Contracts are more about timing then they are about amount…. Always remember The cap can be worked and Eric has it down to a Science…he has been growing to this since ’96 …. He gets big money and gets extensions and bonuses to spread the Cap Value… ignore the stigma of Contracts debilitating a team…that is the responsibility of The GM to sort… the players just have to play and earn
If they give him 55 million a year with 300 million guaranteed for 10 years, it would be a lower hit to the cap than the fifth year option . Let alone the tag next year, and they know it.
