Frank Reich Postgame Press Conference | Week 12 vs. Buccaneers – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
JR Vance

It’s very evident we need more playmakers at receiver

    Michael Emery

@chad thompson Godwin would be amazing, I don’t know if Ballard would pay him, but he would be well worth it

    The Real Alcoholic

@Michael Emery Bargain Bin Ballard only signs B- to reclamation projects… He’ll never pay big money for play makers

    Trolling Them Softly

We need a coach who can read the room.

    Patrick Star

@chad thompson Godwin staying in Tampa

    Beetle Juice

Or we need a better coach who knows how to call a run play with a ten point lead and the ball. We have one of the best lines and RB in the NFL.

Jay Lewis

We should have started running the ball when Wentz cooled off, not on the last drive of the game

Branden Floyd

I wanted to hear this was on me I lost this game due to me thinking I’m outsmarting everyone. Just run it with a 10 point lead.

    Alec Friend

It wasn’t though. So that’s why you won’t hear it. Every run until the last drive was trash. The Bucs made it that way. Shaq Barrett made a play on the opening drive coming out of the half when the Bucs needed it and things snowballed from there

    Branden Floyd

@Alec Friend we only had 8 attempts that’s not enough to stop your best player from getting more running attempts.

    Dsowavyx 93

@Alec Friend He literally didn’t give it to him the whole 3rd quarter. All that passing in that quarter led to no points.

    Alec Friend

Eight attempts with minimal return per play and the passing game working much better is definitely a reason to continue to pass the ball. It’s what got the ten point lead in the first place. A passing game where the Colts also targeted Johnathan Taylor where appropriate. Also, Shaq Barrett making an amazing play that he’s paid to make while Carson had no where to step up to avoid pressure and Michael Pittman not winning a 50/50 ball lead to no points in the third quarter, not passing the ball. I don’t buy the solution to those things happening being to not pass the ball when outside of those instances, it provided positive results that gave the Colts the lead. I just think placing blame on play calling when the plays being called we’re working isn’t the winning move. Eliminating as many of the five turnovers as possible is the way to not lose. And you don’t eliminate those turnovers by abandoning the thing that worked and is working for you. The game was won holding all else equal if the Pittman 50/50 ball is incomplete, Hines doesn’t fumble a punt return, or the right guard isn’t in Carson’s lap on the Shaq Barrett strip sack

    Joel Wilson

@Alec Friend BS… We didn’t even try to run till the 4th quarter… we were up by 10 at the half….

Jason Bryant

Three double digit leads blown, Frank. You and your “all three phases.”

    Cory Riggs

Dudes he’s cost us everyloss jt had 8 carries second half all that scoring drive and 3 after the first series in first half also we threw it 30 times in a row at one point that wentz fumble your in the RedZone and u don’t let jt touch it once. Bet he didn’t even play 45% of snaps today

Sexton Hardcastle

Third time we’ve blown a double digit lead. You live by the pass, you die by the pass. Tampa had 21 points off turnovers. We’re 0-6 when JT rushes under 100 yards, 6-0 otherwise. Dumb mistakes and stubborn play calling cost us the game.

    exzander

@Jared Ross You got 31 points because of those pass plays. Yes, even the last drive where they ran the ball finally, the only reason it was effective is because, as Bruce Arians said in the post conference – “we thought they abandoned the run at that point, so we didn’t have anybody in the box to stop them”. Had the Colts continued to run it, it would have continued to be stuffed and continued to fail. It only worked late because they abandoned it for so long (and while doing so, put up a good stack of points).

    Jared Ross

    @exzander oh and another thing
Every single drive we scored on, we had rushing attempts on the drive.

Ironically we don’t attempt one run in the 3rd quarter and have 3 TOs bc of it..

    exzander

@Jared Ross disagree. And I’m not lying, I stated what the Bucs head coach said about why the run worked on the final drive. If you have an issue, go talk to the head coach of the reigning, defending super bowl champions, as he’s the one that explained it. Or how about your own head coach, who explained how the run failed them which is why the passed the ball.

Backseat coaching from your dorito crumb covered couch is fun I’m sure, but I’d leave the coaching to the professionals if I were you.

    Jared Ross

@exzander actually I played and coach football.
26 straight passes get you beat on every level.
They didn’t empty the box every play of that last drive we scored on. Rewatch it. We bullied them bc they were worn out. Idc what Bruce Arians said in a PC bc he’s speaking in general terms.

If you support FR and his play calling then that tells me all I need to know about the extent of your football knowledge, seeing how you probably have never stepped foot on a field and you use some childhood backyard memory for a point of reference or relation for yourself when discussing football

Jason Holland

We killed ourselves with turnovers and the refs were a major problem as well.

Chas Noyes

Colts have the best run game but abandoned it in the 3rd with the lead WTF Frank !!

Chas Noyes

If we don’t win the next three straight we ain’t making the playoffs

    Beetle Juice

Plus we will not have a first round pick. Hopefully the Colts spend some money and not worry about resigning this whole roster. What have they accomplished? Nothing!

New Life

Frank needs to watch some Titans games with Henry, even when they are down they don’t abandon the run. So easy to use the excuse of we didn’t run it well in the 1st quarter/half. With Reich doing what he’s doing we deserve to lose. He thinks he’s so smart. 6-6.

    New Life

@Concrete Productions those Wentz pass stats are fools gold. They were great to get the lead but why not focus on running in the 2nd half. Let me ask you this… which do you trust more( after having a 10 point lead) running or passing the ball?

    Concrete Productions

@New Life running yes but there whole defensive game plan was to stop the rush because they saw what happened to the bills and we tried at the start and we were losing yards

    New Life

@Concrete Productions cop out. Good teams can do what they do best to win and refuse to let anyone stop them. That’s why those teams are good teams, we are not a good team. Well we knew Brady was going to Gronk so could we stop them? Exactly. We are not a good team.

    Concrete Productions

@New Life did I say we were a good team

    Larry Milam

@New Life IKR , like WTH 😳!! Like I havnt seen 1 Draw play off Play-Action this season mabey a variation of it. If u seen Carson was still 🔥 right b4 tha Strip…tha middle opened up @least 3 times n diff series of play! It’s anotha way Colts cud get JTrain tha ball is tha Ol’ stretch play Peyton used w/Edge especially since Carson a lil faster than Peyton! Coach Frank duznt wanna admit he played his fake ACE n hole nstead of his REAL ACE n 🕳 ⛳!! N I’m wondering 🤔 u did play w/All Pro-HOF’er Thuman Thomas AND y’all MADE SURE 2 that man tha 🏉 No Matter What….HELLO FRANK 🤫😳??

Deer Dude

I know we lost and people can say that I’m being a sore loser but some of the calls the refs made were just plain dumb. I have to respect the refs position but I believe that there’s a chance that if we would have had one less mistake and a couple of better calls from the refs we would’ve won this game. My analysis on the team as of now is that we can literally beat ANYBODY. As long as we are healthy and keep turnovers to a minimum we can beat ANYBODY. This team is probably just a slightly better secondary and a tiny bit more clutch QB play from being a super bowl team. And by “clutch”, I mean please don’t turn the ball over in key moments. But Carson overall has not been that bad.

    george lugenalt

Tru. Sometimes teams get hot in the second half of a season, barely miss the playoffs, then they have to find a way to keep that fight going in the next year… never easy.

    WhiteRice Gaming

@ProfaneLizard bro what game were u watching. Clearly not the right one. The interception wasn’t even Mike Edwards it was Antoine Winfield. Secondly, that was OBVIOUSLY PI. He grabbed Pittman by both shoulders to hold him back. That’s the definition of PI. Especially after the PI they called on Ya Sin on the Bucs drive before

    ProfaneLizard

@WhiteRice Gaming I meant Winfield but Pittman started the contact cause he lost the fight Winfield eyes was on the ball the whole time and it was a awesome catch that no one thought he would get over on Pittman.

    Beetle Juice

I agree the refs sucked but let’s be honest. Frank deserves the blame for this.

    Beetle Juice

@Howie We lost because we came out of half with a big lead and threw it 30 times in a row!

Stealth Ownz

Abandoned JT until the 4th Qt? Wow is all I can say. Heard all week. This dude for real. But then you completely abandoned him WITH A LEAD.🤬🤬🤬🤬

    Lavar Riley

@Jeff Jones he was averaging 5.2 a carry

    really though

Frankly, it looked like the fix was in, and fbi got a call right before half, and they said its off

    Stealth Ownz

@Jeff Jones It was basic football. Bucs kept stacking the box Colts plan was to exploit the the middle of the field because of it. The pass game was clicking and they completely abandoned the best player on the team until they got behind.😅 Somehow getting behind ment run the ball.😅 Instead of have a lead, let’s get back to running the ball. JT went down the field with ease. Should of had more carries. I’m not convinced 8 JT carries means they shut the run down. If it was like 15-16 carries I’d agree. But you’re right, it’s you’re opinion.

    Stealth Ownz

@really though Don’t care about that. Pascal fumbled, Wentz 3 times and Hine with the worse timing fumble. Can’t win games like that. Pittman looked terrible in this game. He was lost and had poor ball tracking skills. This game should have been a blow out. Colts let them back in the game not the refs.

    Jeff Jones

@Stealth Ownz yes sir, I acknowledged that in an earlier comment. I personally feel they should have come out running in the 2nd half, or at least tried to mix it up more than they did. But, wasn’t my call to make and I’m not gonna rail on frank.

Deer Dude

What to expect from the Colts here on out:

1. Making the playoffs is gonna be dependent on losing only 1 more game
2. This may sound overly optimistic, but if we make the playoffs, we may very well be able to compete for a super bowl.
3. As long as we take care of the ball, feed it to JT for 20+ carries and have the refs making good fair calls, 9/10 times we win.

    Stubbo242

I feel we could have caught the Titans if we picked up this win. No room for error now

    Nicholas Derickson

@Trev Mac yah the guy who just won the super bowl. Ok buddy

A smile on my face but a Demon inside

    nope

YouTube Curates Content, algorithm is a lie

If we make the playoffs. Big if.

I put us winning one playoff game at 40%. Making the Superbowl at 20%. And if we’re in that, maybe 30% to win it.

Fixed it for ya kiddo. The Colts’ defense has stretches where they go absolutely ice cold for a complete quarter. They can’t stop anything. The Colts defense will seem alright and then they absolutely blow it like with Titans, Ravens, Bucs, etc etc

Come the playoffs where defense counts far more than the regular season, they’ll most likely be burnt by more consistent clubs.

    C Truth

@Trev Mac LOL!! Your comment is hilarious but that’s because its true. I made a huge guffaw reading it. You made my day. This is a funny comment. Its true. Old man Brady is becoming a detriment to the sport of football.

Shelby Buckwinkel

All I can say is that we went from leading the game at the half to losing by 7 but it was a close game

Cards 3000

number one rusher in the league and the colts completely push away from the run. This loss is on the coaching staff. The season is over from a series of terrible decisions. It can’t be we have to learn from this one when your this deep in the season. You have people printing hats that say run the ball and only the coaching staff doesn’t understand it. Time to move on from coaches

Donovan Carriere

It’s Frank’s job to get his best playmaker the ball. He failed. Bottom line here

Hydra Dominatus

Bucs fan here. Good game Colts. And yeah Reich outsmarted himself in the 2nd half. He should have ran my Bucs to death and play keep away from Brady to seal the game.

    Trolling Them Softly

@george lugenalt Those turnovers don’t happen if the Colts run the ball.

    Beetle Juice

Colts would have a chance if we kept your coach. Frank needs to go!

    Beetle Juice

Reich outsmarts himself every game! We threw the ball like every play until the last drive after we lost the lead. I was literally yelling at the TV like what are they doing!!? Lol Ty, good game. You will not have to worry about the Colts being a threat until we get rid of Frankenstooge!

    Beetle Juice

@Trolling Them Softly Exactly! They could have at least mixed it up a little. Everyone in the building knew what we was going to do every play.

    Tom

Bucs fan here too, if they kept running it we were done

Jamil Qureshi

Lack of running plays is treasonous, b/t that and Wentz’s mistakes. It’s always something like this with Reich.

ColtAction

6-6 Frank. Playoff chances are slim to none. Very disappointing. Run the dang ball.

CensorTube

The only time we scored in the 2nd half was when we mixed the run back in during that drive. I realize they are amazing at run defense and were stacking the box but you can’t just completely abandon the run. They started pinning their ears back and getting tons of pressure during that stretch of 20+ passes.

    Beetle Juice

Yep! The defense made our offense so predictable.

Yerp

This man has one of the best RBs in the league and decides to throw 44 times with an average QB. He needs to go.

    KINGinaNORTH

Carson is far from average but your point still stands. JT needs to average 25-30 touches a game. Had we gone into the season and someone told you Carson would throw for 4000+YDS 30 TDS to 7 INTS and JT would run for 1700 YDS and score 20 Touchdowns but the team would have a worst record then last year I would have thought you were insane but here we are…

    Yerp

@KINGinaNORTH I respect your opinion but if he was far from average he wouldn’t be throwing left handed shovel passes on our own goal line. He wouldn’t be trying to play hero ball on every play. I believe if we actually had a far from average qb then we would be winning our division. We are a win now team. Not another Frank Reich friend from the past experiment team.
