so many game winning fumbles

    Steel City Stoner

The Johnson one was understandable but the Muth one isn’t, could’ve just kicked the FG but Tomlin’s pride too big. Mason is a bum.

    Joshua F

@Steel City Stoner I agree about mason, but come on man you can’t knock them for wanting to get a little closer on the kick

    JustlikeMike8

He honestly didn’t do that bad given the circumstances. His athleticism was definitely nice for a change and he saved another pair of turnovers with those bad snaps from KG. Mason definitely threw some ducks out there, but for the most part I blame it on the play calling. We called 50 pass plays when we should’ve leaned on the run more – and last time I checked Mason wasn’t in charge of calling plays. There was something to be optimistic about in OT too since he did lead us down the field to put us in scoring position, but those two fumbles cost us the game. No need to bash him for going in on less than a days notice knowing the game plan wasn’t built for him in the first place.

PAC

We had a chance to move into 1st 😢😢😢😢😢😢.

Hello my Steelers brothers and sisters, I rather the win but a tie is better than a lost, I said last week, about these guys securing the ball, now we should’ve put that game away, when my man dontae fumbled the football, after mason slung it to him for a major yardage pick up, he really did all he could to fight for more yards, but ball security was the issue, these guys been doing this for many years, dating back from college on down through highschool, when playing in this type of wet slippery weather ☁️, that ball need to be secured, simple stuff is what bury us, and the post game is what noone want to hear, is :: I should’ve this or that, let me send this without a long text.

    MickDundee81

So what? This isn’t a playoff worthy team. By any stretch

    Jimmy Baker

Regardless of where we are in weeks or months, these guys been doing this long enough, to know that it’s crunch time, they know that the offense isn’t nowhere near close as to what it was pass wise, earlier around this time earlier last season, the defense has been busting their tails since the beginning of the season, so now this is to show you how much the offense, is almost costing us football games, it hurt to see us in these type of positions, but y’all know we got to still keep pace regardless, and also even if teams in our division aren’t are winning games either, we can’t rely on that because we still have to play them, we got to play more poise and smarter football, Steelers nation, we don’t have a bad team, every other team in the league is going through struggles and changes, it’s how we finishing games y’all. We can’t continue playing on the edge, and y’all know I’m telling the truth, I’m not gonna knock our Steelers, but they continue putting themselves in situations every week, until we totally relying on our defense to keep us in games, that’s not gonna cut it, we can come on here pointing at this or that person, but they are weighing heavely on our defense way too much, and that’s just the facts, and y’all see the same thing I see week in and week out, my goodness at some point, something need to change, don’t even blame our offensive line, we can still use reciever scemes in the backfield, dubbling down on blocks like before, and the reciever actually becomes a running back, as Ebron did before and score points, we got to do more on offense, and stop leaving our defense in these long fought, football games every darn week, the defense is healthy and we need those guys healthy, especially deep in the season, for division and playoff rounds. We have a good team and good players, but the offense really got to step it up Steelers nation, when mason did put the balls right on them, they either muffed it or fumble it, so the offense today, it either was one or the other, that cumulated issues, this is an eye 👁️ opener, but I thought the Chicago game was an 👁️ opener, but evidently it wasn’t, but it’ll become an issue with the defensive players before long, because they saving our romps every week, if receivers hit the market later, then I suggest we grab one, and forget about feelings, because we want to win football games, I love my Steelers and always will, but before it ever becomes beefing between, the defense and offense, pull them out like Mike Tomlin did last year, and play who wants to win football games, because rather we want to face it or not, if this offense side of the ball don’t shape up, we got big problems later on, and regardless if it’s not playoffs until later on down the line, we’re not gonna make it into the playoffs, because our division ain’t looking at how many others losing games, they gonna torture us to try to put us out of the playoffs, or division rounds to not make the playoffs, this more serious than it may look, our division will be very competitive, later on in the season. let’s go black and gold!!!!!!!

    Jimmy Baker

Rumor or not, but the Steelers have had eyes on Kenny Pickett, and he’s a great pocket passer, he actually fit the Steelers offense package, because he’s a very great pocket passer, and 90% of the time he’s in the pocket, making great plays, I really love his style of play, he’s perfect for our offense!!!!!!!

    jw1

@Jimmy Baker And we’ll win just enough games to put us out of the running for him in the draft

thegrandarchitect1

U can see the difference in arm strength and timing comparing Rudolph to Big Ben. Looked like he was throwing rainbows out there instead of ropes. Receivers were waiting an extra split second for the ball to get there.

    Andrew Cavada

It’s not arm strength mason just waits an extra second to throw the ball. He’s not nearly as comfortable as Ben

    thegrandarchitect1

@Andrew Cavada I can see a rainbow when he throws the football.

Victory Asher

If Mason wasn’t throwing up rainbows 🌈 he was throwing gravediggers. Tired of this dude.

    Scott Stevens

Bro, hes a young QB, over all he didnt do that bad

    Alley Oop !

    🤣

Joe Edwards

The Steelers always play at the level of teams below 500 when they them. Its frustrating.

    Alley Oop !

@B Sec players make plays or dont

    Alley Oop !

@B Sec You need a comment coach.

    khor201

You paying attention to the league? Everyone loses to bad teams

    Mike Bordonaro

What level do you expect from a team missing 2/3 of their DL, 2/3 of their top WRs, their starting QB, and then in game they lose their #1 CB, their DPOY OLB, and both starting guards? Steelers fans are weird. After all the injuries and Ben out on COVID, the teams were pretty even on paper.

    Alley Oop !

    @Mike Bordonaro 💯🙏

NightRyder16

Talk about a damn noodle arm! Did anyone else see how long his throws to the outside was taking to get there? And the deep balls were all under thrown as well! Smh this dude hasn’t progressed at all.. He is what he is.. Landry Jones 2.0

Rich1285

Mason Rudolph “ya know” count: 68

MickDundee81

Been watching the Steelers play since the early 90s. By far the past 4 years have been painfully hard to watch and it’s just getting uglier, more predictable. That poor defensive unit

    bigsnake_inc-123

Can’t blame the defense when they show up every week. Our offense can’t put up points

    Fred

The play calling wasnt that bad aside from that last throw that resulted in a fumble. The issue is the QB play. If Mason wasnt throwing high rainbows the offense would have scored a ton. Here’s to hoping we can find a good qb in the next couple of drafts.

wm strydr

Two takeaways from this game, 1: that was a safety! As soon as they grabbed him he stepped on the goal line, then the whistle blew…that was the game! Why no argument? 2: this was masons chance to prove he is Ben’s replacement, he failed, Ben used his legs as a rookie, Mason did not, he can never be Ben’s replacement. As a backup Quarterback in the NFL you have to be ready to take the reigns Mason was not!

    wm strydr

@e r I played football for as many years as my body would allow, in all western Pennsylvania weather conditions, and that was many years ago when football fields were horrendous, that’s no excuse everyone had the same weather and these guys are professional players there is no again excuse for throwing up ducks. Quack quack!

    Just Learning

Also the last fumble the Detroit defender lead with the helmet to cause the fumble

    #TDR Taedo

We’ve known for years mason isn’t ready tj take the reigns. Like they said on pft. We deserved this for still employing mason as a backup.

    Shawn Nancarrow

@ascanr umm actually it was Ray Ray, not diontae (you must have been drunk) and after meril hodge diagnosed it, mccloud was in the wrong place 🤷‍♂️ but let’s keep attacking low hanging fruit lol

    ascanr

@Shawn Nancarrow the fing ball hit the ground about 3 feet in front of Ray ray WIDE OPEN in front end of EZ. That clown Mason was not pressured either…it was an epic fail on Mason’s part. F Meril fing Hodge. I couldn’t give two sh$ts re: his “diagnosis”. No UNFORTUNATELY i wasnt drunk. The game would have been much more tolerable if i were. Did Meril have an explanation too for his complete miss on Dionte in the slant wide open which would probably had been a TD?? Did Meril also have an explanation for the D allowing a high school RB 200 yrds??

Mr. Wonderful

Steelers always find a way to screw it up.

    Thomas Bayer

Oh yeah? The Steelers are super bow contenders, try being a lions fan…like me.

Steve Kosak

Mason you are not our future … i think he put a ! on it today . We did not loose !!GO STEELERS!!!!!!!

Eric Johnson

They are just not a goOD team they might find a way to sneak into playoffs but it dose not matter far from contending for SB

Lil Wheel

“Was the ball wet or something?” 😂

The Truth is

I wish that on nfl field Mason will be as good as his attitude. Class guy.

John M

I thought on holding calls, as long as you’re moving your feet with the defender you can grab hold of the chest plate? Cause it looked to me Dan Moore was moving his feet with the guy and he just happened to fall on the Najee TD brought back.

    jefffowlerr

That holding call was bullshit he didn’t even have ahold of him refs wasn’t calling anything 😴 they should have just pulled up a chair

Baseball God

Does anyone still want to replace Big Ben with Rudolph? 😂🤣

Gary W O'Neal

He could play every day for the rest of his life and he wouldn’t be sharp… He’d make a great High School starting QB

    Ellie Gonzales

Funny. He dropped dimes on the Browns last year.

Michael Dickson

Yes It is natural to catch the ball and try to make a second effort running to get more yards and reach the goal line. You never know what is going to happen. I think sometimes you just need to take what you get and drop or make damn sure you have and keep possession of the ball.

Jenn K

I’m proud of you Mason and entire team present absent prior present future

khor201

Ppl bsng on but he is a good back up no doubt, if he could control the velocity on his throws he wouldn’t be bad, he did get them in position to win n wasn’t his fault they loss
