Can a healthy Saquon Barkley still be Giants' franchise RB? | Pro Football Talk | NBC Sports

Big fan

Bärtïër

He is their franchise RB he just needs to get back to 100% health

Dr. Phill

Too much torque for his frame, like Zion and JJ Watt. Being the strongest at runs, cuts, jumps is not what the body needs, yet impressive.

    Dr. Phill

@California Dreaming – Not if he is still on his rookie deal.

Christopher Colasurdo

There’s no longer such a thing as a franchise RB. Draft draft and draft them and never give a second contract.

    Szn

@beefoneeto hindsight is 20/20 but Jonathan Taylor performs like a 2nd overall pick RB. So many teams passed him up now look at him

    beefoneeto

@Szn Saquon had a monster rookie season and a 1000 yd season in an injury season.Taylor is proof that there are guys worthy of a high first rd pick Certainly the teams needing RB that passed on him are regretting it now.

    beefoneeto

@Szn You just made my point.Teams that passed on him in Rd 1 are thinking this guy is a game breaker we should have drafted him. This is a passing phase in football the idea that a great RB should not be taken early.Sentiments change every so often.

    Szn

    @beefoneeto I mean…what was your point exactly?

    beefoneeto

@Szn LOL I think we were in agreement about drafting a RB high in the first round .As you said Taylor was worthy of the 2nd pick.

Dr. Wan PharmD

Daniel Jones must be thrilled to hear that Barkley’s trusting his body again.

TOMIANHO Tom

Drafting a RB #2 was insane

    Szn

    Lmao

    srsh12345

It was a stupid move. I’m surprised Giants didn’t fire him after that draft.

    559bks

No running back should go that high

Rani Asaad

people need to give him the same energy they give zeke. zeke at least had 1k yards last year meanwhile saquon barely plays and sucks when he does

    beefoneeto

Saquon didn’t suck he was injured most of the year.

Glenn Yates

I’ve never wanted a player to succeed and ball out more than Saquon Barkley. Such a great kid.

beefoneeto

Monster season coming up-best OLine he’s ever had.

    Khalifah Muhammad

    I sure hope you’re right.

D D

At least he finally has a chance to ball out with a real coach, a decent play caller, a better O line and hopefully a more balanced offense. Hopefully they can platoon him with Breida to keep his usage rate down at least for the first half of the season.

rdecredico

Welcome to 1986.

Can a fresh doughnut, be breakfast 🍩 ?

Nigel Hornberry

Great running back when healthy. Even more impressive as a physical specimen. There are a few skills I’d like to see him develop. But as a former running back myself, there’s not any genetic endowment I would choose over Saquon’s. Maybe Adrian Peterson, but he never had that next level shiftiness. God idk how you don’t constantly make big plays with him and Toney on the same offense.

Sony Augustin

Dude need a break this coming season 🙏lord God bless u brother 🙏wish you the best and a break out season 🙏

Bill M

Hey Saquon, just play like you did as a kid. Forget injury. Just ball

john moore

He was great Rookie year Hall of Fame then bad breaks!!

john moore

Jones top 10 QB THIS YEAR WATCH!!!

The Drifter

Saquon is motivated this year. He wants to prove something to the world.

akvalues

There is nothing more fun in football then watching a great back!! I wish you kids could have seen E.D. , SWEETNESS, BARRY, CAMPBELL.

M.H
