Cole is a great player and perfect for the Patriots. But definitely an over draft.

    Elijah R

@Lord Of Faiyum Exactly. If Mac doesnt have a solidified line we have no offense😂

    Wyatt Stowell

@Elijah R yea but we coulda drafted him in the 3rd round

    ladawg81

@Wyatt Stowell according to who? Sean mcvay?

    John Newcomb

Viking’s would have took him today at 34. Good call by Bill.

    Elijah R

@John Newcomb either them or TB.

Kyle Irvine

Let’s just pray Bill isn’t actually senile. Please Bill for the love of god draft a lb or cb in the second

    Tyron Pouncey

    He is

    Christina Morra-Tiu

    Also a wr

    William Bartle

And no Metchie? Metchie’s not lasting to the third round if Detroit came up for Jameson Williams at 12, even after he tore his ACL three weeks after Metchie! I’m going Metchie at No. 54 if I’m Belichick. Marcus Jones and Jalyn Armour-Davis will be there in the third

    Billy Bob

Have you seen the CBs Bill has drafted in the second round?

    Kyle Irvine

@Billy Bob I mean, if he somehow got booth, I wouldn’t complain though

Fluffshep Network

I’m trying so hard to stay positive about this pick. Much respect to Cole Strange, who does have some game, but we could’ve gotten him about 2 rounds later. I hope I’m proven wrong, but this is a really poor value pick from where I’m sitting. Again, Cole Strange definitely has potential, but come on; Nakobe Dean was IN OUR LAP!

    J

Rams were gunning for him, he was a very safe pick

    Chris Mac

U know the pats cant draft well. We need speedy recievers and yet here we are with an offensive lineman

    Andi Dhimitri

    @quentin crisp didnt know that

    Zachary Reynolds

you have no idea if he would’ve actually fallen to the Pats in the 2nd

GonzoDuke

I wasn’t sure about this pick until I saw his highlights against Furman. 🙄

Jesus, are you trying to kill me Bill!

Nintendo Hub

but I will say even though it’s a reach he’s a pretty good player by the look of things gives me shades of Kyle dugger

    JunnyFN

Mario Gray fire the greatest of all time?

    lukewarm ice

Not to many questioning the player just when he was drafted. Bill could’ve made a move to get him in the second. Not every player drafted will stay on the team. So why horde picks when you can make moves

    Nintendo Hub

@Mario Gray you don’t fire the coach he does need help drafting though

    kwana

It’s giving me shades of drafting Sony Michelle, over Nick Chub. He needs to step down from his GM duties. The patriots needs somebody to stop the run. Buffalo ran the ball down the Pat’s throat last year.

    kwana

@lukewarm ice he would’ve still been there at 54. He should’ve drafted a linebacker, since they couldn’t stop the run at all, last year

B

Love these clips because it doesn’t account for the action in the play but the potential based on the player specifically

Peter Karel Kraus

Strange pick is right. Another guy that would have been available in the 3rd round.

    lukewarm ice

That’s one thing I was thinking. A offensive line consist of 5 (rarely but sometimes 6 players). If we only needed 1 lineman, why was this a concern?

N.Granger

Highlights will always look good – as they’re ONLY the good plays. But that aside, I’d seriously question the importance of these considering the low level of competition in these. THAT we needed to draft a Guard in the 1st was only because we ‘gave away’ Shaq Mason for a 5th rounder!!! Who was PFF’s #4 rated guard in 2021 and on a very good $7m/yr contract. So the problem was of our own making……and why did we really feel we had to draft Strange here? The chances everyone else underrated him vs us being right is very naive. I hope Cole plays great but putting him under too much pressure by grossly overdrafting him. No wonder we look so slow on both sides of the ball – we can’t afford such stupid wastes of premium picks!

Anthony

I’ve never questioned Bill but what gets me is yea, he will probably be a great guard. But the dude would have been there at the end of the 2nd beginning of the 3rd round. We gave up star plug and play talent that was on the board, that would have filled much bigger holes, that were bigger needs.

    FlameWingMan

He wouldn’t be…it was a best bet he was going to be gone

    lukewarm ice

@FlameWingMan then trade up for him with the second. Could’ve traded our 2nd, 5th, and a 6th. Could’ve even traded a next year pick and kept our cap space will greatly increase

    joseph williams

Yeah idk about if he’s gonna be there but what’s a much bigger need than guard

    FlameWingMan

@lukewarm ice no there’s no point in trading up…if you’re drafting for need then you stick to your guns and get him.

Luke LeBourveau

Great highlights of him vs SOUTH ALABAMA just keep bill as a coach but not as a GM

Pootasaur

Absolutely brutal, BB can’t draft in the first round anymore. He doesn’t understand what overdrafting means

Demarrius Smith

This pick reminds me of the Logan Mankins pick. I can see why Bill went with a lineman first pick. It was only a handful of really top tier DL and OL. If you look at the draft majority of league went OL or DL.

    Dee Landers

Good call, even better if he ends up like him as well. I don’t like the he’s a reach talk. In about 3 years we all meet back on the where our they now videos anyways. That’s when we knows who is who. Lots of love bro. Can’t wait for the next picks and season.

    Kakari

I totally agree. All the receivers were gone so early anyway, and the CBs in our range are still available so who knows what they do. Either way our OL is always top tier for a reason, I’m still kinda hoping we get Metchie though

SavBless05

Look at us forcing ourselves to love this pick 🤣 He’s definitely a solid player I’m gonna trust Coach on this.

    PatsProds

    Frrr

    kwana

The guy can probably play, but he wasn’t worthy of a first round pick. He would’ve still been there, in the third round. The patriots need a run stopper, OR TWO!

Soulless

Honestly we always do mock drafts and think we know where players will wind up. Two IOL early and at 29 I bet there weren’t any teams calling to move into it, and we thought we wouldn’t get him at 54, so we went out guy.

He’s a little handsy/grabby but extremely athletic and versatile. Can’t change the pick now so we might as well welcome our newest patriot and prepare for day two!

Patriotman 93

Like many of my fellow Patriots fans here I have mixed feelings about this pick. I would have preferred Nakobe Dean or maybe a CB at 29, but we are at least filling a need after we traded Shaq Mason. I just feel like we reached a bit too far get him.

Ifyouonlyknew howbad

Solid pick! plug and play…! extra picks acquired by trade, let’s see what comes of it… BB is Great in rounds 2, 3 and 4!!!

Dee Landers

You can tell when it’s a run play or pass by how low his initial stance is. Guy has a lot of tells. Hope they coach him him. He holds alot too. Ain’t knocking the dudes fight. I like his edge.

Malcolm xxx

Good pick up from what I can see it’s hard to find good lineman these days but he’ll have to go up against some way better talent than what he played against to see how he pans out.

    kwana

He could’ve picked him in the third round, because he would’ve still been there. Buffalo ran the ball down the patriot’s throats. His priority should’ve been getting a run stopper. Horrific pick.

    Malcolm xxx

@kwana there all unproven talent all 1-7 rounds doesn’t matter

J

I think this was an attitude and personality pick with a little speed and strength, Billy will turn him into a pro bowler
