12 personnel with irv and TJ sounds like a matchup nightmare especially with JJ on the outside. Maybe Irv could line up in the slot similar to how Kelce does to hunt matchups.

If Irv Smith Junior is coming back with that mean TJ Hockenson will have to sit this one out? I hope not. Because TJ has been killing it since been drafted to us from Detroit. I will be very mad if TJ has to sit this one out.

    No, there won’t be any sitting out. They can have both on the field at the same time, or have them in some sort of rotation. They won’t shut TJ down just because Irv is back.

    Unless TJ gets hurt he is the #1 TE, simply put. Now if Irv is healthy he’ll surely slot into the lineup and see some play time as well, as coach mentioned there’ll be some bigger personnel packages like 12 or 22 with multiple TE out, but I wouldn’t expect TJ to see but maybe a few snaps less (and that would just be if they want to keep him fresh going late into games).
