@Knighthawk34 That’s true, I haven’t read his actual, contract, and I am just going off the public information available in OTC and Spotrac, which has always been accurate and reliable in my experience.
I understand that Thielen’s “$ aren’t guaranteed man” until early in the 2023 season, and if you weren’t so lazy and self satisfied, you might also have looked into it further and discovered that if we designate Thielen (& Hitman) post-June 1st cuts, his dead cap hit is only $6.5m.

And yes I’m almost certain Kwesi will pay $6.5m in dead cap to get a $20m cap hit off the books in 2023, and remove another $20m cap hit from 2024, especially for a WR who is already the 2nd oldest in the league now, and already hasn’t completed a regular season since 2018. In fact I think Kwesi would be mad not to.
Kwesi can also cut Harrison Smith as a post June 1st, and get his $20m 2023 & 2024 cap hits off the books as well, and for and even lower dead cap hit of $3.9 dead cap hit in 2023.
So Kwesi can save $28m in cap space in 2023 by cutting both Thielen and Smith, for a combined dead cap hit of $10m, which is the same amount that he is paying just to get Barr off the roster this year.
Everyone was expecting a rebuild, but Kwesi is just going about it in a less obvious way, and clearly a few more steps further ahead of you, than you’d like to think.
So I’d suggest drafting a WR and SS early is probably much more likely than you and some other Vikes fans realise.
