Barkley Ostdeutschland

Since they drafted him and I watched his college Games, I was very excited about him. He is limited to iOL but he as the physical Tools to be a good Guard OR CENTER !
He looked lost in Passprotection because of his bad technique BUT he (like Will Hernandez) has MUCH more upside then Nick Gates, he is just a better Athlete, better Frame. I think if you move him to Center, he would play on a higher Level: you could use his runblocking in both rights and get help from any of the Guards. Against a 4-Men Rush, usually you play 3vs2 on the interior, so mostly the Center is Part of a Double Team. But he needs better Coaching from our new O line Coach

Trust me I love Will and I’m pleased with Shane for a 5th round pick. But they have more upside than Nick Gates how? He plays 3 different positions effectively, in his first year ever playing center he held his own. He held his own in Pass blocking and run blocking. Watch some of those sweeps to the outside and literally watch him take out incoming blockers. In pass pro he saved Shane numerous times from giving up a sack. Some of Shane’s problems in pass pro comes from his lack of arm length along with technique. But back to Nick Gates he played every single snap at center you do not mess with his flow. In his 3 years here he has already showed that he is a key member on our O-Line

Not to mention Gates was our best OLmen last year.

@Malcolm Benjamin Shane has longer Arms with 32 1/4 and Nick only 32. but that’s enough for G/C. If you read I agree that Gates played better, because his technique is much more polished. But he doesn’t have the same explosiveness and strength. Shane was a 5th Rd pick, while Nick went undraftet for a Reason. But Nick has more experience- not as Center but in the NFL.

David Dhiel should be an offensive line coach

Love this breakdown as I love Shane. His physicality is awesome and he’ll only get netter the more he plays.

MegaStoneTV

Sadly he was terrible this year

Trade will for a corner

Elite 4 Master Will

No one shouldn’t be shocked at Lemieux Pass Protection since it was on his draft profile. Added to that there wasn’t no off-season workouts last year. Hopefully playing over 500 snaps will help him in the off-season. Will Hernandez never improve as a player after his rookie year. I’ll challenge any of y’all if you don’t think Will Hernandez will be traded this off-season
