Very very slim (if even that)……everyone ahead of us would have to lose out and we HAVE to win out! The San Fran lose KILLED US bc that would’ve given us the tie breaker over them, we’d be sitting at 8-7 right now and the Philly/Wash loser would be behind us, so yeah that lose hurt.
Realistically, were.playikg for 9-8 and pride bc I don’t see everyone in front of us losing out, plus San Fran and Philly own tie breakers over us and right now we’re the 10 seed behind Arizona, San Fran, Minnesota and Philly.

Good win! However, Cordarrelle should not be playing RB. The Falcons need someone that can run folks over or can bust through players with a decent offensive line (unless the Falcons get lucky in the offseason, it may not be possible to make that O-line elite in one year)

Great win! We played perfect on both sides of the ball. Gage almost gave the game away but lucky our defense clutched down on the final seconds. I saw some great throws for you, and the o-line kept you clean besides the first drive. (3 sacks is horrendous) On a three game no interception streak. While throwing for 641 yards, 3 touchdowns and an avg rtg of 102.4. I keep saying time and time again. Matt Ryan isn’t the greatest’s QB of all the time. He can’t carry a team clearly. But give him some time to throw, give him a defense that is at least average and not consistently 27th in the league and Matt Ryan has shown he’s a top 10 QB. I have some more arguments to counter too.
Argument #1: Matt Ryan gets paid too much so the coaching staff can’t Draft pass blockers. The argument just isn’t reliable as there are many QBs that get paid the big bucks and still have a solid line. Dark Prescott, and Aaron Rodgers are prime examples. Also Matt Ryan has selflessly restructed his contract before. Also I didn’t see people complaining when we let guys like Alex Mack walk.
Argument #2: Matt Ryan is a Choker/Can’t Win Games
I feel this argument is the weakest as Matt Ryan has over 30 careeer comeback wins and 30+ game winning drives which is top 10 all time. And before you try to counter that Matt Ryan hasn’t done that in recent years just look at all the games this year. Against the Giants, Saints, and Dolphins. Also all of the losses this year besides Washington have been blowouts. If that doesn’t pop a red flag then I don’t know what will.
Argument #3: Matt Ryan is getting too Old
Realistically I think this is the best argument anti Matt Ryan fans can make. While Matt Ryan is 36 with the way the league has shown today I think he can play until he’s about 39-40ish. Matt Ryan hasn’t shown any notable decline over the past few years and he can still move outside the pocket if he needs to and throw the ball deep. As for a mental standpoint this is the man that is still playing after 28-3 and has seen many blown leads, so I think he is mentally stable.
Argument #4: Even if Matt Ryan does get you to the Playoffs he won’t show up
This couldn’t be further from the truth. While posing the 4th highest rating in the Super Bowl, has gone 4-6 in the playoffs which is somewhat impressive if you actually compare him to other noteable QBs. (Looking at you Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton) has 20 touchdowns while only throwing 7 interceptions. Also During his 2016 season he didn’t throw a single interception and went to the super bowl which record is only shared by Joe Flacco (wait what). Having an average rating of 100.8, averaged over 7.5 yards a throw, and having over 67% accuracy.
In conclusion over the years, and much like this year Matt Ryan has had to deal with a mediocre run game (this year being no better outside of Cordarelle Patterson) and an atrocious o-line. Matt Ryan also hasn’t had time to throw and is the most hit QB in the league, with most of the pressure being in his face. Which is also due to the center being shredded on every snap (I forgor his name) and a defense that has ranked consistently low for most of his career. With a pass rush that can’t get to the QB or generate pressure QBs have time to sit back and look for open receivers, combine that with the secondary not playing good, and giving up chunk plays late in the game (which also explains many of the Falcons blown leads) also combined to an awful defense. Combine that with bad coaching and play calling leads to Matt Ryan throwing the ball accurately, and for a lot of yards but failing to score in the red zone. Matt Ryan has had so many different coaches and offensive coordinators it blows my mind.
Us Matt Ryan supporters just want you to realize that Matt Ryan has been a top 10 QB his whole career and even during his worst years ranks around 15th-17th. He’s thrown for more than 4,000 yards for 8 years in a row (and is on pace to this year. He needs to have 222.2 yards in the next 2 games, he has 3,555), is top 10 in 4th Quarter Comebacks and Game Winning Drivers, is the NFL’s all time passing leader through a QB’s first 14 seasons, and completions. He also has franchise records for career passing yards, career completions, touchdowns, passer rating, completion percentage, 300 yard games, has a career winning percentage over .500, and has a 4.6 touchdown to interception ratio. Has over 5 Pro Bowls, and an MVP rating, along with being a Pro Ball Alternate Candidate, being the fastest player ever to reach 40,000 yards which he did in 151 games. While also having the fourth highest of 144.1 super bowl rating in NFL history which is extremely impressive considering that came from the losing side.

Mat Ryan is number 12 all time in QB win in NFL history… No top QB has gone what he has been through witch is multiple coaches. Mat was Rookie of the year people forget. … Atlanta has never had a defense only 2017… manning , Bree’s , Rodgers, Brady, Big Ben ,Russell Wilson all the QBs in his era had defense.. Ryan has put up better passing yards than all of them finished top 5 in passing yards 9 years in a ROW that’s never been done ever
Argument 100- All Ryan had to do was take control in the SB and audible to run and kick FG to seal it. The Falcons still play like they are stuck in that mentality of total collapse. Every play does not have to be a flashy TD. There is no more Tony G, Julio, Roddy- it’s not possible. Take the yards and the points..This season we see Ryan dealing with big holes in the O-Line that’s limiting his game. He is a top QB but lacks the balls to be a champion. He now plays safe after receiving his fat contract. He was good when he was hungry- had decent wheels that allowed for deadly shovel passes. His first pass was a long TD. But 15-20% of passing yards are padded from his early days. Overall the organization lacks the brains to properly manage their finances. 25-30% of the cap is distributed amongst two players. Can you guess who?
@Goku Black There’s nothing you can tell me to convince me Matt is a good quarterback. And there’s nothing I can tell you to convince you he not good so we’ll agree to disagree. But in response to your last comment it’s well known that most of the pressure comes from the left side, not the middle so rolling to the right or stepping up into the pocket will help. A 14 year starter should know that. A rookie doesn’t know. Before yesterday’s game the analyst said Detroit’s secondary is weak due to injuries and he expects Matt Ryan to have a good passing day and yet we struggled to beat the worst team in the NFL. Matt barely threw for 200 yards when he should have easily thrown over 400 yards. Let’s see how things go next week when we play a good team.
@Hassam He never was able to audible his whole entire career because he’s never been in the same system long enough… The longest offensive coordinator he had was Dirk koter and he had him two separate times… in fact… Arthur Smith and Dirk Koetter the second time are the only coaches who allowed him to audible…. In the Super Bowl he could not audible because Kyle Shanahan does not like to get in the play until the defense is SET he waits about 15 seconds when the play call is called and then the ball is snapped… Freemen missed his block which is the reason why the game flow changed because he got benched after that… all the top quarterbacks didn’t ever have to deal with so much different terminologies so many different cultures. It’s not his fault is the organization.. this is the Super Bowl and you miss a one one match up block? Lol
@Laryan Ryan Wins are NOT the sole measure of a QB. QB is the most important position but they’re still only one person. Coaching + the rest of the roster MATTER. Rogers missed the playoffs twice in a row until Lafluer came to GB. Brees + Payton went 7-9 three years in a row. Goff and Garoppolo both made the super bowl in recent years and they’re both mediocre.
We’ve had some of the worst pass protection, run game, and defense in the league for how many years and you jump to blame Matt for why we’ve sucked, when him and Julio have been the highlights of our past decade? Y’all haters are disgusting. The man puts his life on the line for us every Sunday with how terrible our OLine is.
Sad to see this guy on the turf so much. His leadership is incredible he really wants to win. And he’s always going through coaching or OC changes. Dudes only getting older so it’s not like his arm is going to get stronger. But just like Brees , got to start making Matt Ryan throw the ball quick and Intermediate and kill teams that way and occasional deep ball. He can win us a Superbowl with right coaching and really right team. He’s not trash just so much personel inconsistency and coaching inconsistency

Mat don’t like to throw quick passes last year 2020 Matt Ryan was number one in Completions, ATT , and first down competition… most passing yards since 2016 in the nfl… second to pat mahomes avg since 2018 … over 250 pass yards a game… Mat holds NFL record most 200 yard passing games in nfl history consecutive 🐸

Their QB looked great against our defense all day. He had all day to find a receiver with no pressure. If I hadn’t called and threatened to kill him if he didn’t throw that interception we still wouldn’t have a win in our building ! 🤠

Vic Beasley and Tac McKinley not being consistent hurt the team for a long time. Ideally when you draft high at that position– guys play for 8 to ten years. Now you see it’s a glaring problem.

Last year led the league in most completions, first downs… and finished top five in passing yards for 8 years straight… top 12 in QB wins all time…. Breeze ,Brady Manning , Russell Wilson, Big Ben , Rodgers all had defenses Mat Ryan was asked to carry the franchise since day one Rookie of the year… multiple coaches & coordinators nobody has ever went through what he’s gone through… keep pushing… Matt Ryan has the most passing since yards since 2016. Ranked #1 this season of passes 20+ yards or more… this is just crazy especially for a quarterback who people say is not talented not Fast couldn’t do it. Yes Mat keep going. @Good Looking Honkey Philip has like only one AFC championship game Appearance in 2008 … Philip RIVERS once had the number one ranked defense and offense in the same season and missed the playoffs 🤡 Philip Rivers played in a wayyy worse division… A TURN OVER machine he would throw so many interceptions with that ugly release..
