I don’t think so, if Darnold had been drafted by a better team than the NY Jets he would probably be a Top 10 quarterback in this league. I mean think about it, Adam Gase was his headcoach… Need I say more? With Matt Rhule he now has a real NFL coach, and I think he will flourish in the Panthers system. He’s gonna hook up with Robbie Anderson A LOT!
@Bill Sbac Calling him a top 10 QB is a bit of a stretch don’t you think? Justin Herbert looked like an MVP on a bad team. Sam Darnold didn’t look anywhere near as good as him but I hope he does well in Carolina.

I really like this guy, He is extremely smart; Answers all the questions asked adequately but within the bounds of not giving away strategy and is not afraid to dive deep into his own philosophy. I think in time Matt Rhule will develop into one of the all time great coaches of the NFL.

Matt Rhule and the Panthers just picked up a #3 overall first round pick with three years experience for not much draft capital. Sam Darnold was saddled with the worst offensive coaching staff in the history of the New York Jets. Darnold has the right size, he’s disciplined, smart, very elusive once coverage breaks down, puts the ball in real tight windows, and he’s not easily rattled. I think the Panthers just picked up their franchise QB for the next 10 years from a team that has no idea how to develop a QB. Nice move Panthers.
Do not forget about Trey Lance guys he better than teddy Bridgewater if u argee with me on that
I’m glad that Rhule is emphasizing that Darnold had arm talent, one of Teddy’s biggest issues was his inability to drive the ball downfield without a perfect platform. The playbook will open up a lot with Darnold being able to make more types of throws.
