Free Agent Safety Marcus Maye 1st Interview w/ New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints 2022 free agent signing safety Marcus Maye speaks with the media at his first interview since joining the Saints during the 2022 NFL Free Agency signing period.

A 6-0, 207-pound native of Melbourne, Fla., Maye started at safety in all six games he appeared in for the Jets in 2021 and posted 46 tackles (30 solo), one sack and two passes defensed. In 2020, Maye was named a team captain and selected as the Team MVP by his teammates for the first time, when he started all 16 games and registered single-season career-highs in every category, finishing first on the team with 11 passes defensed and second with 88 tackles. Maye added two sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles – one of just four players in the National Football League that season with at least two in each category plus 85 tackles.

…yes indeed. …we need someone at the FS safety position that is not afraid to make a tackle in the open field when needed…

I think he’s gonna b more versatile than Williams. Makes him a valuable chess piece!

Glenn Frick

This is all good but we need to produce an effective offensive line. Starting with a quarterback. I’m not sure about Winston, and we need wide receivers, and third down people. The defense looks solid, but we gon b tested early, shall we RISE! Dennis Allen and the Saints could jump out of the gate in the first five games and b 5-0 in 2022′. But you gotta have an offense that can get the ball down the field. Nevertheless, this season gon b a good one for sure. I think this year we send Roger Goodell and the NFL a message, We Comin… Who dat!!!
