It’s not any backup. It’s simply a covering that will be there during stadium down time. That field tray isn’t a NASA rocket that has hundreds of engineers operating it. It’s about as complicated as an electric pallet jack. In all the years in Phoenix they’ve had exactly zero problems. Again, it’s just a throw rug for stadium down times.

As is that’s the Saskatchewan Rough Raiders field. Kinda looks like preseason in Canada.

The logo is only there for stadium tours. The field will be used by UNLV. The Raiders will use the grass field.

From Wikipedia: The stadium has a roll-in natural grass field similar to the one at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. While the Raiders will play on the grass field, UNLV prefers to play on an artificial turf surface. The artificial turf will be placed directly on the stadium’s concrete floor, and the tray holding the grass field is being designed so that it can roll in and out without disrupting the turf underneath.

Incase something happens to the grass outside they have to have a playing surface. So if the grass isn’t up to par they just throw a raiders logo on the turf and play on it
