I don’t understand why this CORRECT decision is being scrutinized so much. Jones hasn’t even proven that he can play all 17 games let alone take a monumental jump to be the franchise starter

The New York Giants made the correct decision not just for the short term, but also long term. You cannot continue tolerating mediocrity and this decision reflects that change in philosophy. Daniel Jones has the chance to prove the doubters wrong and as a result, the Giants will gladly pay him. If he puts forth a dud, cut ties and sign a QB who will have a better supporting cast then what DJ had initially in NY.

    @California Dreaming After Kyler murray went No. 1 in that draft it was a historically bad QB class. Only QB’s of note after DJ were Dwayne Haskins (R.I.P) and Drew Lock. So the Giants took the best available QB but it was still a massive reach. Would have been better off just rolling with a backup type of QB for a season and trying again in a better QB class the following year.

    @California Dreaming I wasn’t a fan of his or Saquon’s selection and it was more of an indictment on the roster, not players (SB, DJ). The previous regime was trying to contend and that was such an awful take. This regime is already making the right calls and declining the option is proof of that.

    Jones was going to be drafted by Denver if the Giants didn’t take him at 6. Denver traded out of the first rd…Took Drew Lock in that draft…. He was the 2nd best Qb behind Kmurry…weak qb draft…Doesn’t matter at this point…final yr or beginning of something else

They aren’t betting against anything. A 5th year option isn’t smart 🤣 if he’s not good they will restart the QB clock ⏰ and draft a QB . This QB class is rich in talent .

I’d take Jones as a backup to Prescott in Dallas in a heartbeat. The way starters go down these days, you need a talented backup. I think Jones could fill that roll nicely.
