“Tre played a good solid football game” tre needs to get some confidence or something because I’ve defended him for years saying he is good just young he will get better but now I think he is honestly bad time to make him feel pressured so he steps up or not if not trade or cut him

    Joe Lee

Opposing completion rate is 83.3% against Tre! He might as well not even play at those rates! No one is going to take him in a trade.

    mArked4death 07

@Joe Lee to be fair tho, i was shocked they had tre on devante parker for most of the game, that was brutal haha

    Joe Lee

@mArked4death 07 Technically, we play zone, so Miami matched Devante on Tre. Their strength against our weakest player. Unfortunately Ken Norton is not much of a D coordinator to be able to adjust. He seems to only know LB position, not defensive scheme.

    Glow 44

@Joe Lee Seattle is not going to move one corner to another side, they have never done that. Seattle as you said plays zone, not man. That’s how they play and what they have done for years. Very little changes have occurred over the years that Pete has been our coach. Pete is credited for inventing the Seattle cover 3 zone, he picks defensive coordinators to run his scheme. He will not let Norton run anything else, that’s what they play primarily.

With that said the biggest changes we have seen have come lately with the addition of Jamal Adams. His blitz rate is about 33%. When Kam played the same strong safety position he rarely blitzed. And traditionally in the Seattle cover 3, teams rely on their front 4 and rarely blitz. Usually the biggest wildcard or question about the cover 3 is what the free safety decides to do. Earl was able to cover a lot of ground and made it difficult for defenses to know where he would be exactly. Adams even though technically a strong safety is playing a sort of Earl Thomas role, but instead of running around robbing routes he is blitzed more. Teams are unsure of what he will do before the snap, and this makes Seattle much different than in previous years. More unpredictable.

Also Seattle is changing coverages some and not playing cover 3 every snap. Although they played it safe with Jamal out last week and played cover 2 the whole game…hence no big plays were given up.

    Joe Lee

@Glow 44 The main reason we are blitzing more is the lack of pass rush. Without the blitz, like game against Miami which has one of the weakest O-line we will face this year, only managed 1 sack and hand full of pressures. Good coaching is about understanding the strength and weakness to make the most of the opportunity and make adjustments. That is what is happening with the offense this year. When we have a glaring weakness on one side of the ball where the CB is giving up 83.3% completion rate, adjustments have to be made. Doing exactly same thing over and over and expecting different result is insanity!
Pete did not invent the cover 3 zone, but that worked when your talent on defense was better than the opposing talent in the offense, and with assumption that the pass rush can also pressure the QB to release the ball early. Without a pass rush, you can’t effectively play zone! With no pass rush, all the offense has to do is to over load one side for deep crossing middle because the WR gets time to find the soft spot. When we do blitz, it leaves an opening on his side, where they can take advantage if they pick up the blitz. Pretty much all of the good teams have figured this out. Hence look at where our Defense has ranked last 2-3 years, and continue to get worse year over year.
Also Seattle has played man with Sherm following a receiver, but only on specific situations.

Caleb Wagner

They finally turned up the volume!

    Caleb Tryhane

Yeah! Can’t they put a limiter on this audio or something? Crank it up like the way us 12’s like it!

    jeremy manion

Lol, I couldn’t hear anything in my truck listening to the post-game yesterday

    danyelgunner

    Yes lol

Verified Mamba

Stop giving tre excuses. He is probably the worst corner in the NFL be straight up with him

    Thomas Baldwin

Your stuck on a husky sled in the middle of a blizzard. One of your dogs isn’t pulling his weight. Do you complain and shout insults at the slacking husky and remove him from the sled, or do you try and encourage him? It’s not like there’s other huskys just lying around to replace him… I say this because It’s not like there’s big time corners waiting to be signed by the Seahawks on the cheap!

    Verified Mamba

Thomas Baldwin anyone else but tre. Give one of the practice squad guys a try. Look at Ryan Neal and his emergence

    Clinton Alford

    Ryan Neal is ready

    mArked4death 07

@Verified Mamba agreed, i think we had to play him tho this last week. Should change this Sunday tho

Next we got the Vikings there 1and 3 lets get this win before bye week

sbloom73

I’d like to see Neal step in left corner when Jamal returns.

    Da 1

    Yes! My thought exactly.

    Avery Jones

Dunbar has been playing great, and he’s likely going to be back before or at the same time as Jamal, why would we bench him?

danyelgunner

I love my coach! coolest person out there

Robin Rawson

Hats off to the Seahawks. Just love having bragging rights!!!!! These guys and all the coaches rock!!!!

James Madison

Hard work, not skin color, means success? Diversity not first concern? Not inclusive! But successful? Yes.

Alfredo Losoya

Its common sense! Get rid of ken Norton and get a new damn defense of coordinator!!!

Nick King Televised

Seahawks need an elite pass rusher. Make it happen John Schneider! Trade away one of our TE, RB,’s and a draft pick for a good DE

mArked4death 07

Please let adams and dunbar be ready to roll!
