Buddha

Not a great hire, but luckily all he has to do is be better than Nolan and that’s pretty easy to do.

    Buddha

    @Deezboyz Justwin cry some more.

    Deezboyz Justwin

    Buddha

    @PharaohDuo no.

Roy Martinez

    Tony Pugh

    DWare is an independent fitness guy now..but if we were thing 3-4 maybe..

Justin D

I hope Dan Quinn comes in hungry and is ready to turn the Cowboys into a top 5 defense.

Shawn and Shotgun the 68 C10

Like for real, can we fire the GM please? Asking for a friend.

Six 47

Who was the coach when the falcons blew the lead in the superbowl? Oh, Our new coordinator… great!

    R. Shknbake

    We’re not asking him to score points. He was hired to coach defense. Anyone they hire.. you’d be bitching lol

    Pepes Lives Matter

    @PharaohDuo yes, Quinn signed a bunch of really good free agents and pieced that “Legion of Boom” together with what Seahawks had already drafted in the 2 drafts prior to his arrival.

    PharaohDuo

    @Pepes Lives Matter sorry I was thinking wrong, but hey at least he didn’t let the team get old and rusty with him at coordinator they still played good. that’s the least I can say after he left that defense became nothing after that.

    Tyler Durden

    @PharaohDuo how did Quinn draft the defensive players needed when the legion of boom was already built before he was even in Seattle??? The 2 years Quinn was in Seattle they didn’t draft a single defensive player that had an impact on their team, so you’re completely wrong. Quinn had nothing to do with the legion of boom, he showed up when they were already great.

    Ricky like Bobby

    @PharaohDuo funny that they were still #1 and #3 in defense when he left. You literally have no clue what you’re talking about.

Fire Jerry Jones

    Tyler Durden

    We all wish.

Jimmy Rudd

Talk Randy white defensive line coach

Tony Pugh

Maybe we can get some of Quinn’s former players like Tak Mckinley

    Tyler Durden

    @APJ yeah, let’s bring a cancer into the locker room. Great idea.

    APJ

    @Tyler Durdencalm down

    Tyler Durden

    @APJ you calm down.

    APJ

    @Tyler Durden yes ma’am

Larry Ford

Yes nolan! His defense was out dated!!! (Cowboys “65” I’m out)

    Rmf 22

    its a similar scheme to what the Ravens use..hybrid style system..and really teams are in nickel or dime most the time so 3-4 or 4-3 doesn’t mean much..it’s a matter if being able to teach it and having the players that fit it..not a matter of outdated..Colts have a great defense and run a very simple scheme thats been around forever..just need a good coach and better players

Larry Ford

Drew prewson, the catch!!! Against the Vikings!!!

Norm Lee

Fortify the OL. The team has poured most of its cap resources on the position players–not to mention Prescott ‘s pending monstrous deal–so it makes more sense to solidify the base of that unit now. The defense has so many holes it will take several off-season of draft picks and FAs to be a decent unit. By that time, the offense will have become too old and expensive that it will require a rebuild. A strong offense is this team’s best chance for immediate success than trying to rebuild a flawed defense –there isn’t enough time and the past several draft classes did not produce any quality depth. For all the media hype about McClay, his drafts in recent years have been arguably average.

    Bob Bob

    We still got a couple years of Zach Martin and Collins, Tyron should be back at least till next year (he’s under contract for 3 more and doubt he will retire before that’s up). We have time to rebuild that. You can always throw a 5-6 round pick on a olineman this year tho but you need to POUR these picks on the defense side of the ball. You have too. You don’t have money to go get DL, Corners, Safety and heathy linebackers. You don’t have a choice.

    Norm Lee

    @Bob Bob look at the past several drafts and see how many defensive players were taken in the first three rounds and how many of those are still with the team. This organization hasn’t shown the ability to identify and develop defensive players. Taco was a first round bust. Byron wasn’t re-signed. Van der each is basically Sean Lee 1.5 –can’t stay on the field. Collins wasn’t re-signed. Awuzie and Lewis have been disappointments and may walk. Gregory has either been suspended or injured for more games than played. They have poured enormous resources on the defensive side and have flopped. That is a big reason why they are what they are. Repeating the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

    PharaohDuo

    @Norm Lee Collins wasn’t resigned but have you seen what he has done for rhe raiders for 6 million nothing, and I loved Byron Jones a lot but it’s what happens. the only good defensive player they should have resigned was Byron that’s about it. but him alone didn’t make a big difference

    Norm Lee

    @PharaohDuo you missed the point. Dallas and mcclay have shown little ability to identify and develop defensive players. That is why I believe they need to shore up their OL in the draft to ensure their offensive unit–where they have invested heavily in the position players–is strong and before it ages of prices out. Continuing to throw limited resources into defensive players which this team has shown little capability of building, is insane. The offense will need to carry the team and needs to be fortified to extend any window for success the team might have.

    PharaohDuo

    @Norm Lee okay but why would you keep throwing offensive players at them? let’s say you end in a shoot out you really think will win in a shoot out game because of our o line hell no. and as when it come to drafting defensive players I would like to see quinn actually drafting them instead of mcklay

Casa De Finch

I’m so glad to be done talking about 3-4. D law is our best defensive player he is a 4-3 de don’t over think yourself

    Devil Dog

    Agree 100%

William Burney

Dan Quinn was a great signing, he was a really good Coordinator with Seattle, He coached the legendary legion of Boom, he’s got many years of experience, he’s been Coaching on some level since 1994, The Cowboys are about to be Quinning

    Devil Dog

    I just hope the Draft falls great for us so we get some Defensive players who will excel in his scheme.

DALLAS

Get Earl Thomas!!

Warwick Dennis

I think hiring mike Nolan was a bad hire at the time, there wasn’t enough time to change this defense to 3-4, but it his fault for not checking his personnel

Thomas Sciallo

I would love to get a hybrid defense but the players we have can’t make that adjustment. Get the players then slowly transition

Devil Dog

If they are able to manipulate the Cap to sign FAs, I hope instead of signing a few over the hill DTs they sign ONE good, young healthy player who looks to be on the ascent. If we could just get one good one, I think with the Draft we can fix the D enough to be competitive.
And I read somewhere that this year’s D was either the 2nd worst or worst in Cowboy’s history. That includes the 1960 expansion team. Think about that for a minute.
If Dan Quinn can makeover our D to be half of what The Legion of Boom was, then with our Offense we would have a serious shot at being competitive.
And I’m afraid Belichik will have to wait to prove that he’s a great coach…..WITHOUT BRADY. He’s not gonna get lucky and fall into another 6th Round GOAT.

Tyrone Wright Jr

Lol people keep bringing up jeff heath. Did they not see the horrendous Raiders defense this year???

Omar Cardenas

Romo to Witten to beat the Giants on the last play.

Rmf 22

alot of teams run the same scheme for yrs and people aren’t screaming for change cuz it works..and most of them are schemes that have been around for yrs..just decide on a damn scheme..from there hire the right coach’s and draft the right players to execute it..we keep talking about coaches and players..fine np..but could it be the front office and even McClay?? are the players he’s drafting really as good as we think? maybe we just don’t have enough quality players top to bottom..we’re top heavy..so all 3 phases have to come together with choosing a scheme,, hiring the right coach to run it and then drafting players that can execute it well..
