The change in defense to 2-high is a consequence of quarterback pampering. The rules have made it so that quarterbacks are nearly guaranteed the right to throw the ball without interference. If you even look at them wrong, you will get a penalty. Defenses now must adapt and become primarily anti-air. CB’s and safeties are going to become more and more valuable on draft day. Give it time, and eventually the rules will be changed so that touching another player will be a penalty. We might be throwing sponge flowers at each other. Heck we may not even have players on the line of scrimmage!!! SMH
