O Really?

Throw the ball football 🏈

    Oliver Lacey

Can’t throw if you can’t protect. 17 pass attempts with 5 sacks. No good

    Mandy

If they pass protected like they run block the OL would be one of the best in the NFL! Great thing is they’re young & will get better!

Oliver Lacey

Dear O LINE, we see yall are pretty decent in the run game. How about yall show some pride and stop letting the other team toss your qb around like a rag doll during passing plays. Yall are not going to be satisfied until he is broke up and is damaged goods. Let the man get comfortable in the pocket one game.

    Demetri Boyd

@Thomas Gena I haven’t but to act they’re world beaters is a lie I understand why they are struggling though just like Justin they are young nd need more development Braxton is a rookie but ima still say he gotta be better

    Thomas Gena

@Demetri Boyd We agree on many points. But, sometimes it’s just the words fans use that throws me off, Demetri. You say “development” as if it is the act of building a bridge — one that takes years, to plan and complete. But forging an offensive line is actually is much more of a game-by-game process (with peaks and collapses along the way).
Add to that, the growth of a “rookie” QB (in his first year of a new system) and you see where the Bears’ players find themselves (and remember, the other position players are also “rookies” in the system).
All this means that improvement will come suddenly (when it does come) and it will regress — before it levels off to create a reasonably successful team.
I believe this will happen because the Bears have more than their share of talented players; that are being used correctly, by a focused, driven coaching staff that expects excellence and holds everyone accountable.
    This team will not fail.

    Demetri Boyd

@Thomas Gena it’s not its gonna take time but I can still say nd point out where he needs to be better nd he’s already on a fast start but if you look outside of musty the interior is better than both tackles it’s ok they young it’s gonna take time I get that buy ima still look at what he needs to get better while they develop being better than Leno is not hard

    Thomas Gena

@Demetri Boyd Yeah, I agree about Justin holding the ball too long.
But what fans don’t get, is that the OL and QB have to work in a rhythm. They call it pocket awareness– I’m sure you know this — but it has to work together.
There are individual great linemen — but NFL teams don’t win with just one All-Pro lineman, among the five.
Working together, takes as much (or as little) time as it takes. When it finally gels, adding a new piece, changes the dynamic, and is not a very smart move.
Right now, the Bears seem to be trying to force Lucas Patrick into the starting lineup. I don’t know why. But that’s messing with the cohesion — and we haven’t even seen Lucas Patrick in the exchange with his QB yet.
All that, believe it or not, affects Justin Fields’ comfort in the pocket.

    Newnew Johnson

@Space Ghost I AGREE BUT TO JUST SAY IT’S ON FIELDS IS PURE FOOTBALL IGNORANCE AND YOU KNOW WE BARELY AGREE LOL

Newnew Johnson

IF THE PASS PRO IS AS BAD AS IT WAS AGAINST THE WOEFUL TEXANS EXPECT AN L!!!!! DO BETTER!!!

JASON BROWN

I’ve never even heard of this Player.

    Thomas Gena

    No one has!

GO BEARS 🧡💙🏈🐻🙌🏾

Run the ball 50 times and see what happens. O line is doing great running the ball so let’s POUND THE ROCK! I never have seen Bear fans cry after a 281 yard running game WIN! Let’s Run the ball until the defense stops our run game … Doesn’t that seem reasonable?

    Thomas Gena

    @Adrian Garcia 100% correct.

    Thomas Gena

Running the ball 50 times works — in a vacuum. But NFL real life is exactly as Adrian Garcia describes.

Y is he doing interview like he a star or something

    Tejash Patel

He is a star player in our O Line, get to know him

    Thomas Gena

    @Tejash Patel . . .in his dreams.

    Tejash Patel

@Thomas Gena , In your dreams

    Thomas Gena

    @Tejash Patel LOL

Wow what an Amazing and Fantastic All-around Show!!

Mandy

He is SO much better at Center then Mustipher & Jenkins is better at Guard then Patrick. IF Patrick can snap & they keep Sam at Center I’m going to lose faith in Flus. The best 5 doesn’t include Sam, it’s that simple..

    Thomas Gena

Mandy, have you watched the Green Bay tapes of Lucas Patrick? If you had, you’d realize that last year was his best ever — and it wasn’t that good!
You seem to think he’s “great” I definitely think he’s “average.” Pro Football Focus (PFF) has his current overall grade at: 52.1.
    Check these out.
    PFF Grades as of: 9/30
    Cody Whitehair: 71.1
    Teven Jenkins: 71.1
    Larry Borom. 66.5
    Braxton Jones: 63.2
    Sam Mustipher: 62.3
    Lucas Patrick: 52.1

We need Lucas Patrick back

    Thomas Gena

He’s been back. You probably haven’t noticed — because he really hasn’t done much.

Dave Chadwick

But why spend 2 1st round picks for a guy to hand the ball off?
Let Justin play!!

Thomas Gena

Lucas Patrick seems like a great teammate (and could be headed for a coaching position in the future). But he is a 29 year-old, former UDFA, who has had an undistinguished career, to date.
Why is the Chicago media treating him as if he were Creed Humphrey?

    Alejandro Rodriguez

Because his upbringing and opportunity here in Chicago embodies the story I think most people, especially in Chicago, appreciate. He’s getting the chance to lead and be a staple among a young group of players

    Thomas Gena

@Alejandro Rodriguez That’s a great point — and there is value in all of that. But, the Bears need to put their “five best guys” on the O-line, ASAP — and stick with them.
If the coaches believe Lucas Patrick is one of the five, then let’s go with that.
But, I just don’t see it.
