Dude actually sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. That’s nice for a change..

    Mandy

@wr1791 nah, we’re going to keep talking about him 10 years from now smh! I was just replying to comments, not to mention it’s very early on being voluntary mini camp. Of course ppl are going to draw the comparisons so relax, it’s fine..

    wr1791

@Mandy seems pointless to me. I wish they can cut down on all the press and interviews, so these guys can focus on fixing the mess they were hired to fix. Once a week at most would suit me fine, and let the players have their locker room, no one asks me about my work in my bathroom, really weird.

    Mandy

@wr1791 it’s the beginning of camp, all new coaches with alot of new players all being the 1st time they’re together. Why wouldn’t you want to hear about what is going on & what we can hopefully expect? Pressers have always been a part of any sport, lighten up some!

    wr1791

@Mandy it is a major distraction, and I have no need for locker room interviews, again weird. I would like to do everything possible that my team can get prepared, I am a game fan, interviews, not so much. Heck the team can hire spokespersons to answer most questions and free up the players and coaches to focus on football. It has not always been this way, far less press 50 years ago bothering these guys.

    Thomas Gena

    @Ryan ? Don’t forget Club Dub!

Ch1cagoforlyfe

Nice to have a coach who can actually communicate to the media and he knows the “whys”😂. Also much better hearing the word “foundation” rather than the whys

    Mandy

Because he actually understands football & has a plan. Hard to do your job correctly when you don’t understand how to do it. Nagy should’ve never been hired as a HC.

    Thomas Gena

    @Mandy I almost agree, Mandy.
Remember, Matt Nagy was good in his first year (he and Ryan Pace were NFL “coach and executive” of the year, respectively — and the Bears were 12-4).
Things went wrong when Pace put his full confidence in Nagy (and his absurd QB Ph.D 2.0 play design– and allowed Nagy to replace the competent coaches with his cronies).
Nagy wanted to be Sean McVay, Jr. — the newest NFL “boy genius.” He came up with the “great idea” off holding back all the starters from the entire preseason.
It got even worse, after that. Remember?

Javier Castro

The fact the we actually have a head coach who can communicate things clearly is amazing.

    Michael Survilla

@Thomas Gena T G, But we do know the Why’s.
Everything goes through him and that’s real!!
Hiestand had to get thrown under the bus because he was the excuse to cover Nagy, about the offense, even though the 18 offense was OK. Howard was the excuse, because he was not the type of runner Nagy wanted, even though he had 1000yds every year.
And Long was the excuse, for the Oline not protecting his precious
Offense, even though he was a pillar holding up the line for years until injuries caught up to him.
I think we can also throw in M Tribisky who had some deficiency,
but was magnified greatly by Nagys incompetence.

    Thomas Gena

    @Michael Survilla 100% — and aren’t we glad he’s gone?
I just hope that Ryan Poles pulls off the NFL Draft as well as Ryan Race did (especially in the last couple of years). There’s a lot of talent in this year’s draft and the Bears’ scouts are still on board; so here’s hoping!

    Ryan ?

@Mandy Let’s see if your comment holds up 3 years from now. I hope it does.

    Mandy

@Ryan ? That’s all we can do is hope! Nobody knows how Eberflus, Getsy, anybody will do. All I know for sure is Eberflus seems to understand & have alot more knowledge then Nagy did but that doesn’t mean crap lol. We can only hope we found our guy!

    Michael Survilla

@Thomas Gena Thanks T G, I have a concern that there are so many teams with multiple 1st round picks, that are looking for
either top tier WR s or O tackles
that are in short supply. GB 2 1st and Philly 3 first and Seattle 2 first, NYG 2, just to name a few, need top tear WR and
Oline help. I know there are alot of W Rs in the draft, and not many good O tackles, I just hope Poles can pull a couple of good ones out of his hat in the 2nd 2nd and 3rd
    Rounds.
This is an edit from what I said about the Eagle 3 1st round picks
The Eagles traded 1 of their 3 first round picks to N.O. for basically 2 1st this year and 2 1st next year.
There are other later round picks also, that I won’t list, but you get the idea.

John Snow

I like him more than Dan Quinn. This was the correct coach hire.

Sportz Gang

We look like we finally got a coach that know the why for once. Matt Nagy would’ve been like we had a great week in practice and we fell good about where we at.

    TB25

    LOL …totally.

    HFL Phon

    😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😂😂

    Charles Sanders

    So true

Kaine Stewart

Emphasis on blocking and tackling! Fundamental football. Thank you for bringing this to Chicago.

Mile high boost

Definitely looks more than ready to be a HC in this league. Nagy was in over his head even as an OC in KC.

    Sammy

Nagy went to the playoffs on his first try. Let’s see Eberflus do that.

    John Ellefson

@Sammy fangio got them to the playoffs

    Mike stuhr

He won coach of the year Nagy

Bigz

This guy is such a breath of fresh air! At least for now. But he sounds like he knows so much more on offense than Nagy and he is a defensive guy. wow

Mandy

Eberflus has more knowledge about football in his pinky then Nagy had in his whole body lol! He isn’t a narcissist & understands he needs his coaches to coach! Can’t do everything yourself as a HC! Hopefully it translates to the field & wins!

J 11

Refreshing that Coach sounds more decisive like a Mike Tomlin instead of trying to “find the why.” 😅

Aaisha Bowen

Damn I’m liking Eberflus the more I hear him talk he seems to know football. A whole 360 from Nagy

    Simeon Gawel

    180
A 360 would be the same path Nagy walked

Douglas Taylor

I’m more and more impressed with this guy every time I hear him talk. I think he’s a great hire by the Bears

    Go With Yo Move LLC

Yes I’m so glad that Poles hired the right guy. He brings a calmness to the coaching position. I love his fire and details on fundamentals. I believe we are going to quietly shock some people this year.

Antonio Washington

It feels real differently good to see the Bears being refresh with their great talents thanks to their new head coach Matt Eberflus. Out with the old, in with the new.

charlesmustang

I have a quiet confidence forming for this staff. I haven’t heard any empty promises. However, I have heard a clear philosophy and that gives me hope

Michael Cornelius

This is a real football coach with real answers.. no word salad BS. Honesty and transparency is the real key to on field success. Love this guy.

Amahd cole

I am so glad we got Matt eberflus as our head coach

CollinsK85

Start of a New Era, Let’s GO Coach Eberflus 🧡💙🏈🐻⬇️🙌🏾

Tasty FishSauce

I like this, I’d rather him try everything now to see what works rather than week 8 and still looking for their identity and the “why’s”. He knows what he wants and is actively findind which individuals are best suited at that position.

Alex H

Now we have QB1 and HC1 💯 excited to see the product we will get on the field this year!

Frank Zepeda

Love it Coach doesn’t mix words clear and decisive message knows what he wants straight talk. Great stuff someone that knows football and what he’s talking about. And not all that indecisive word salad Nagy always gave us talking about nothing. Go BEARS 🏈
