Our defense kept the Jaguars in the cage. Davis Mills played his heart out, as well as many others on offense. Definitely a much more consistent game than the others have been.
Lovie Smith has gotten a lot from a little this season. That is why he should remain as our DC. The guy knows defensive football!
Mills is improving. And you gotta give him props cause remember … he was a 3rd round pick (he barely played any college games and was still a 3rd round pick) and he’s playing with the Texans. Texans have no line or a running back. So we shouldn’t be too hard on him.
He performed well against Jacksonville yesterday.
200 yards and two TDs.
Only one INF and two sacks.
Cautious optimist.
Next up, the Chargers, 49ers, and Titans. Let’s see how he does against better defenses.
But, Savage, your point about the lack of an offensive line, a good RB, and experienced wide outs, is well taken!
I think we should look more to the RB or TE position in the draft. We can keep Mills.
@Ethan Gill yeah we need to draft a TE or RB but not in the first round. We can always find good RBs in the middle rounds. I mean the top 5 RBs in the NFL rn we’re all drafted in the 2nd to mid rounds
I don’t actually count this game for mills until he plays the chargers, an 49ers. I knew they would beat the jag. But he still isn’t the future qb for the Texans. He needs more time to develop before he gets a full season under his belt.

As dysfunctional as the Jack Easterby Texans are, they somehow have managed to record three wins.
Two came against the worst from 2020, while the other was a loss by Tennessee.
I still believe the Texans have the worst actual team in the league.
Jacksonville ought to be better, but Urban Meyer took a mess and made it worse. A new coach could turn things around in 2022.
Detroit won its second game yesterday, but they have lost a bunch of close games this season. They could easily have five or six wins at this point….
Back to the Texans, Davis Mills threw for 200 yards and two TDs. Cautious optimist. His performance came against the Jags. In the season opener, Tyrod Taylor had a similar performance against the Jags. The next three weeks, Mills will face three much better defenses in the LA Chargers, 49ers, and Titans. How will he fare?
Kudos to other Texans who performed well yesterday, including Brandin Cooks, Garret Wallow, Tavierre Thomas, Tremon Smith, and Ka’imi Fairbairn, to name a few.
