5 minutes in and i see a problem. Oxnard, ‘weathers great, one reason we come here.’ Remember Jimmy Johnson’s famous ‘How bout them Cowboys’ post game speech? Well, in that same speech, he referenced, ‘when U were down in Austin, hot n tired.’ Thats the problem: theyre NOT hot n tired in August. Theyre NOT playing for fear of losing their job. Theyre NOT in the condition Champions need to be. Theyre NOT running drills in the heat so they become more disciplined, instead of committing stupid penalties (and then smiling about it). Theyre NOT sacrificing what they need to be champions. And, whats worse, is that theyre not even asked to do so. Country Club Culture – a marketing firm that happens to play football. Makes me sick.

@brenton black I agree with some of what you wrote. Yes smarter is the correct word and yes they should be smarter and learn from mistakes in the past. BUT, you have to admit this generation is soft… I’m not speaking of football players Im talking this generation period. Masculinity is no longer accepted by society. It is attacked and no longer allowed. There is soem still on the country like in areas here where I live in Central Texas, west Texas areas in the south still but people still make fun of us for being masculine. Even this generation says men and boys have lost there masculinity. I have heard it numerous times by young women when talking about the young men. Most of them have everything handed to them the easy way and dont know what hard work is, and if they do have to work they cry about the hours or the hard work etc. They dont even know what work is compared to generations past. So I agree the NFL has tried to do things smarter, I’m not saying its better but they believe its smarter, but this young generation is soft in every way. And its going to hurt the country in the long run. You talk about Navy Seals and even they have made their training much easier on their recruits. I know I tested for the Seals back in 1980 and was accepted but didn’t get to attend BUDS, but the training is now much easier (smarter) 🙂

If these coaches had no salary cap u could afford to heatstroke or cut as many players as you want.

    John Cawvey

@BenTramer I agree and that is exactly why so many of our players go on the IR list because it’s one thing to lift weights but it’s another to actually be hitting and getting hit. I know they are only allowed a certain number of padded practices 🙄🙄🙄because we wouldn’t want these prima donnas to get to tired before the season starts. Unfortunately that’s why tackling is becoming a lost art form, players now just run into each other and try to knock each other down occasionally you will see a textbook tackle with good form but from professionals you rarely see it mostly you see missed tackles unless it is a gang tackle or they trip the guy.

    John Cawvey

@brenton black if they are truly smarter then why is it that more players are on the IR now per team then at any time in the history of the NFL. It is because they are not trained properly in the technique of proper tackling and they don’t get to tackle each other often enough because they are only allowed so many padded practices. How can your be a professional at a trade if you only get to do it part time throughout the year. Weight training is great but it doesn’t teach you technique and practices should be harder then games. I am 60 years old and played baseball and football up into my 40’s. I played in championship teams and I played on losing teams and the difference in the teams was the way we practiced and the amount of effort given in practice and how much blood, and sweat we left on that field at practice. This is my opinion, but if you took two teams one that practices at camp cupcake and one that practices like we did with real practices with real hitting and out in the heat of the day every day without limits on padded practices and taught proper techniques I would love to see those teams line up against each other. That is why jimmys Dallas teams beat Buffalo 52-17 that’s the difference!! Jimmy’s camps where known to be brutal. Even Michael Irvin told players you better be in the best shape of your life when you come to Dallas !!! And yes I’m a former Search and rescue in the United States Navy and I worked every day along side of Navy Seals I know they are trained warriors and not entertainers I was using their training as a metaphor.

The Big Lebarkski

Man Kyle never shows signs of improvement. I’ll never understand how he has this job

    MyTardisGosWhosh

He also dropped the ball when introducing the shows and not mentioning Mick’s show.

    The Big Lebarkski

@MyTardisGosWhosh they all hate Mickey and don’t even try to hide it

5454randy

So is CeeDee the real deal?

    godsdozer

    Nope

Carolyn Williams

I can’t do this. This hum drum group is awful

Clutch Plays

LETS GO

Brandon Vegas

Kyle is going to have a rough time with Mickey! I know he wishes Helman was still there 🤣

Just Mello

You guys are ridiculous. It’s like watching an episode of the view. I can’t believe you get paid by the cowboys to spew the garbage and drama coming out your mouths.
Seriously. Its freeking training camp. Every team has rookies and new players. They all are developing and always will be developing players.
If I was just listening to this I would think this was a Philly broadcast team.
You are so depressing and you don’t deserve to be an employee of the cowboys.
Except for maybe 1 of you who kinda tries to babe positive most of the time.
The other two feed of each other’s horrible attitudes and maybe it’s time for the cowboys to clean house and find some people who are fans and also want to show some respect to the team the owners and the fans.
I’m tired of all the media pissing on the parade.

    Peter Jerchel

You want a hug little girl ❤️🤗

    Monarchski

That’s their job to talk about it and create buzz and interest. Chill out.

    Alan Greer

Dude go easy…. it’s just the first day. You know Mickey; “the world’s always ending tomorrow”! Peace out.

Corey Edwards

Welcome back guys!

Jose Sanchez

These guys are such a drag.

Peter Jerchel

Won’t miss Hellman’s slouch and pouty face while he scans his phone . Like a kid being told to eat his cauliflower

Peter Jerchel

Not worried about cooper , so many times he checked out during games . No fire and commitment, all the talent in the world though

    John Cawvey

I felt the same way about Cooper, he seemed to pout a lot or was just too moody.

    Lay Lowe

And he really didn’t practice much last season

M G

Great stuff guys! 👏

The Lead Commander

Ceedee makes acrobatic catches in practice and exposes his body cause he knows he will not get hit in the real game he will not expose himself to acrobatic catches as much cause the big hit is coming..

NavyVet

I’m a die hard cowboys fan have been since 69′ and I understand the media like sto hype up the young players etc… but they seem to forget when Dallas won the super bowl in 92′ that was a young team as well. Troy, Emmitt, Irvin and several other players were young on that team. Not first year players but still a very young team because Jimmy Johnson intentionally got rid of teh old dead weight on the team. Now, I do not believe anybody expects Dallas to win a super bowl this year, not even Jerry Jones. I believe they are trying to change the culture form what Garrett had doen to the team over his time as coach. The team had become soft and had no fire at all. McCarthy is changing that by building his own team from the ground up. Not bringing in old veterans from other teams but building a culture here in Dallas with young firey players. I think they believe they can do what Jimmy did, coach these young players up and win a super bowl within the next two years. Thats whay they are keeping money in the cap back because they will have to sign some of these young home trained boys to long term deals in teh next 2 years. That also why Jerry said the cowboys need to make it to the playoffs and be successful ( I forget his exact word) he doesn texpect a super bowl but he expects this plan to work like it did in the 90’s when they started at 1-15 and ended with 3 rings with a young team

Alan Greer

You know what cracks me up? I know SF kicked our butts in the playoffs last year and everybody talks about how bad we played, but if I remember right….. SF went to Green Bay the next week and kicked their butts. Did Packers drop an egg too? I realize that had we played better, the Cowboys could have won that game and I’m sure Packer fans think that do too! What I don’t understand is why our own media personals keeps trashing us and doesn’t give the 49ers a little credit! I mean if you truly watch the games and are honest with yourself, the 49ers peaked at the right time and were damn good team and they almost came back and beat the Rams too!

    BenTramer

What SF did in Green Bay literally has NOTHING to do with our game against them.

    Alan Greer

@BenTramer Never said it did, I’m just saying let’s give the 49er’s credit instead ragging on our ‘boys!

Creative ways To throw games

Let’s goooo

I think everyone overlooks Anthony Brown and his development. If he takes another step this season, then Joseph is on the outside, in terms of starting opposite Trevon Diggs. And after his rookie season, he’s developed every year. Nobody thought he was anything more than a camp body, but he’s shown he’s the real deal. I think we got another FA diamond in the rough!

kyle watson

I wouldn’t say last year was a bad year, but it ended with huge disappointment…
