We need defense to play big in the playoffs considering how inconsistent we were in the season on D. Without that, we don’t win w/ on top of a depleted offense.

And, not only that, each position group has a different set of stats assigned to it. So, do we give Diggs or TJ Watt the MVP because they led their specific teams with INTs & Sacks, or do we give it every year to the QB who throws for the most Yds? And what if you had a QB who threw for 5,800 YDs one yr & another who threw for 58 TDs? So, your weak argument doesn’t hold up! Usually, but not always, winning and losing is a reflection of VALUE! @Ed Kiely TJ Watt is an outside linebacker. Do me a favor and tell me how many of those have won the MVP in the past? For that matter how many defensive players have won it? I’ll help you out: Two.

Now, how many QBs have won it? Obviously the QB is of more value to the team than any other position – thats why they are paid so much more money. So yes, in all but the rarest of cirumstances the MVP will be a QB. And the most *valuable* QB will invariably be leading the most important stats.

Only when one QB has thrown more yards and another more TDs or less INT can there even be a discussion. Last year Rodgers was the clear leader. This year it’s Brady.

You didn’t say ONLY the stats of a QB are the primary determining factor of value, you just said ‘stats!’ Also, Drew Brees had the best numbers in a few years and didn’t win the MVP! Stats/numbers are not always an accurate reflection of ‘value!’ If they were, then what is good music could always be quantified or foods that taste good! Value has a strong subjective component to it! See ya!

What I love about BA, is he does not let coaching consume his life during the season. Once per week, he shuts down at 5pm to take his wife out, and he tells his coaches to do the same…. He does not sleep in his office and does not stay there until 2am…. He’s a great roll model for young coaches that you don’t have to grind yourself into the ground to be a good coach…

That is, undoubtedly hard to do. But what Aaron Rodgers did this year is even harder to do, his efficiency is unheard of. As the reporter mentioned, he has thrown 20 TDS to 0 Ints in the last 9 games, as he lead his team to the #1 seed in the NFC. Both had amazing seasons, but the odds are Rodgers wins it.
