@Aj Salais I know what you’re saying. We did that last year and it turned out great. But I’m respectfully disagreeing just because Simmons can play multiple positions and we have Fangio who is a defensive guru. Simmons can cover against any tight end or Lamar Jackson.. he can line up as a corner or safety. He can be slot in over Davis. I know this is highly unlikely anyways but a Broncos fan can dream

Been a bronco fan since 1973. And I’ve never looked forward to a season as much as this one. Broncos are loaded with top tier players. The AFC west belongs to the broncos and we are taking it back.

@Aj Salais You’re misunderstanding me. I’m not saying depth isn’t necessary, I’m saying that the depth we have is enough right now. We don’t need to add a sixth ILB to the roster for “depth” when what we already have is sufficient. If we signed more than what we have right now then we’d just be taking up roster spots for guys that likely would never even see the field.
@Lilium we have 10 to maybe 15 roster spots open, we have around 10 picks. There’s a chance we wont even add UDFA this year. What I’m saying is were going to add depth to defense whether that’s cb, dt, or lb. We are going to. But I now understand what you mean.
@Aj Salais We in no way have “10 to 15” roster spots. We currently have upwards of 70 players signed to the roster right now. Then the draft takes us to around 80. After that we have preseason where we have to cut that 80 down to 53 and a 10 man practice squad. These roster decisions are crucial and you can’t add unnecessary depth to a roster, there just isn’t enough room for that. DT is our strongest position right now, we probably won’t be adding depth there. I can see CB for sure through the draft or ILB, but the key positions and the ones where we’re most lacking are on the offensive side of the ball. We can’t keep spending money and roster space bolstering an already strong defense when our offense was one of the worst in league last season. We have one consistent reciever and an offensive line as effective as swiss cheese. If we’re adding depth anywhere, it needs to be at those positions first.
@Lilium well if it makes you feel any better we had like 70-80 people during preseason and made it to the roster we have now. We cut people plain and simple. Shelby, Walker, and Purcell are on a one year deal, if you haven’t noticed that’s your whole dline. Dre mont Jones is your best bet on taking over for Purcell or Harris. Everyone else u can cut and add depth in draft, we have 19 mil in cap. Purcell cant even tackle he just plugs up the hole, what do u think happens when they add a new cornerback? They cut the worst one and make room.
@Aj Salais What are you even talking about?? Purcell was the 11th ranked DT in the ENTIRE league with 37 tackles last season. He did fantastic for us. Yeah a lot of these guys are on contract years, but they’re still here for THIS season. You have the entire midseason and offseason to come to an agreement with them, but it shouldn’t be your number one focus at this point. I don’t think you really know what the hell you’re talking about anymore

It is difficult to decide whether or not they should go towards defense or offense. We have to look back at super bowl 50, the defense got the work done and the offense backed up the D. I think if we slowly build both sides but emphasize the defense the most, we can be a solid team for sure!
