Kicking the Stigma Roundtable Discussion

In honor of Kicking the Stigma Week, Carson Daly (of NBC's The Voice) hosted a roundtable discussion featuring Darius Leonard (Indianapolis Colts), Hayden Hurst (Atlanta Falcons), Soloman Thomas (Las Vegas Raiders) and Darren Waller (Raiders).

The Colts and the Irsay family has launched Kicking the Stigma, a comprehensive initiative to raise awareness about mental health disorders and to remove the shame and stigma too often associated with these illnesses.

Thank you for the important conversation and your work towards normalizing our wide range of emotions. We are a diverse people all coming from different backrounds, circumstances, relationships, environments, etc. Each one unique and just as valuable as the other. Thank you for leading the way in showing that we need to support and be there for one another. Great job!

This is fantastic Kalen!! These Testimonials are amazing as they offer encouragement for the afflicted, and proven techniques that work for them (panelist). Perhaps also consider partnering with politicians that also suffer from mental health issues/disorders. Finally, would also be superb to sprinkle in point of views from mental health subject matter experts who can speak to the latest therapies and science on the forefront. National Alliance on Mental Health would be a good starting point. Oh! And don’t forget the non profit organizations out there who’s sole purpose is to occupy the mental health space as they help those who can’t help themselves.

This is so powerful. I am a veteran, and I am struggling and it took me years and an ultimatum to finally seek help. I know it’s going to be a battle, and probably be a life long process to prevent slipping back into the dark place. If you’re a veteran and struggling, please, please, please call your local VA hospital for mental health help. They have come such a long way, and have awesome professionals. As I get healthier, I really want to help people struggling going forward and feel that will be a great way to maintain.
