Coach McDaniels on the Defense, Josh Jacobs and the Upcoming Matchup vs. Jaguars | Raiders | NFL – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Rich Frye

Tired of working hard and learning from mistakes and responding to adversity. Don’t care about character in the locker room-what they do on the field on Sunday is what counts.

    obrapro

What’s in the locker room shows up on the field.

    Owen Ransdell

@obrapro obviously not, he makes it seem like we have a great locker room dynamic with multiple great leaders. josh is a joke, it’s not about our locker room, it’s about him and his bad coaching

    East Bay Original Raider

    Carr’s a cancer

    Jett Jensen

No doubt screw hard working and talent and character fix yourself it ain’t the team it’s the coach. Carr is getting shafted again by a horrible coach and devante is looking bad because of stupid play calls and a crappy system.

Norman Ellison

Listen to his answers. It’s all about the players fixing themselves. You hear the players always mention how they are trying to “get” or work under McDaniel’s system. That’s the problem. McDaniels focus is too top down. Do it my way or the highway. Instead of him coming in and designing a system that supports the team he has, he’s making the entire team walk to him. It’s the wrong approach. Fire him now.

    Luke Parodi

Absolutely. Took him 3 games to realize what everyone saw all along that Jacobs should be getting tons of carries. Finally changed up his game plan and things got better…. Until this last game.

    Top Beatz

    Agreed

    'OLE55

Mike Shanahan tried his own version of tyranny, and it didn’t work. McDaniels inflated ego is his own enemy ultimately.

    Phil Anderson

Agree. If you look at a coach like Pete Carroll, he takes what his players can do, what their strengths are, and works with them into a team. Raider legend Tom Flores did the exact same thing.

Josh is like the opposite. He’s trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, and it’s never going to fit. The more you go down this path, the more demoralized the players will feel, the more defeated the team will be. He can blame some players for underperforming, and some have been, Chandler Jones comes to mind. Oddly, Clelin Ferrell is playing slightly better in a reduced role, than under Gruden when he looked like a total bust,. But when the system you have isn’t going to work with your players, you’re cooked.

I remember back when the Bears were successful with the 46 defense, or the Redskins ran over teams with their counter-tray off tackle runs. Those worked great because they were build around the players they had. Other teams mimicked it, and couldn’t make it work. This Raider team isn’t the 2018 New England Patriots, and it never will be.

Luke Parodi

Thought this was gonna start off with “I’ve been fired”

    obrapro

    One can only hope.

    VanCityRaider🇨🇦

Nope. Mark doesn’t have anywhere close to the testicals his Dad did. Al would have stepped in front of this guy when he tried to get on the plane and said “Sorry Kid. You’re fired.”

vl8962

This team can not execute this play book right now… That is a preparation and coaching issue… This team has not bought in at all right now

Crackhead Joe Dirt

How did we go from a playoff team that added the best WR in football, to this?

    Town Bidnezz

    Ownership aswell.

    DAN B

    @Not A Raider YouTuber we?

    Jon L

    Got rid of Rich B. . .

    J R

    @Jon L yup

Joker Productions

I need Vince McMahon to fire this man.

Joker Productions

I legitimately bought an $85 ticket to tour the new stadium last week and I’m thinking of canceling after this last game. Josh McDaniels makes me embarrassed to be a Raider fan. Bring back GRUDEN!

    Jon L

The game’s passed Gruden . Shldve kept Rich B, he gave Carr the reigns and took us to the playoffs. They were having fun playing backyard football, n when you’re having fun you’re winning. Thank God, leatherwood is gone, waste of money, right up there with jabuster russel.

    Phil Anderson

No. Gruden was a blow hard, way overrated. His draft picks, which he and Maycock acted like they were the smartest guys in the room, were mostly mediocre to downright bad, with a few exceptions.

While I liked Rich Bisaccia, and I think the players were motivated to play for him, he leaned heavily on coordinators, and the team would need a really savvy GM and scout squad to go back to him. Still, he’d be better than McDaniels, without question.

    Jackie Chun_420

You should go. Don’t be embarrassed to be a fan, but you should still voice your opinion you have a right to be upset about how the team/coaching is run and all around bad performance by last game but don’t hate on your team like that

    Phil Anderson

@Jackie Chun_420 True. Not every player has given up. Lots of guys still trying, you can cheer for them.

    Joker Productions

@Jackie Chun_420 you’re right. I am still gonna go. That last game was just painful. I’ve seen bad losses over the past 25 years I’ve been a Raider fan, but can’t recall one where we literally didn’t have one moment to cheer for. Just nothing.

Fresh Prince

I trust my guys they work hard. We got great leaders. stfu!! It doesn’t matter your getting blown out by a mediocre team!

Jack Tate

2-5 tells you everything you need to know.

Charles Razo

we heard every excuse in the book for 39 years going on 40

Educated Guess

This guy won’t acknowledge his defense is not improving at all. The offense is handicapped by his play calling. Last year Carr and Renfrow played backyard football and willed their way into the playoffs with the team. This was pure athleticism and heart. Now we have “plays” that are too complicated and take too long to develop. That’s why Carr is stuck in the pocket behind a green offensive line waiting for open receivers instead of rolling out of the pocket.

    Hummer VS

Last 6 games of last season the ENTIRE NFL was talking about the Raiders and how all we needed was offense tackle & guard. Parker/Leatherwood couldn’t protect Carr.
Coach McDonalds comes in and the two he tries to keep? Finally couldn’t deny leatherwood anymore and Parker gets hurt.

Adams wanted to come here anyways before we lost Bisaccia.

Jones is no improvement over Yannick. Now people are realizing it.
What else has he done here?

This guy followed orders good from Brady and his HC. And how many times did Pats fans talk about McDonalds calls getting them jacked but daddy came in and rescued him.

He has sucked afterwards and is not improving. He keeps trying to bring more patriots players here – he obviously hasn’t learned to quit trying to copy the patriot way and players.

    The_7_Wise

I agree with mostly everything you said! Patrick Graham needs to go in my opinion and DC needs more pocket awareness instead of looking nervous when the pocket is breaking down! USE YOUR LEGS!

    Big Ray

    🙌🙌🙌

    Pepe le Biden

Something definitely wrong with Renfrow and this offense. Looks like his rookie season handicapped by Gruden inability to use his skills. Offense took a step back this season

    Roman Rodriguez

We need a new coach and QB

TheHow707

HOW is this man employed at the HIGHEST level in football??!!

    East Bay Original Raider

How is Carr a NFL QB?

    TheHow707

@East Bay Original Raider An even better question!!!! Hang tough Nation, one day we’ll be back…

Pythonx135

The look in his eyes screams “got paid and gave up”

    Jackie Chun_420

    😔

Viaje con Chuck

I really want to believe in JMD. Lord knows I’ve been apologist for Carr for the past 9 years. I think firing a coach yet again is the worst thing to do. Carr has been the common demoninator these past 9 years of subpar play.

    Hummer VS

Oh yeah- and I wear DC jersey game day. And am not afraid to let go of him- if there is someone better available. Not just get someone else. Hell I can throw a football but I would be a nightmare.

Davis messed up not trying Bisaccia. We need improvement- not change. Change is never all you need. Change 5 years in a row being #32 team. Improvement is what is needed. And there are several good coaches available.

    Viaje con Chuck

@Hummer VS Carr’s days are numbered. Hell he had ore time to throw than most qbs in the league. Derek is so stupid, he runs into sacks

    Andrew Herpolsheimer

The common denominator goes well beyond Carr… We’ve had 3 good years in the early 2000s and that’s it since 1984 unfortunately.

    Phil Anderson

I like Carr, love his loyalty to the Raiders, but I don’t think he’s the guy. Too many bad decisions in clutch time. Forces the ball too much after too much split-second hesitation, trying to make magic that isn’t there. He’s good, but not playoff quality, all-pro, MVP candidate good. He never will be. But seeing Jarett Stidham outplay him this past week, and actually look more decisive in the pre-season, was startling. No one really thinks Stidham is a top tier QB, do they?

McDaniels is another story. I don’t know what he can do at this point.

    Phil Anderson

@Viaje con Chuck Holds the ball too long, too indecisive, won’t pull the trigger on easy throws, tries to make plays that aren’t there, this past week threw into triple coverage (resulting into an int. no surprise). In between this, he makes impressive throws showing a good arm, sometimes. And he’s loyal to the team and players like him. But that’s no recipe for winning.

hahah you did it

Listen to his answer.. he literally just said it is what it is.. I can’t be behind this man ! And I feel my team is on the same page..

SP

This is probably the most disappointing season as a Raiders fan since the one after the Super Bowl loss, or the year that we drafted Jamarcus. 🤦‍♂

    Galaxia X

    There’s been many more

    N B

    JaGarbage Russell 🤦‍♂️

Daunte Wimmer

I think the problem with this team really all falls on this guy. Yes the play calling and decision making. But he lacks the heart too. Never see him trying to fire the guys up and motivate em. Never see him look like he’s pissed off or emotional about a loss. Never see him hold just himself accountable. Never see him hold his coaching staff accountable. Always giving these bs copy and paste answers and avoiding tough questions every press conference. This dude is weak on the inside and I believe it’s also one of the reasons this team isn’t playing hard for him. He’s lost the team, he’s lost the fan base. His job should come next…

    KINETICLONEWOLF

    Nothing but facts.

    Phil Anderson

Agree. The Raiders have a long, storied history of having fun, getting plenty of penalties, and playing tough. This team seems miserable, even soft, just like their coach seems.

Pirate1975 ☠️

You could play THIS video after every loss and you have seen ALL the videos after a loss. No facts, no accountability….
This is on Josh 100%
He was supposed to be THE OFFENSIVE GURU!
Compare Raiders & Dolphins off season changes and last season to this season. Should be similar in my opinion…. Raiders are like the shortbus team in the NFL.

greg brayman

Ok when he said “we’re not the only team that loses games” he’s talking about the players reaction to it. He’s not being defensive
