I feel bad for the victims but I still support 2A rights. The state is going around it the wrong way and not one law they passed has or ever will make a difference to stop criminals.

    @M L hey man I just want background checks lol. Mostly for mental health cases. Because it is people! And those people need help. But just saying anyone should be able to buy multiple guns from a store at any time without a processing time of a couple days for a background check I think would make a difference for cases like this that aren’t at all about defense. It was about hate. And anyone in buffalo that is brave enough to use their firearm to protect their neighbors is a good neighbor in my book. I don’t want to fight you man. If you’re from buffalo youre family.

    @Dan B I understand and agree. However, before this horrible tragedy, I couldn’t do that anyway.

    When I went to purchase my rifle in NY state, I had to undergo a background check. It was that way before NY changed the laws again.

    As far as mental health goes, that is going to be very difficult. Anyone can lie. We cannot force mental health providers to give up lists of their patients because that is a violation of HIPAA. Plus, what counts? NY state has never specified that. They just keep making up vague rules, so that they can deny anyone for any reason.

    NY state gun laws right now are horrible for solving any gun violence.

    They are clearly designed with the intent of satisfying political agendas instead of saving lives. They would pass a law banning white cats if that is what their base voters wanted! Safety is not their aim. It’s votes.

    In the end, the only people that will have licenses, will be the rich & connected, and the government. Everyone else will be left begging the government to come save them, which is basically what is starting to see now!
