Was disappointed he didn’t get the gig after Pettine left. Can’t be too upset now seeing how well Barry has done, but Gray is a big part of this defenses success.

@Brandon B I really wanted…and still think Leonard would have been ideal. Especially now with Quay…this defense is just PERFECT for his scheme. Just take it from the B1G to the NFL and I think it’d work.
Not that Barry is THAT much different, but he does more with his DL, less blitzes from his LBers. Though that has to change with Quay. That dude could probably play Edge this year and justify a 2nd/3rd round pick just as a sub package edge rusher…without even considering what he can do on 1st and 2nd down.

I think he knows he can be, he’s even been given head coaching rolls when others have been absent due to illness, etc. but sometimes you get to a position and team that really fits your level of comfort. I think that’s also why Rich came over, look at how bad the Raiders reportedly have been running their business? So I’m not surprised some guys just like there spot. Hopefully he stays for some time. And hopefully the assistant coaches are learning from him as well.
