@VMan29397 I don’t think that’s true. I think Allen made the most of his opportunities, and the credit is his. Maybe Dabool has a good offense (like when McAdoo gave Eli the best numbers of his career), but leading 53 men to a championship is very different from leading 11 guys to a TD

You know what makes more sense? Getting a real head coach, and let him pick everyone. Including the GM. Mara already killed the process

@Pat Donovan John Mara is not going to fire his brother. If you keep firing coordinators it shows Flores has no patience. When you bring in a new coordinator that means the offense will more than likely have to learn a new scheme and that gets tiresome after a while. John Mara has whiffed on his last three coaching hires and I completely understand that there is not a lot of faith in him, I don’t really either, maybe I am just optimistic that the 4th time is the charm. We shall see

@PJ King John shouldn’t be in the position to hire or fire anybody. That’s what the GMs paid for. But Mara wants to be in charge so bad. And that’s why he wants a puppet. Somebody without patience (Parcells or even Flores) wouldn’t dare take this job. They wouldn’t put up with nepotism and failure draft picks. That’s why we are the worst team in the NFL

@Pat Donovan Mara is the owner and will have input. What we hope happens is that Schoen is the point man for hiring the next head coach and mara just signs off on it. The key for the Giants is that Schoen will fire all the scouts and replace them with his own people. The Giants need to rebuild the trenches and then find a QB. Daniel Jones is not the answer.

Well, I understand. I don’t have a “bad” feeling, but the challenges this guy will face as a HC of our team would be something like he’d NEVER experienced before. Now, I have no problem with 1st time HC in general, but I don’t think our GIANTS need one right now, I believe it would be overwhelming.

@Kyv’ace I haven’t wasted much thought on it, because I know Mara will screw it up. Ideally I’d want someone who has been a head coach before. Still, we will screw it up

He’s not the only good coach on the planet. Other “coaching trees” are more successful. We just insist on playing “the Giants way” (or the stupid way)
