Personally, I’ve never been one for motivational speeches like they do in huddles before the game, find them cheesy and cringey. I mean, if you’re in a uniform, on game day, on the field, and you’re still not sure about how much effort you feel like putting in to help your team succeed, you probably have no business being there in the first place. I’m kicking myself self but for the life of me I can’t remember which Hard Knocks(?) coach refused to engage in that sort of thing saying he’d release anyone who needed extra motivation to show up and do their job. My sentiments exactly.
