Leave it to the falcons to draft a guy that didn’t record a sack. Lol.

Paradise Archer

I say we draft some defensive players but if we for some reason draft offense then get either a QB or Kyle Pitts. Calvin Ridley, Julio Jones and Kyle Pitts ooo lawd

Fredo Reyes

Fantasy football playing part of me loves this but the Falcons fan part of me would be very worried about taking a TE that high. Remember when OJ Howard, Evan Engram, and David Njoku were sure things at TE?

    Monolith2001

    Not so sure he’d be great in Fantasy. That’s a lot of mouths to feed…Julio, Calvin, Hayden, Russell and supposedly we are going to run a lot.

Chris Edwards

It would honestly be so dumb for us to get a TE in the first round. We just traded a 2nd for Hayden Hurst who does the job very well. And even without Hurst we still have so many good weapons on offense

    Bubba Gump

    Pitts is waaaaayyy more than “just a TE”. He’s 6”6”, 245, he ran a 4.45 at his pro day, he can line up anywhere on the field, faster than lbs and too big and strong for dbs to cover. Has arguably the best hands in the entire draft, a absolute red zone nightmare ( YOU KNOW WHERE THE OFFENSE COULDNT SCORE TDs last year)

    John Crews

    I agree man! We have Hurst Ridley and Julio, Matt doesn’t have time to throw the ball! It would be the WORST PICK EVER

    John Crews

    DONT DRAFT PITSS

    RebelATL

    The one thing is because of salary cap, if we want a TE for the future if we let Hurst walk next offseason, Pitts would be the guy for 3-4 years.

Lil Dave

TE Kyle Pitts please 🖤♥️

    AK

    @John Crews Yes

    Lil Dave

    @John Crews No whattt?!

    Duncan The Delinquent

    @John Crews hell no

    John Crews

    He doesn’t make us any better! Y’all aren’t fans if you want him, we need OL

    Lil Dave

    @John Crews and tell me how Pitts doesn’t make us any better he’s a beast and in the system where going to be running team is going to need at least 3 TEs man

Monolith2001

I’d certainly welcome Pitts but he’s more of a receiver and we already got a pretty nice group of hands. Feels like a luxury pick and not much different than drafting a WR like Chase. Also don’t want to draft a QB to sit for two years (or sit one and have the NFLs highest paid backup). Hope some team wants #4 and that Terry and Arthur are open to trading back with the right compensation.

Skylander Hunter

Let’s just hope they don’t mess this up

RebelATL

I would say we should go defense and trade back instead of getting Pitts, but because of our salary cap for the future we wouldn’t be able to bring back Hurst next season so Pitts would be the future replacement at TE which makes me ok with drafting him.

Marcus Wall

Kyle Pitts 🔴⚫️

Patrick Fyall

We gotta take a skill player, or defensive player @ #4. Not a QB. he’s gonna sit behind Matt for 1-2 seasons, might as well take a QB in the 3rd or 4th to develop.

Charles Adams

Difference is QB was a dire need when we got Matt and he started right away. That would not be the case this year. It would be a pick warming the bench for 2 years. We need to go O Line and draft The Hulk at 4 so that our aging Qb has a bit more protection and our new RB has better holes to run through.

Looking at the draft financially, it makes sense for the falcons to trade back and NOT have a top 5 draft pick contract. However, they already have 9 draft picks, mostly later in the draft. So I actually see them trying to pair their later rd picks to get higher picks, thus coming out of the draft with as many as 6 players out of the top 100 and finishing with a total of about 7 or 8 players drafted in all. The #4 pick alone could net them a 1st rder and a 2nd rd this year and then the crappy 5,6,7th rder thrown in. Instead package your #4 pick with a 5, 6th and 7th rd pick to get a 3rd rd pick also, maybe high 2nd rd even if a team is desperate enough to move up. Which of course with SF trading up to #3 already to get a QB, will make atl pick even more valuable since there are only a few elite players in this draft at every position- QB, WR, DE, CB- all only have 3 maybe 4 really ELITE players with a quick dropoff. Teams may get into a trading war to go after fields or pitts, thus creating even more leverage for atl. I could see the falcons trading back to the 9-12 range in the 1st rd and pick up a middle 2nd rder-same slot # 2d rd as 1st- so a #10 so #42 in 2d rd, then in the same deal give out 2 5th rders and a 6th to get a late 3rd rd pick also in that deal, say around #90-100 range. SO in the end then they have picks #10, 35, 42, 68, 95, 108, and 182. A much more concise, CHEAPER, and overall HIGHER talent level of picks to add to the team.
Now with those picks I go after the running game. Ryan has proven repeatedly that with a great oline and running game he can be dominate and hard to stop. Ryan is a much better complimentary weapon rather than being THE weapon. So, at #10 you draft travis etiene, then at 35 , 42 and 68 you go oline all 3 picks. 1 each of a C, G, and T. Then the last 3 picks go to the defense and of course they go after 1 from each level- dline, LB, and secondary. Maybe 2 from secondary or vice-versa depending on how the draft plays out. So in essence I am asking Arthur smith to do the same thing in atl he did in tenn, make a great offense thats balanced and hard to stop since it can attack with passing AND a running game and pair it with an opportunistic attacking defense and lets see how it plays out!!
RISE UP!!

If anything, Falcons need a safety/edge rusher on defense first two picks. . And on offense LG, TE. I don’t think we need to choose TE with the first pick. We need to go defense first either edge rusher or safety cause that’s what Pees prefer in his defense. Especially safety. And we have Hayden Hurst who is a reliable and solid and fast TE. Who Dirk Koetter didn’t utilized him right early parts of last season.

    Bean Talk

    I would only agree with you if we trade back from the 4th pick. No defensive player is worth the 4 ovr pick this draft imo

Andrew Duarte

Please don’t get a TE.. first round…if were gonna go offense then grab a QB but defense is key if we want a championship in the future

Shawn Craft

I just Believe Picking Pitts is not what Atl needs. They need to select a for guy like oh Dude from Oregon. Pick him and you are set for the next 10 years barring injury

Shawn Craft

Matt Still has to be protected on the OL

mario b

Let’s trade down and get two first rounders!

Stephen B

Just hope that Pitts will be durable like Gonzalez was, because many TEs aren’t.
