened in the NFC Championship game. Maybe this year’s team can change that, assuming they make it that far.

Anyone who complains about a win, is slightly psychotic. If this was the NFCCG and moved the Vikings to the SB, would you be disappointed? No game is a guaranteed win, no win should be taken for granted and make someone feel miserable.

you could see how mad he was because he beat them bad, rare drop from that man especially with some of those big hits

That 4 down goal line stand was the key moment of the game. Glad the D was able get the int at the end too. They couldn’t get off the field but the offense couldn’t stay on either.
TJ is getting better and better, having that type of guy in that spot is such a huge addition. Also Kirk’s run was AMAZING. There have been a couple times when I’m looking at the screen where I wish he would’ve taken off but he didn’t this game he got that 1st down I was so hyped lol.
