Josh Allen: “Can’t Dwell on One Loss” | Buffalo Bills

Bills Quarterback Josh Allen addresses the media following practice on Wednesday, November 10th. Topics include: how he’s been recovering from Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, how Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs helps keep Allen level throughout every game, what it would mean to have Tight End Dawson Knox back in the rotation for the team, how he assesses his game this season vs last season, and how he tries to stay patient as a Quarterback.

we believe in you Josh

Just another hurdle. Let the past pass. Come back to the bigger picture

Put Antonio Williams in

    Patriot Anti-commie

Wouldn’t matter. These running backs are getting hit in the back field every other carry

    Cjwest 119

@Patriot Anti-commie your right about that but Williams would probably be a better play for one week then Singletary. Just see how he plays, he did play with this line last year in the final game. We should just see what happens

    LJL6238

Why haven’t we seen him at all since last season?

A kim

Everyone believes in josh Allen. He just can’t do it by himself. He can’t be a qb and the running back at the same time

    A kim

@D.A.N. you made some good points. But it’s not because of josh Allen himself. the buffalo bills did not for some reason upgrade their offensive line and running back position. I do not think the starting players on the o line have played together as a unit due to injuries and the running back position has a starter who in four years never ran for a hundred yards in any game also he scored 4 touchdowns in four years. So josh Allen has no real help in the offense so he has to force plays just to move the ball. And others teams have figured that out. Why do you think other teams just pass rush against the bills

    D.A.N.

@A kim As a QB with his potential and intelligence, Josh should have a better grasp and be a better leader. This could be a long verbal discussion… But I’ll abbreviate my take. Of course, the surrounding team is important, but the QB is core to an efficient and effective program! Building the team around a QB needs adaptation and flexibility, esp with the potential Josh brings, otherwise you become more one dimensional. If Josh continues to just let the game come to him instead of going to the game, he’ll fail to grow, and that which he has done all this year. Josh does not want to be known as a “checkdown charlie”, teams latch onto this and play him where he doesn’t want to be, make him uncomfortable and sloppy… It’s worked almost all year(josh also admitted this week). Our defense has saved many games this year. He has to be more patient, both Daball and the McDermott indicated the same of this (many times), but this week he lost it; threw 2 int and fumbled it twice, once for a loss. When he dropped back, he was unprepared, indecisive and impatient. He will get it, it will click, and he will progress IF he really believes he needs to. But it is my belief it won’t be good enough to take the bills to the Super Bowl. Midway through the season, the team is doubtful for home field advantage already and is fighting for a playoff spot, the next 5 weeks is monumental.

    Bobby Gray

@D.A.N. watch Josh shine for the rest of this season…I’ll find you when they’re in the playoffs

    D.A.N.

@Bobby Gray Playoffs, Maybe. Home field advantage, very doubtful. Super Bowl NO WAY! Let’s watch him shine…

Nino Brown

Let’s not forget what happened last year during this same week 8 after that Hailmary Loss in Arizona…..We went on a 8 Game win streak and walked into the AFC Championship Game

    Dilly_Dilly_Dale

This isnt last season…. not by a long shot…he had protection last year and he was making good reads…this year it’s different

    Nino Brown

@Dilly_Dilly_Dale Please Loose the Negative Energy if you want to be a part of Bills Mafia Bro!
    Some losses are actually Wins.
And that Jags loss was one of them!

    Johan

This clearly isnt last season. And losing off a hail mary to the Cardinals and losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars without a TD are 2 completely different things

    Dilly_Dilly_Dale

@Nino Brown um how is falling to a half game behind new England a win???

    Dilly_Dilly_Dale

@Nino Brown you can’t have positives without negatives, but negatives that bad deserves criticism this is on GM and coaches that this team has major regressed from a season ago

Sam H

Throw to Diggs ❤️💙

Daniel Ventura

I feel for Josh, it’s basically him and diggs vs 11, no run game, no protection, all of his plays he has to make our unscripted

    Dilly_Dilly_Dale

He barely even throws to Diggs if yohe watch film from EVERY game this season he either hadn’t noticed diggs was open or hust doesn’t throw to him, he missed beasley for the game winning TD vs the titans, he missed sanders vs jacksonville to convert that 4th down…hes off the mark this season

    Benjamin Mckay

@Dilly_Dilly_Dale One thing that I don’t think can be overstated is the importance of having good protection, but more importantly TRUSTING your O-line.

Recently his protection has been abysmal, and Daboll isn’t calling fast developing plays to counteract this lack of protection. So Josh is put in a situation where he needs to wait for plays to develop but the O-line is getting blown up and destroying his rhythm. It’s natural for young QB’s to be a little off their game when this is occurring, sure you may expect someone like Rodgers or Brady to better know how to deal with it, but for Josh it’s still a learning experience.

I mean look at Mahomes, he’s an even more prominent example. It’s the first time in his career where he’s consistently been let down by his line, and he hasn’t figured out yet how to deal with it at all. Like Josh, I believe he’s too talented for this to really effect him long term, but in the present it’s a roadblock they’re learning how to get over.

    J Barkley

In the Titans game, Beasley wasn’t open in the red zone until Josh was running past the line of scrimmage to run for the 1st down. rewatch it in slow mo. But Josh has been off a bit more this season at times. It really starts with the OL, the play calling and it’s a learning experience for a young but talented QB, as the commenter above me stated.

Sean

We lose to Jets we are in big trouble

    Johan

    Tank then😂

    Sean

@Johan We will figure it out. Hopefully.

Exisistance

This man is a professional. All I’m saying is make the Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers throws when it counts. Smart football always

    Johan

What makes you think he will? That isnt his playtype and is just a good qb. No more no less

    Luke Blersch

I am huge fan of Josh Allen Big Quarter back with a big heart… I like his aggressiveness I hope he knows he does not have to make a big play every time just go through the progressions and trust the process and buy all means if theres no body open throw the football away I belive Josh Allen will make Bounce back no matter what the haters are saying on Facebook its up to the entire team to protect you’re Qb at all times?Let’s Go Buffalo Bills!🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈we know the red zone Buffalo bills they know the touch downs are going drop i Buffalo is to good to limited to 6 I absolutely refuse to belive and know Buffalo will convert on there opportunities….

    David M

Agree 💯. Tom Brady made a CAREER on the underneath pass. He’s throw the bomb when it was there. Not sure if JA can morph into that as he’s a Favre type of qb. Loves to gamble.

Chris Parker

This team isnt as good as we think they are all our wins hav come against struggling teams!!!!

TennValleyGal

Good interview, Josh. Maybe we got all of ‘our bads’ done in one game. Now it’s on to the stars!

Amy

Red zone – horrible, protection – horrible, O line – horrible, play calling- horrible! You’re not a one man band Josh, you need help. Pathetic loss to a Pathetic team. We’ve had red zone issues all season, so many missed opportunities. D line – Awesome! Daboll, step it up!!!

    D.A.N.

Every week they say… WE use the 1st 24 hours to review and fix and then we move on. They always move on, yet 10 weeks in there is no fixing, just a broken record!

    Amy

@D.A.N. Agreed! I’ll always be a Bills fan, but c’mon, this is ridiculous. I’ve never been a fan of Daboll though.

    D.A.N.

@Amy Well 4 games later, still the same!

BG RD

The problem was the O-line 100%

Chris 585

mans is Lazer focused. his demeanor has changed.

Munkee

True fans always hope and support. Josh’s demeanor is always a class act and GO BILLS

You got this!

    D.A.N.

The best fans are honest with ourselves and those around us too! Josh has unfortunately carried a lose lose attitude throughout most of the season. He’s waiting for the game to come to him, he’s not going to the game. He’s not a rookie anymore, he has to step up and be the leader he is suppose to be! No Super Bowl this year!

RUNDMK13

Lots of depression on Bills faces still!! I’m doing the best that I can is really not what they are doing!! Enough of the talk!! Just go out there and kick some a$s like you’re supposed to!!

wyomingtrout

Josh can’t do it alone, he was rattled by the pressure brought by the Jags, imagine what it will be like the rest of the way, against really good defenses like the Panthers, Patriots, Bucs and Saints. I see us going 10 & 7 and squeaking in as a wildcard team if we are lucky.

Yung Cashier

Come on we can get a 14-3 record before post season let’s go buffalo bills 🏈

Mark McLean

Hope they turn it around but until they figure out how to beat Cover 2, and get the offensive line in order, we’re in for a rough 2nd half of the season.

Ricardo Green II

We need a serious run game! We need a Derek Henry type back. Moss and Singletary is not it.
