Great insight GO BOLTS

I love the best player available draft strategy !!!

What about trading for X.Howard or another top CB for our 1st rd. #17 pick
Since we have a Win now mode and not want to wait for a Rookie to grow to top potential if we go CB at #17 trade for a top experienced CB.
Or if we go WR with that #17 why not just trade a 2nd rd or maybe a 3rd pick for Calvin Ridley speed experience proven WR paired with Allen route running and Justin Herbert deep ball 🥶
And still have that #17 pick for another position say CB or DT or even trade back and get an additional pick from the #17 trade and get that second or third round pick back from using the other pick for trading for Calvin Ridley
And still have either a late 1st rd pick or and two early 2nd rd picks.

    Why not ?
Teams that eventually win Super Bowls recently make bold moves like this

I am all in for bolstering the offensive line for Justin as the number one priority! What’s the value in bolstering the other positions if he doesn’t have time to throw or is getting sacked?

CB is the position that you can save a lot by obtaining through draft. A good DT or RB is dirt cheap in Free Agency. A Right Tackle of starting quality COULD be had for a fairly cheap price in Free Agency (and good ones are available…cheap). You could also draft a RT better than Storm Norton in the 3rd round (VERY LIKELY anyway). It’s all up to what you can do in those first 3 rounds, but all things being equal, Im taking a star CB over a star “any other position”. There’s only one Jordan Davis. If you dont get him, there are a bunch of lesser NTs available. Noah Eliss being a Day 3 prospect who could do very well still. Still, I dont think this team has had a franchise NT since Jamal Williams and it is far past time that we remedy THAT situation. Im not against spending FA/draft capital to do so. Herbert has to be on his feet to throw to Olave (as you said, we need O line)….but it cant just be Herbert in a 40 point shootout every week because we cant stop the run to save our lives either. The gaping hole in the Chargers is staring us all in the face…it needs to be fixed this offseason.

Tim Settle from the Commanders and DJ Reed from Seattle… our main issue is depth⚡️⚡️⚡️

JamesRichard

Yes… the defense, specifically the defensive line, must be improved by getting a couple of defensive tackles and an edge pass rusher, but getting a solid RT & another solid OLine backup and a true deep threat receiver is a higher priority. Give Herbie the tools he needs to excel even more.

    Please get a right tackle!!!

Well, according to this “expert” analyst, there are only three CBs that are NFL ready to play from day one. At #17, I don’t see the Chargers landing any of the three. The Chargers have two CBs right now, Davis and Samuel Jr. The FA market is not exactly tempting except for Jackson who will want $$$. Bolts are in trouble…..again.

ABJ round 1, not as nfl ready but i think his upside could potentially be the best out of all the corners

Slow Teams dont win games. Hopefully the Chargers realize this and address it.

I want Garrett Wilson! I want Jordan Davis too but I think a fast WR that gets YAC will bring Herbert to the next level. Like what Chase did for Burrow. Lets address D line in free agency and get a RT. 2nd round draft get the best CB left. 3rd round a power RB to help Ekeler.

    GarlicButter

I agree with getting both, but there aren’t any good FA DTs and Davis is a monster. On the flip side, there’s plenty of good WRs on the market this year.

    paLm treez

@GarlicButter maybe we can make a trade for a DT then? Hmm that makes it harder. I wish we had 2 first round picks

Chri5

My favorite for our first round pick would be Sauce Gardner / Cincinnati
Should he fall to our pick we should get him because he will definitely not be there in the second round.

Andrew Kellogg

The glaring holes in this team are a run stopping nose tackle, an edge rusher to give bosa some help, a right tackle, and a cornerback. Those four things are a must. Of those four things, cornerback is the most important financially to get in the draft. A top level free agent corner will be expensive. This draft class is deep at edge so I think drafting one would be smart. A backup offensive guard would be great. I think a tight end, a WR3, and an RB2 could all be found in free agency especially with our cap space. And I’m assuming we are resigning mike williams and Aboushi

    connor grant

We just picked up a NT CB and edge rusher all we need is a RT now

    Andrew Kellogg

@connor grant yeah my comment was from 13 days ago 👍🏻

    connor grant

@Andrew Kellogg I know, I meant it’s as if the chargers staff saw your comment and got to work hahaha

Dãku Kaioshin

I’d say use all draft picks to trade up for A. Hutchinson dudes a total stud and would mesh perfectly with Joey along with Joey being the perfect mentor for him… But that’s highly unrealistic!!!

Willie BOWEN

Daniel Bellinger Tight End from San Diego St. Should be Should be looked at by the LA Chargers

Choua Vang

I like DL Travis Jones from UCONN.. we need to build defense and a TE⚡⚡⚡

Ryan Suter

Kenneth Walker and Bryce hall I think would be a running back that would share time with Ekler but they aren’t big enough to be A true complementary back. We need a bruiser who has a little twitch but mostly a bruiser

Ryan Suter

Having offensive weapons is exciting but the Chargers showed that they had enough offense to win most of the games but they really need this defense to keep other teams from scoring.

MintBiscuit01

I think the Chargers should try and get Grady Jarrett from the Falcons, Jarrett, Bosa, and Mack

adam martinez

Jordan Davis should b the only player they should want in the firstt at 17

D P

Yes defense we need to stack up on defensive players our offense is great if anything another solid RB to back up Ekeler. Both are great options 👍
