Coach Tomlin on Week 16 loss to Jets: ‘We didn’t get the job done today’ – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE

I’m going to blame Randy fichtner on thisbecause the way that were playing it’s not very good we’re going to have to fire him at the end of the if you guys don’t know it is all Randy fichtner’s fault on those Plays that he has been calling so yeah

    chrism 1042

U was at this game that clown keeps running it up the middle line it worked in the last ten years what a disgrace

@chrism 1042 I was not at the game I was home

    Debra Willard

    agree

It’s ok Mike. You had a hell of a defense, but pretty much a second string offense. I expect a deep playoff run next year though.

    Debra Willard

    yes, i do agree

    Debra Willard

    fire the oc

    a b

@Debra Willard thanks for telling me twice to reaffirm it 😂

    Debra Willard

    @a b ur welcome!!!

    Debra Willard

    LOL!!

Freddie's Kitchen

Mason’s health should have nothing to with Duck starting (or not) if Paxton Lynch is available. Duck should not have started this game, nor should he have went back into the game when Rudolph went down. In reality he’s a third stringer at best, behind Rudolph and Lynch. They should have had Lynch ready for this week vs. the Jets. If the Steelers are smart they will have Lynch prepared to play next week vs the Ravens (either as a starter or back-up to Rudolph).

    Freddie's Kitchen

@Dylan McClintock, if that’s the case , then hopefully the Steelers can correct this, so Lynch is ready for the Ravens. Unfortunately, the damage may already be done.

    steeleru7 Burgh

@call of duty ruined my life Bell was never a cancer in the locker room. Just because he wanted more guaranteed money doesn’t make him cancer. He isn’t AB

    MotorcycleMan

steeleru7 Burgh yeah, he just didn’t keep showing up for work and the team kept practicing plays designed for him, and then he didn’t show again. Hmmm, maybe he WAS a cancer on the team.

    Ryan Maliek

Freddie’s Kitchen I agree. It’s like Tomlin actually bought into the Duck hype train. He was never that good, was just playing horrible teams.

    Travis Morse

@call of duty ruined my life bell wasn’t cancer Gtfoh! Dude wanted more $. He didn’t do anything like clowntonio did!

MotorcycleMan

Fire Fichtner. The Steelers AGAIN played down to the worst opponents in the league.

    jw1

@Alley Oop ! OK well I’m not going to argue with someone ignorant enough to say Ben is no better than Duck or Mason and for what it’s worth the Steelers had the lead when ben went down vs Seattle.

    Alley Oop !

@jw1 No argument but if im.being ignorant explain. Ben cant elevate people around him hes not that good, we would have 4 wins and a unaccountable amount of excuses if Ben was our qb,again 0-2 with Ben ,no passing tdz this year

    mike collins

@Alley Oop ! – Ben played against New England in the first game of the season which is way too much time to let Belichick prepare for him plus he has an outstanding defense… he went out with the injury in the following game. That being said, he’s coming off of a year where he threw for over 5,000 yards–over 280 yards 11 times–the highest output for these young QB’s has been 251 and that was against Miami–In Ben’s only full game, he threw for 276 against the 2nd ranked passing defense.

In short, they are limited in their ability and experience–Ben certainly has his flaws but is far above these young guys.

    Alley Oop !

@mike collins Ben stats last year sucked,he threw about 700 times, his yards per pass was terrible and tdz per pass was awful.
    Last year.

    Ben 5000 yds 34 tdz 16 intz
    Mahomes 5000 yards 50 tdz 12 intz
    Wilson 3500 yards 35 tdz 7 intz

That was Ben’s best year and it wasn’t that good, especially considering he had the best rb,wr and oline for about 5 years, the only weak link was Ben.

    Alley Oop !

@mike collins Belichick is a cheating bum,Brady runs sh!t in Pew England

The cool Dude

We all better hope we can win and the Titans lose it would be a miracle if we get in.

    Johnny Pastrana

Houston will sit its starters, the game means nothing to them…Pitts is done this year…get over it.

Freddie's Kitchen

Connor is a Pro-Bowl caliber RB. He can’t stay on the field, however. The Steelers will unfortunately need to address the RB position in the offseason or suffer the consequences.

    a b

    @Richard .T he’s injury prone too

    Damien Perry

    He soft as pudding

    Perry Ellis

    @Richard .T yup

    Debra Willard

    agree

    Debra Willard

@Richard .T he is bad news

OBAMA IS A CRACKHEAD OBAMA IS A CRACKHEAD

play calling on offense was TERRIBLE. Can’t blame “WE”. That’s on Tomlin.

    mike collins

@STRIKEFURY – also not a fake fan… Tomlin had 16 non-losing seasons because he’s had an incredible roster for 16 straight years. When he doesn’t , we see this–and don’t let losing a QB and a few skill positions make you lose sight of the fact that the play calling has been garbage and Tomlin has sat and watched it happen. He gets out there and publicly says that he’s going with the QB that isn’t going to “kill” them and then turns around with the Bills and watches his undrafted rookie QB that they CUT go out there and throw the ball 38 times while only running it 14 times vs the Bills even though the game was never more than a possession apart… basically, he said all of that and went out there and put the game on Hodge’s shoulders–the complete opposite of what he said! If he can’t correct, or at least mitigate the OC, then what good is he?

    Debra Willard

    and the oc

    Eric Willingham

Look @ the name on your profile, that says it all, non objective comment from a non objective individual

    Eric Willingham

@mike collins A terrible exaggeration, all those years the defense aged & got old the roster was not incredible, lets b objective, i love Cowher who also had elite talent even had losing seasons, all other great coaches have

RANS87IROCZ

That was int by Joe, pure BS the refs got that wrong, just a momentum changer they could of had early and should of had, was a hell of a play!

    Anthony Ciancio

    Or Tomlin could have challenged!!!

    mike collins

@Anthony Ciancio – Tomlin only challenges plays won’t go in his favor so he can also lose a timeout… this year’s Bengals would be jealous of his record in challenges.

Huey Leon

There goes the season!!!!!!pitaful the way they play at this point of the season!!!no offense with a bad OC coordinator

Zechariah Barajas

I’d be happier if we just let Chris Boswell kick a FG every drive.

    FacelessMan

we’d have to not throw the ball away in the redzone for that to happen

    Larry Duffy

    Lol..get to the 35 and kick a FG..if the Steelers do that 5 times a game..that’s 15 points…and that’s all the defense needs..love the game plan..

steeleru7 Burgh

The horrible offseason BS with AB, the death of Coach Drake, Coach Munch leaving, loss of Ben, Tuitt, and all the other multiple injuries throughout this season, the Ravens will put us out of our misery. The offense to put it simply sucks but considering all of the 💩 the team and Coach Tomlin have gone through this season, I am damn proud of them.

    Wes Coast

steeleru7 Burgh all facts…I think we shud of kept Dobbs

    Wes Coast

reyes roberts hell no…we shouldn’t even be where we at…Tomlin coach of the year…look at wat we working wit and we still got a chance 2 make the playoffs

    mike collins

@reyes roberts – AB made Ben!!!! Ben won with the SB with other WR’s and not with AB and Bell.

    GhosTown

@reyes roberts Have you seen Hodges throw? He is throwing dying ducks in the air and hoping the WRs win a combat catch. Hodges and Rudy are trash and they are going to cost the Steelers a shot at the Superbowl. In the playoffs, with the best defense anything can happen. But not with those two qBs. There are a ton of college QBs and some that are still in High school that can play the position better than them and somehow the Steelers seemed to trade away the best athletic backup QB they had.

Jalen Hurts needs to be the number 1, 2, and 3 priority for the Steelers. That young man is going to be the next Lamar Jackson and that’s what the Steelers need. A tough always available signal caller that can run like a deer and has a cannon arm.

Let’s start the movement #Fire Randy Fecal matter

Pittsburgh Plays

Fire fitchner. Been saying that for a while

Andy Denzien

Yet ANOTHER .500 season. Grown to expect this over the last 10 years.

    trey saville

    last year we were 9-7. 2017 was 13-3. Before that was 11-5. In 2015 it was 10-6. 2014 11-5. 2013 8-8. 2012 8-8. 2011 12-4. 2010 12-4. 2009 9-7. Thats only 2-10 seasons that were 500. Check your facts you ignorant, fake fan.

    Andy Denzien

Eat balls. I expect rings, not excuses

    mike collins

@trey saville – yeah, you’re right about the numbers but what has grown to become the expectation is pretty simple–we lose to crap teams. 2009-losses to the (at the time) 2-7 Chiefs, 3-8 Raiders and 1-11 Browns and favored to win those games by -11.5, -15.0 and -10.0. 2012–losses to the 0-2 Raiders, 1-4 Titans, 2-8 Browns and 4-8 Chargers. 2013–losses to the 0-3 Vikings and 2-4 Raiders. 2014–losses to the 0-3 Buccs and 1-8 Jets. 2015–lost to the 4-10 Ravens and were favored by -10.0. 2016–lost to the 1-4 Dolphins. Tired of typing but the Raiders in 2018 and to both Denver and the Raiders last year–either win gets them in the playoffs and were favored in every game I listed.

So that’s really it… we lose to crap sub .500 teams and, because of it, miss the playoffs, miss out on home field in the playoffs or must play on the opening weekend with no bye. Losses like this have become typical and have hurt their playoff aspirations and results… this year is a crapshoot because of the injuries but this trend started long ago.

Rocky Hooah!

Start Paxton Lynch What have we got to lose?

Wes Coast

Truth be told we shouldn’t of got rid of Dobbs…our offense sucks…

    Chevy Guy

Should have kept Dennis Dixon a few seasons back. He would have matured into a great quarterback. He could move in the pocket, and read the field when it came to finding an open receiver. Steelers need to get serious about finding a replacement for Ben because he’s only got so much time left depending on how his arm heals and reacts to throwing the ball this next spring.

    Wes Coast

Chevy Guy hell yeah…I like how our D looking and they young….so a future QB a healthy back we shud b gud

    see aye ess

Yeah, i think most people would agree with you

    Kyle Burks

    he was a walking int

EdmacZ

The Steelers fought with everything they could this season, there is nothing they could honestly do. I am proud of what they have accomplished this season. Next offseason is a different story.

Let Fichtner go and bring in a real qualified NFL offensive coordinator. He is a figurehead for Ben and way out of his depth.

James Conner is a great story, but he’s just not reliable.

Juju is also another good guy, but not #1 receiver material. WR is a distinct weakness now.

    Debra Willard

    hope so

steelerfaniowa

Same old record ,We didn’t get the job done today !!!

Ryan Maliek

At some point he needs to stop “taking responsibility” for the issues, AND ACTUALLY FIX THEM.

    see aye ess

Yeah he sounds like Obama…they think if they take responsibility for something that its makes everything all hunky dory

GhosTown

Tomlin. Why don’t you put up or shut up getting a dam QB. Get in the business of drafting Jalen Hurts. The Steelers NEED Jalen Hurts so get on the phones and start making it happen.

    Debra Willard

    agree

    a b

I can almost promise you we grab a top 10 pick next year. A QB needs at least 1 year to develop and Ben is going to retire soon so yeah.
