I think this will be a superb choice for us. Being OC is not like being HC. ————Shurmur is a proponent of ” 11 ” offense : 3 WR’s ——TE——& RB’s catching the ball. —————–he also uses screens , even with 3 wideouts. ——————Most of all, he’s experienced, & knows this game . —————–i’m all for it.———————————-Wolfsky9, 73 y/o
Wolfsky9 good luck old man😂😂
Wolfsky9 Sounds like a recipe for disaster with a team that can’t pass block. Has a great FB, and a 2 great TE’s. We were 4-1 and rolling under the old system. We just threw away a full year of progression and good mojo. Lock has to spend his whole off season learning a new system that much less forgiving on a QB than the Shannahan system was. This was the dumbest hiring of all time. This coach is a proven bum who’s Offenses don’t score.
OnYourKillList pat also runs a west coast offense and we were running a west coast offense last season as well so it’s not that big of a change for drew lock
Shockingly Suprised
Hyped! Coach rich struggled to make adjustments in a couple games
spicymike i was being nice bro 😂😂 you dont understand the frustration rich gave me
@Drug Peclo I hear you..was a year full of “wtf’s” I think we are heading up
KalKenobi83 he had zero experience and the broncos knew that before they hired him. Such a dumb move to do this now. Way to impede and make it as difficult as possible for your young qb that’s supposed to take his biggest jump in year 2
@Drug Peclo Broncos need some CB’s too badly
If he didnt do a good job at NY than idk if he’ll do well here but who knows.
thats just because he was a head coach meaning he had a lot more now hes just a coordinator and I think that Vic is going to give him complete control of the Offense so I really am hyped have faith fellow bronco lol
@Kpng Exactly. Totally different to be head coach versus coordinator. Some just have a hard time going from coordinator to full on team coach.
So happy 😄
So does this mean that Drew Lock and everyone else is going to stay on the Broncos?
Thankfully our offensive skill players are mostly still under rookie contract. We’ll essentially see the same offense with new play calling. #feedlindsay
@Jacob Watkins yes the thing is our defensive needs can be met in free agency its our offensive that can only be solved in the draft lets hope Fangio and Elway can see that
Kpng dang so we’re losing some good defenders. Can’t they just keep the team they have :/
@Peacefire 12 sorry man its a salary capped league im sure fangio would love to keep them however we can really only afford to keep the two i told you guys about and maybe get another person in free agency breaks my heart
70 million in cap space will not all be used for resigning these players lmao, they could resign all of these players if they wanted too and still have like 20-40 mil in cap space left lol
Aggressive offense mentality is clearly current NFL success. Gambling with thunder-offense is proving to pay off…
Hopefully they still use janovich
With how productive the run game is with janovich, I dont see any scenario where they don’t try to utilize him
Unfortunately Jano’s offensive role is going to decrease significantly. They might go under center once in a Blue moon (where Jano will come in), but Shurmur mostly runs spread/spacing concepts with one running back. I’m super excited for this tho because Lock thrived in the shotgun in college, and I’m excited to see more jet sweeps/RPOs. Once this offense can get things down, we could see some no huddle stuff too. I’m hoping we don’t entirely get rid of under center stuff but I think that Shurmur’s decision making is going to be lengths and bounds better than Scang’s, and the offense will be much more electric and aggressive.
@PDSwag The play designs will be less exotic and complicated under Shumur. Less usage of motion pre snap.
Broncos are stupids but they
Finally did something good
The Broncos need offensive linemen!!!! If u cant keep Lock clean then it’s all for nothing!
@AngelJordanBruh you do know risner is our best OL and he actually had a great year and james when he started was good not bad or great
@Cam Forbes stop it he did great because of how horrible our lineman have been. But u ok with average play by the second highest paid rt ever. Ok then
Yes really those fat boys cannot protected the QB man.
AngelJordanBruh risner made all rookie team what are you talking about ?
We all agree 100% but the staff worked with what we had in the team! Now the coaching staff know what we have on the roster and can now improve! Munchek, Kuper, and now shurmur I guarantee we improve big time this off season!! At every position really
Can’t wait for the season to start db4life
Cool but I thought our offense looked good maybe more runs?
Apparently he called 40 pass plays in the snow against KC.
hopefully he will utilize Tim Patrick more , great hands.
Agree
Totally agree. Sutton, Patrick, Jeudy or Lamb out of the draft, and Hamilton in the slot
We coulda had Kyle Shanahan. Now we’re running around rambling and scrambling. The giants been awful under shermer am I missing out on something. No faith in Shanahan after all his dad only brought two Super Bowls and winning seasons.
Tuan Van while he was head coach. But he was amazing at running offenses
It’s like if Parcells had a son who was coming up as an assistant and the Giant just HAD to have him. Sometimes teams want to go in different directions. I’m sure Elway wanted to not go in the Shanahan direction. Was it a mistake? Only time will tell.
I was just starting to believe in rich, he has so much upside.. 😩but we also can use more experience for our young core of offense & that allow Vic to focus on defense only.. I get it.
I’m pulling for rich where he goes
His creative plays were nice but he just didn’t know when to call them. I liked the pistol formation and wildcat calls
I liked Scangs too, I felt like him and Drew were gonna do well going into this new year.
WOW! Kinda a slippery slope here, Scangarello was just starting to pick it up, but then at the same time the offense just couldn’t seem to help out the D in the second half. If Shurmur can sustain the offense and get us some more points after scoring 17, then we’re good!
He picked it up to save his job. To late at the end. He should of been aggressive every game and not for 1 qrt then slack off.
1:49 Dalvin Cook played 4 games for him before tearing his ACL and missing the rest of the season. You don’t really pay attention, do you, Phil?
I’m excited for next season! Going to be interesting to see if it can all come together! #GoBroncos
I was surprised about Scangarello but, I like the hire of Shurmur. I hope you get into Hall of Fame Steve Atwater. It’s well deserved.
He’s got one foot in the door.
It means hopefully more wins and more passes to noah fant.
Lol
Steve Atwater, one of my fav Bronco’s of all time. Still remember the MNF game he was mic’d up for again KC and he knocked Christian Okoye backwards like a wrecking ball.
