I agree our tackling was bad, and we need Linebacker help . Geno didn’t scare anyone, Lock needs to start or change Geno’s game plan

    MG

Luckily for us we have Jordyn Brooks who’s a master tackler.

    Lincoln

Geno had more total yards, no turnovers and most of his incompletions were his receivers not completing the catch, I love both guys and both did well but people need to stop hating on geno

    Jansenko_ _1206

geno showed his constant issue of holding the ball too long, not saying he played bad but he shows that he still struggled being decisive on who he wants to throw the ball too, that 3rd down sack he took was awful and was all on him

    kyle nadon

@Jansenko_ _1206 i think i know what sack you are talking about. Every receiver was locked up. And too many dropped balls while he was qb. I do hope lock wins the competition. He has to earn it by protecting the ball. Pete will not start him if plays like he did in the past

Richard Kosoff

Drew Lock just looked more athletic and sharp than Geno. His passes really zipped out of his hand.
I’m surprised Geno did as well as he did, though you can tell that he is really determined to make the most of this opportunity.

    Liam's Having Fun

Geno played against no. 1 Defense and Lock player against no. 2 and 3 Defenses. It would be good to see when lock plays against no. 1 Defense.

    Anthony Bane

@Liam’s Having Fun nope geno and Lock played against 2nd string and 3rd team defense did you see Heyward tj watt minkah out there lol 1st teamers play week 2

    Elvis Guitar

Gino will win the job because of Pete being loyal . Gino is good until you get to the red zone . Hey coach , points are what wins games . Hope Gino can produce in the red zone . Statistics mean nothing unless they produce wins

    Alan Armitige #LMH

    Go Hawks!

    Liam's Having Fun

@Anthony Bane yea but neither was ours.

TheWizzard15

I think Pete is really leaning toward Geno… I personally like Lock

    kyle nadon

I think its still a open competition. I think geno in the beginning was more comfortable in the offense. I think how pete has been wording the competition is for couple of reasons. Geno has been here. Its respect for geno. It takes off some unnecessary pressure off of lock. It allows him to earn it. I do think pete trust geno to take care of the ball more than lock. Its all about the ball. I think lock has more upside. If lock can take care of the ball. No stupid interceptions or fumbling it like he did yesterday he will win the starting job.
I think has more of the possibility growing into a good QB. I think what we see from geno is the best we will ever see.

    Sydney Smith

Agreed I like Lock better also!

    Alan Armitige #LMH

    @kyle nadon agreed

    SD Kout

    @kyle nadon agreed

danny maynard

Go Seahawks!🦅💙💚🏈

Kevin H

Woollen is an absolute stud, but when he missed that tackle on the running back, that made me pretty nervous!

    kyle nadon

A lot of missed tackles all around. This year will require a lot of patience with us fans. Im loving our draft class.

    james larson

    @kyle nadon I totally agree

orurour

.Lock needs to start next 2 games&see if Geno handles 4th quarter pressure&play Lb’s iyiegbuniwe&Jones & Muse & Donkor, hawks know what Brooks, Barton, Bellore, have.

Michael Whitwell

Every time I hear Pete talk about Drew, it’s like he’s upset he’s wrong about Geno so far. Be ok with moving to Drew.

    Nico Sena

    just like fangio lmao

    Chris234

protecting the football is probably the #1 thing Pete preaches so a sack fumble on a game winning drive that he should’ve seen is a huge deal

    Sydney Smith

I agree, keep Lock as new QB. He showed good energy during the 1st pre-season game. Geno lacks luster.

The LBs missing tackles and DTs not clogging the middle were the big concern observed in this game. This team was great via run last year on D, but didn’t show it tonight. Of course, starters not in there that much, but the backup CBs did better than the backup safeties and LBs.

Loved the effort from Adams on d-line, as well as Harris earlier on.

Really, both teams offenses did better than you’d expect for 1st preseason game. And while Geno might not be as flashy as Lock, his completion % was good: to me, the bigger issue on offense was some of the backup o-line guys whiffing on some run game blocks when only a yard or two was needed for a 1st down, and the play calling of a WR screen on long 3rd downs (blew up by D every time).

A good beginning for 1st full speed & full contact game – now we see who improves the most for the 2nd game.

#Drew did great! 👏👏👏. Almost won the game there! Great job Hawwwks!! 💙💚💙💚. Let #Drew show the Broncos what they missed! Let him play against RW on September 12! Hear me Coach Pete! 🙏. 10 VS 15 points! Obviously, the better QB is the one who put in the most points! Don’t be blinded by society’s clamor! This is a game of sports 🏈!

William Atkinson

The thing I see with Geno is he is a slow starter, I don’t see him as someone who can catch up in the later quarters. Once they begin to see and read the defense better, Drew should be fine, he took the responsibility for it and said he will learn from it. This game just showed what they have to work on and to get the jitters out.

Andrew Holub

Homer looked big and fast. I liked how he carried and caught the ball today.

    Mike

homer is an effin DAWG, dude throws himself around like he is 40 lb heavier than he is

Cameron Cone

First game, young guys and all new defensive coaches. Couple more weeks to learn and get it together. This was an eye opener, we just gotta capitalize on our mistakes

Adam Walker

More good than bad today ! fun to see them play hard ! Can’t wait to see what happens when we have the starters click ! Lots to learn from.. and challenge men to do in today’s game .nice work Seahawks!

JT

Drew lock looked more poised and in control, good RB depth all the way through this year, O-line looked solid other than the strip sack, gotta clean up the missed tackles and mis communication but the young DB’s and Mafe/Taylor show a lot of upside for that defense

    Kyle White

It was a sack fumble but I agree with everything else you said

    JT

@Kyle White what?? That’s the same thing

    Alan Armitige #LMH

    Agreed

Xavier

Geno has better feet work.. he drops back smooth … but Drew is the better QB.. no doubt .. the Offense plays better with Drew under center

Ernesto Nava

I feel like geno has taken to much influence from Russell Wilson. He was running out of the pocket thinking he had pressure but could of stayed in pocket a little longer and made clean throws.

Not important

Lock was great, cross looks amazing, homer was surprisingly well, need to see more Kenneth walker plays I think he has more to show

P Money

Gino Smith has an incredible arm, Just wish he could be more decisive. and that is the reason I have to go team Drew, I don’t know how good this guy is, but I do like how decisive he is!

RanInThaCut

The rbs looked great! Mafe looked good. Gotta tackle better but it’s just the first pre season

Cameron Robinson

Great learning game, I couldn’t be prouder team!!! Keep pushin positive!! #Hawks4Life 💚💪🏾👊🏾💯💙

    Alan Armitige #LMH

    GO HAWKS!
