Congratulations to Coach Flores, it’s been to long but it’s great that he is able to see himself recognized for what he’s accomplished and deserved. I wish Stabler would’ve been able to been able to enjoy it while living, as well as Cliff Branch who unfortunately is still waiting.

I was introduced to football in 1980 at the age of nine.
Flores was then and will always be the Coach that inspired me most (alongside those players/greats) to become a fan (‘Fanatic!!’) of not just my Raiders but the game itself.
Calm and ‘Cool’ Coach Flores and his Raider ‘Ruffians’/’ALL-Stars’ opened the door, I walked in and cannot be more grateful for the lifetime of experience that being a member of this Nation has meant to me.
Thank you so very much, Coach, for playing such a large role in stimulating my love for the game and always representing it with so much class and grace.
You never need be ‘honored’ to be inducted into the HOF, but rather Canton should be ‘honored’ that you are a member of the HOF, Sir.

It’s too bad some players are inspired by him to keep their head on straight and not get too high or low. Tom coached the Raiders when they had so many eccentrics but also potential volatile players yet he always remained calm. Some of these players today celebrate a tackle after a 5 yard gain. They score a TD with 1 minute left in the game down 60-0 and celebrate like they just won the super bowl. Meanwhile all I can picture is Tom, arms crossed, laminated play sheet in one and slowly chewing gum. Oh and unlike that coach in Seattle, I don’t recall him throwing his gum on the ground. Tom is as much a reason the Raiders won those two games as any player on the team because of his personality.

Long overdue and well deserved. Tom Flores means a lot to my family and I. Go Raiders!!!!!
