Mailbag: Could Kyler Murray stage a 'hold-in' at Cardinals camp? | Pro Football Talk | NBC Sports

California Dreaming

Kyler is a guy who I think his team SHOULD give him a new contract. Kyler is really talented and there aren’t too many guys out there with his skillset. He had a quick release and a strong arm, particularly for his size. Plus he has ridiculous acceleration when he takes off running with those really quick steps of his. He is really short and he might be injury prone but you have to take the good with the bad. I think that the Cardinals could win a Super Bowl with Murray and in reality there are only a handful of Super Bowl-caliber quarterbacks in the league.

You can find another guy who is just as talented and who has better leadership skills

@FootClann004 the cardinals aren’t very good at drafting QBs. Kyler is the first QB that the cards have drafted that has actually worked out very well

California Dreaming

I think Kyler is “worth” around 40 million based upon comps and considering his injury history. If he could stay healthy he’s certainly worth more than Dak Prescott as I think that Kyler is a technically-better passer. Oddly Murray has a stronger arm than Dak and Kyler has a quicker release. I know Kyler had a stronger arm as I watched in amazement when Kyler ran left against the Bills and launched a Hail Mary around 60 yards into the end zone as he was hanging out of bounds. It was Aaron Rodger-esque. (It also pissed me off because I root for the Bills although not many QBs could make that throw. Josh Allen, standing on the opposite sideline, could. But then again Josh can throw 80 yards at 62 MPH with a 0.38 release. Not too shabby as Adam Sandler might opine.)

I was born in 1990 & I definitely found twigs/sticks to get the dirt out my tread. I also love outdoors.

He isn’t worth that much. He can’t stay healthy enough for a season. He hasn’t won a playoff game despite having a great roster, and in fact played his worst game in the playoffs.

Kliff can’t coach well the second half of the season, but Kyler should be able to overcome that if he is a top 10 guy. Aaron Rodgers carried Mike McCarthy for years, and Rivers during his prime also carried mediocre coaches before too. How come Kyler can’t do it? If he can’t do it not a penny more than 20 mill for him.

Julio sits out until a star wr gets hurt. Knock on wood…let’s say one of the Bengals wr gets hurt…he wouldn’t have to be the guy, but could provide quality 2nd/3rd wr production
