Everything that I witnessed from him playing exemplified excellence!

My Favorite Steelers Defensive Player EVER!!! The Face of those great 90s teams that’s better than any 2000 Steelers teams!! And it’s a goddamn shame this man never mentioned with Harrison Woodson Polamalu and others!!!!

    80s Teen

I watched Lloyd his entire career but I’m guessing the answer to your question is the other three guys you mentioned not only have rings (Rod’s with the Ravens) but also all three of them won Defensive Player of the Year. The other three also all played in three Super Bowls a piece (Although Harrison wasn’t a starter in 2005 but still, and Rod with three different teams, although he was out all of 95 from opening day until the Super Bowl) Regardless, they all have a presence in three Super Bowls with a DPOY award

    Josh Pitts

@80s Teen I’d take 95 over any mentioned

    80s Teen

@Josh Pitts I love Lloyd as much as anyone but he didn’t need to be held on every play like Harrison nor was he the X factor Polamalu and Woodson were

    Thorbringsthehammer

@80s Teen You either don’t remember much about watching Greg Lloyd play or never watched him play

    80s Teen

@Thorbringsthehammer lol dude I’m 51 and watched literally every Lloyd game. However you didn’t need to hold him to stop him on the edge. He was pushed out of the play like Harrison never was. Harrison literally was grabbed around the neck every play to the point that Dan Rooney mentioned it to the league. Lloyd was also great against the run and was good in coverage so I’m not putting him down. However his 3 All Pro seasons were all with HOF LB Green on the other side. And he did not give OCs nightmares as Woodson and Polamalu did. Woodson was drafted the same year as Lloyd and Woodson made the 75th all time team, Lloyd wasn’t even close. Again, not insulting him, he was one of the better D players of his era but he was never viewed, other than his personality, on the level of those three.

chris ayres

MrLotto

The reason I’m a Steelers fan!

GNXXRAY

My Favorite STEELER of All Time. I loved Lloyd.
John Stallworth was my 2nd Favorite but to me…LLOYD is truly one on the Best Ever. Just not long enough to get a Gold Jacket, but I keep praying

F32

Deserves to be in the NFL Hall of Fame far more than many that have already made it, not to mention he was basically the baddest man in the league at 225 lbs.

    Doubletake 123

He was a great player for a long time. He is certainly deserving,

Turn Tavern

Lloyd and Greene were a problem. My favorite OLB tandem of all time. If not for injuries, this man ends up with a couple more pro bowls and probably in the hall of fame. He was something else.

Thomas Fabrizio

95…The best to ever do it. Always will be my all time favorite..

W Wills

My favorite Pittsburgh Steeler ever one of the first football players I ever followed he’s a legend and should be in the Hall of Fame

LM

My favorite Steeler & my 1st jersey. He never gave up on plays until the whistle. HOF player 4 sure. Loved his Avoid☠ Lloyd w/skull & cross bones shirt & stadium sign

    manlaw77

Me too. Still have his jersey. Although it doesn’t fit any more.

Keith Stewart

Lloyd was and always will be my favorite Steelers linebacker of all time. Its a shame when I watch podcasts and see analysts mention the all time great Steelers defensive players and they never mention his name. I think its crazy!

Lonnie Knight

Him, Kevin Greene and rod woodson was the reason I fell in love with the Steelers

The Octopus Candle Company

I remember being in college and watching him play on a Monday night. That damn cage he wore on his mask. It looked like something out of Mad Max! I was a Steeler fan for life!

manlaw77

One of my favorite players of all time. Joe Greene is my favorite. A real man on the field 👏.
HOF should be begging him to join.
Thank you Greg Lloyd for your contributions to our team. 100 percent respect!
