Jock James

If Johnson and Washington look like they can be reliable starters would they trade Juju? He is in the last year of his contract and they probably won’t resign him. Could they get a number one draft pick from the right team for him? It’s something they should consider and probably are.

    Rad Rob

@Dylan McClintock Yes, Dylan, let’s be fair when comparing AB’s and Ju Ju’s first 3 years AS A WR! AB was only a special team player his rookie year, maybe getting ONE pass thrown his way per game and nothing else = therefore a fair comparison of AB’s first 3 years AS A WR must begin his second year. AB in years 2 through 4 averaged over 1100 yards a year versus Ju Ju’s 900…plus AB was simultaneously setting all time (HOF recognized) special teams return yards in those same years.
Now that we are not being “unfair” (as you request) we see that there is no comparison between AB’s first three years getting WR targets and Ju Ju’s much lesser production as a WR target. Fair is fair.

    Dylan McClintock

Rad Rob when did i say anything about abs stats, i was talking about megatron who in his first three years had worse stats than juju if you look at per game stats and stats that arent volume numbers

    Rad Rob

@Dylan McClintock You mention that Ju Ju did not have Ben one of his first three years, yet you neglect to mention that Megatron did not have Matthew Stafford his first year (instead having journeyman John Kitna as his QB) = so that’s a push and therefore a fair comparison.
i do admire you standing alone as the only person i have ever heard who tries to compare Ju Ju to the true greatness that was Calvin Johnson. For that unique comparison attempt i give you style points, even if not substantive points.

    Rad Rob

@Dylan McClintock Your following comment an hour ago is when you (not i) brought AB into the conversation: “Dylan McClintock
    56 minutes ago
Rad Rob antonio brown was 5’10 so juju is taller but slightly slower, juju had more yards per game a higher yards per target and catch percentage we are comparing first 3 years so even with a down year those stats are true, the only major difference is megatron had more tds per game but it was close”

    Dylan McClintock

Rad Rob when i start talking about stats i pretty clearly switch from an ab size and speed comparison to a stat comparison with megatron

Why are people so hard up to trade JUJU? He had 2 πŸ’© qb’s last yr plus was injured! Simmer down Steelers fans..always so quick to want to get rid of somebody! EVERY player in the NFL has a down year your not gona get 88 tds a year for 20 years straight so stfu already let the man play

    Ryan Irwin- Diehl

Because unless he’s putting up 1600 yards and 10 TDs, the money he’s going to demand should go to TJ

    C Longo

@PAIZ exactly! These fans are basically saying if he has a bad year then trade him…how you gona get a trade worth any value if he has a bad year? And if he has a huge year they will say hes not worth the $ πŸ˜‚ either way steelers fans are never happy and go ahead keep trading away then the steelers will end up like the lions browns bengals and dolphins…take a look at the steelers way! They way we do it is the reason why we never have losing seasons we keep our core of players until they are outa gas and we keep winning while the TRADEING happy teams continue to have a revolving door and a piss poor roster

    C Longo

@PAIZ its the younger fans that come up with these insane ideas πŸ˜‚

    THE FRIENDLY GAMER

@PAIZ well I mean I know it’s a business and they are professionals but I mean it is only a game lol
    Not really their “job”
The lucky ones are gifted enough to make a roster and make a name for themselves

C Longo

Johnson & Claypool on the outside Juju back in the slot washington to stretch the field 4 wide

    C Longo

@Rad Rob ok but didnt juju flurish better in the slot??? Be smart not stubborn..JUJU is NOT a #1 he is a natural slot wake up Genius

    C Longo

@Rad Rob and im no juju groupie i said hes not a true #1 he is a slot wr where hes not doubled i doubt you played any football at all

    Rad Rob

@C Longo You will see that before you started commenting that i had already said the exact thing that you are now saying. if you look at Jock James comment below that Charles Donohue called Ju Ju a number 1 and i called him out on that and i said that Ju Ju is much more of a number 3 (slot) WR
    “Rad Rob
    1 hour ago (edited)
@Charles Donohue Ju Ju has NEVER been the number 1, old or new. He is one of, if not the, best underneath WR’s (often called the number 3) in the NFL.
Argument could be made that he is also a great number 2, because he was one of the best when he was afforded AB as the number 1.
Undeniably Ju Ju is great at fighting for the ball in mid-air and has one of the CLEANEST AND FUNNEST PERSONALITIES IN SPORTS.
Yet, those accolades aside, HE SIMPLY HAS NEVER HAD THE MAKE-UP OF A NUMBER 1.

Johnson looks to be a better number 1. Also Claypool is much faster and taller than Ju Ju, so he too would make a better number 1 than would Ju Ju.

Other than believing Ju Ju’s own egotistic self-promotion, there is no evidence that Ju Ju should (or even could) be the Steelers’ #1 WR”

So, not only do we agree, C Longo, but i wrote it well before you have. πŸ˜‰

    C Longo

@Rad Rob i didnt read your whole story πŸ˜’ you want a πŸ† for saying it 1st??? If thats the only glory you get in life is being the guy who said it first then man your in for a long one

    Rad Rob

@C Longo Props to you for being feisty and aggressive in your commentary! Apparently our writing styles and attitudes are as similar as our content.
I accept your acknowledgement and forgive your backhanded insults.

LET’S GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!

Ryanator

If the team can avoid being snakebitten with injuries this year, they should make the playoffs. Especially with that fire defense. We only averaged 18 PPG last year, and had 3 losses by less than 7 points. With even an average offense, they would’ve made it last year too.

I think Highsmith is there to help get TJ, and Bud some breaks here and there. Help keep them fresh as the season goes along.

    Ryan Irwin- Diehl

Lol he’s there to replace Bud next season after we let him go too

Bobby Macblain

Antoine Brooks could take the spot left by Barron, he can be a nickel backer, but also don’t forget about Ulysses Gilbert who I think can potentially become a starter with his dynamic athleticism, and his speed. Kinda like a less talented Shazier haha.

Bobby Macblain

Man I love Kevin Dotson. I think he was grossly underrated in the draft, and he somehow didn’t get an invite to the combine.

    Rad Rob

Yes…though J Wobble Hargrave was also an underrated D lineman who was a lifelong Steelers fan and Steelers unceremoniously let him go in favor of singing overrated Dud Dupree; so enjoy Dotson while you can.
