The Break: Ready to Compete? | Dallas Cowboys 2022

The Cowboys might have a much better record than the Colts but we're not forgetting that Indy beat the Chiefs and took the Eagles to the wire.

Big Red TLC

Ambar checking her social media while the guys argue over coaching hiring practices for other teams is all of us watching this video. Let’s talk Cowboys, my guys! 😀

    JJ

@Orion XS You didn’t. If you actually watched you’d know they talked plenty about the Cowboys.

    Kyle Leinen

@JJ Half the video talking about other teams coaching hires is quite a lot for a Cowboys podcast.

    Big Red TLC

    @Orion XS Exactly.

    Bazatron Murphy

Keeping her head down while they are talking about people being qualified for a hire.

    Aaron Norton

    @Bazatron Murphy my sentiments exactly!!!

Kyle Leinen

Stumbled into Colts Break I guess

    JJ

Weird that they’d talk about the opponent. You must be new to podcasting.

    Kyle Leinen

@JJ Let’s talk about the opponent in reference to the Cowboys. Not the dos and don’ts of other teams coaching hires.

    JJ

@Kyle Leinen If you watched the video they did that plenty. Try watching and learning about the league, you might learn something.

COWBOYS & SPURS

Of course D has the crap take on Saturday.
He was a pro in a locker room m for over a decade. He’s well qualified to be a “Interim” HC

    JJ

Now give us his coaching resume.

Michael

I was just thinking about this…Back in the early 90’s, during the dynasty years, I subscribed to Dallas Cowboys Weekly. It was a paper (pre internet) that arrived in my mail every Thursday. I would patiently wait for it and receiving it was the highlight of my week. Sure we had some espn stuff..basically it was highlights from the previous week but not much until GameDay. Dallas Cowboys Weekly would break down the upcoming opponent in detail, list injuries, and had very good writers. I appreciated that paper so much. Now, with just a swipe…you know in an instant what’s happening with every facet of the Cowboys from the front office to the practice squad. I appreciate Broaddus and Eagleton. Boy what would I have given to have this kind of access in 1992.

    sunnydaze11

I was thinking of that the other day! I use to get that paper out of a newspaper stand in the 80’s….I was addicted to that thing!!

    Hebrew

Yep! I subscribed to it as well in the ‘80’s. Arrived Thursday like clockwork.

The Roomey rule actually hurts minorities. I as a minority would be pissed to know only reason Im there is to fill in a quota and comply by a rule. Rather than be there because hard work and qualities. I would decline an interview if I knew I was the only minority.

    Morgan Powell

I agree completely, I think it would humiliating to get an interview based on my skin color and not the work I put in. Just to satisfy a rule. The rule created the situation with Brian Flores earlier this year.

Lokey Joker

Nick Eatman “All the interceptions are over the Middle” against cover 2 with Dak Prescott forcing it over the middle for no reason at the most inopportune times…..

    Asmodeus

    dur dah derp nIcK eAtMaN…

    Brian Daniel

    D B learn before speaking

Michael

I thought former players jumping into coaching positions ended with the failures of Jason Garrett.

    JJ

Get over the Garrett era, that time is long gone.

Michael

Broaddus is absolutely 💯 correct. You go after Stefon Gillmore. This may be the most overrated CB in NFL history. He made his fame and money in the Belechek system. I remember him from South Carolina. I cannot tell you how many times I saw the back of his jersey chasing SEC WR’s after getting beat. Expose Stefon Gillmore. He is burnt toast and the weakest link. Gallup will ABUSE him.

Richard Smith

What if the owner hired a former black player with no coaching experience. Race shouldn’t matter. The problem was hired an outsider with no coaching experience.

Sir 757

Broadus is a beast lol

Rob estrello

I met Derick years ago….never thought he would be the next Lebron James. Victimhood at its best…Change todays show to The Woke…

Morgan Powell

Maybe it’s because teams don’t want another Brian Flores situation

Amir Hassan

His momma calls him Darius, I call him Darius 😂😂

Peter Serrano

Jeff Saturday’s name alone qualifies him to be the coach, haha, Now every adult knows, LIFE AIN’T FAIR! and “its not what you know, its who you know and how well they know each other” Whether that’s right or wrong we all know that is the way it works 90% of the time. Ethically speaking merit should hold precedence in employment. But we don’t live in an ethical world. And the bottom line is this , the owner hires who the owner wants to hire. With that said, If I were an owner and my priority was to win, then my 1st priority would be what is best for the team? What is best for the men who are out on the field. That will dictate who I hire to lead them, Coach them. X’s and O’s are important, but I believe the best coaches are the ones who are he Alpha and with that alpha-ness he needs to be respect from staff and players and a strong motivator. Matters not the experience to me. Though experience history of a person can tell you some of what you will get with that person if you hire them. I wish Jeff Saturday well, but not against my team the cowboys.

teampenn2007

What if Jeff Saturday was black? Would we be having this conversation? Would this be unfair to white or Hispanic coaches? Isn’t the Rooney rule meant for equal opportunity, not diversity?

Merrol Ray

the young guy arguing saturday is a “buddy hire” and not qualified… he played o line for peyton manning. he has enough cred for a chance right there.
you could say the same for a coach who has never played the game.
what does he know about football?

and there are plenty of those…

i always wondered why a team never gave ron jaworski a crack at an offensive coordinator job.
he broke down opposing defenses every week for espn.

i think romo would be a better play caller than kellen moore… but what do i know?

godlikemonolith

The nepotism and good ole boy network in coaching excludes loads of people who could successfully coach an NFL team. Its rife.

godlikemonolith

Ambar’s negativity bias is off the charts!

Carti Boi

Bro just say guys ain’t no damn female head coaching an nfl team. Damn Bryan. All this politically correct bs. Other than that excellent show as always. I love everyone on this team. The break has personally made the other shows taste like kool-aid wit no sugar.
