Im a Charger fan and I freely admit I was not high on him in the draft, since I didn’t like how he looked at Oregon. He had me fully on board by the end of the half in his first game. It was clearly he had some serious NFL level talent.

@Michael G mahomes’s rookie year was spent behind Alex Smith. in his first year playing, 2018, he took the league by storm with 50 tds and 5097 yards, to go along with an MVP and OPOY. so ofc Herbert is going have the rookie records and that’s great for him. however this past season he had 38 tds to 15 ints, while pat had his worst year with 37 tds to 13 picks. mahomes had the better ratio, better qbr, and hosted his 4th straight championship game. herbert missed the playoffs with a worst statistical year, there’s levels too this bud

@Slim Vickins every QB has a few bad games. Brady, Rodgers, mahomes, all have had shitty games but that doesn’t take anything away from how good they are. Chargers will be better this year and Harbert understands the offense even more now. Last year it was his first time learning the offense and he still did great. They will make a playoff push this year for sure. Rivers will always be our QB but herbert is way more talented

Chargers defense was bottom 8 and the offense has weaknesses, for example Russ got the excuse the Seahawks were bad when they had the 16th ranked defense, a top 5 receiver and a good run game… Herbert’s playing with a bottom 8 defense an average O-line a top 10 receiving core and a good run game… Yet unlike Russ he put up godly stats and damn near made the playoffs with the defense not being good. This upcoming year I would say they look like a talented team but the last 2 seasons of you exclude QB they’re probably bottom 12.

And that’s the difference between him and Derek Carr. I saw that game. Herbert put that team on his back, in his 2nd year…and all those 4th down conversions at the end? Herbert built different.

Carr didn’t do anything 2nd half. People blame the Raiders defense as they should, but Carr and the offense going stale in the second half with 3 and outs etc, yet they still act like Herbert isn’t a problem. It’s crazy to me. One bonehead move from Chargers HC ultimately cost them that game, but those Raider fans still gonna sip the kool aid smh

Jalen hurts is the same hasn’t been in the same offense since high school and all he’s been saying this off season is how much being in the same offense has been a positive for him, and he looks more decisive so far and looks much improved from last year… J herbo is way better of a QB than hurts so I can only imagine what he’s gonna look like with the same offense feeling more comfortable
