All things considered, I think he’s done a fine job this year. Outside of Slay, Cox, and Hargrave, they don’t really have much top flight talent on defense. Yet with a below average level of talent overall, they’ve managed to be halfway decent. Yards per play, total yards, and points are actually quite respectable. I’ve been looking forward to seeing the defense that we’ll have next year with three first round picks added to the mix. I suspect you’ll have a different opinion of Gannon then.
@Bunpei Shiratori The defense has been better lately, albeit against inferior teams using backup quarterbacks. In the first part of the season, against better teams and better quarterbacks, the defense was atrocious. I would have to see them play a Dallas team at full strength, with a playoff position at stake, and hold the Dallas offense to a level that will make the game winnable for the Eagles to be convinced that they’ve really turned a corner. They get far too few sacks and far too few takeaways on defense to be considered top tier. The Eagles offense isn’t built to win a shootout against a top team.
@Steve Shapiro I don’t think anyone has suggested the current Eagles defense is top tier. I know I haven’t. It’s an overall mediocre defense. But based on the level of talent they have there (haven’t drafted a defensive player in the first two rounds in the past FOUR drafts), I think they’ve exceeded their expectations.
Is there any doubt that the Eagles will release Brandon Brooks after the season? Sirianni is SO secretive about his status. I don’t believe that he doesn’t know anything.
Trade him not release they can get value for him and he’s still under contract

@Chris Schaller Other teams are aware of his injury history. Why would they want to take on his cap number when they may not get much out of him?

I went to the eagles giants game on Sunday it was amazing overall nick is definitely coach of the year regardless what happens if he can win two more games if we could get back Taylor , brooks , Sanders that would be huge for the playoffs
Brooks? I thought he was in the Witness Protection Program. No one seems to know how he’s doing or when (if) he will ever play another snap for the Eagles.
