Baker Mayfield Postgame Press Conference vs. Steelers | Cleveland Browns – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Typicalgamer 2002

I hate being a browns fan I’m just defeated. Loyalty will never ever pay off it’s just depressing

    Alex S

Loyalty😂, loyalty would be giving a team, teammates and fans your health and money because you know after this year the money he’s gonna get is gonna be a lot lower, but most of you (loyal) fans wouldn’t know about that because 1 season after winning a playoff game for the team that hadn’t won a playoff game in 24 years a banged up qb who obviously played injured is being forced out because you guys are so very very loyal

    Seven Stars of the Dipper

@Alex S You are loyal to Mayfield not the Browns. You can follow him right out of town.

    God is Great

@Alex S you’re obviously not a Browns fan..this fanbase has been through more than any fanbase

    Biff Johnson

I’m bummed out but compared to what it was like a few years ago I am certainly not depressed. This team will be good for the next ten years. This was just a bad year with the Covid thing and Baker getting banged up and just some tough breaks in many games that they could have won.

Vicks Formula 44

I’ve been on the baker out brigade for a year, but I truly felt bad for him tonight. But he’s just not good enough. He’s been overtaken but 2nd year and rookie QBs, while he stagnates. This injured baker bs is ridiculous, yeah he is, but don’t act like he was some superstar prior to this season, he’s a had exciting rookie year, embarrassing 2nd year, really poor star and finished strong and underperformed the first 2 games this season even before he was hurt . Dude is average, that fine but if we want to be taken seriously, average isn’t gonna get you more than a playoff game once every 10 years, we are built to win NOW, can’t waste this young and exciting defense

    Chris

@kevin wiseman That’s how it is for a lot of teams every year; this year included. Teams have backdoors their way into the playoffs and won the superbowl, and other teams have gone 13-3 and had a 2nd round exit after the bye. Your comment is “rubbish”.

    Chris

@El-Canelo It’s a run first offense, and the defense couldn’t get off the damn field on 3rd downs early in the year. We hardly had the ball, and when we did KS plays no attention to.the clock, and runs the ball even when behind by 3 TDs, and goes into half time with all 3 GD timeouts!

    Chris

@kevin wiseman TheBengals spent 2 first round picks on wide receivers in back to back years, one of which was Joe Burrow’ college teammate, which was a smart move by the Bengals. They also have a creative OC, and throw the ball enough that Burrow and his receivers get a ton of confidence in the offense, asit should be. Chase may be the best receiver in the league already, and what do the Browns have at WR? The Browns have still owned the Bengals with Baker at QB though.

    Chris

@ScottCleve33 So a win in the NFL doesn’t really count if there are turnovers involved? Skew the narrative however you want why don’t ya.

    ScottCleve33

@Chris Wins are great. They are of course the goal of playing the game. However one cannot let wins overshadow the negatives. This teams goal is, imagine is still, to win a Superbowl and to do that they need to identify and fix those negatives. A head coach and a GM do not remain a head coach and a GM if they let winning games and making playoffs keep them from seeing those negatives and fixing them.

When determining who says and who needs to be upgraded you can’t let wins and losses cloud you judgment. So if a team wins but needs to score 50 points to do so then you’re offense is doing great. What you cannot do is say “hey. We won so our defense must have done a good job”.

1 more game, and…
1 more season, then…
we’ll know whether Cleveland has a playoff contender for the next 4-10 years or if it’s back to the draft boards… 😔🙏

    Chris Johnson

    @Batgirl P
This season is unfair judgement. Playing with a torn labrum for what 15? 16? Weeks? Then getting his ankle and knee injured in the process probably didn’t help. It probably stings to throw and is probably scared of getting it ruptured even worse because he knows he’s vulnerable every time he’s on field. He deserves another season and if he doesn’t produce well enough next season by the trade deadline then I think we should trade him or cut him or whatever. Either way he deserves another year to prove himself one final time

    William Anthony

@Chris Johnson- The question is, WHY has he been playing for 15 weeks like that? The coach of the year should have sent him off for surgery, and played his high end back-up! Had Keenum been playing this year, it might have been a whole different ball game. Everyone wants to blame Baker Mayfield… But did our offense really play to his strengths this season? And was playing an unhealthy Mayfield a good coaching call? Stefanski basically threw 2021 away. Good for him. Let’s blame Mayfield, and give the Joke Of The Year a pass for NOT making an obvious decision that might have made this season a heck of a lot different!

    Biff Johnson

I’m convinced they will be contenders for the next ten years. Just think what it was like a few years ago with this team. They are in a much better situation now despite what happened this season.

John94709

Sad to say it, but it’s time to call it what it is. The Browns need a QB.

    jay 1988

Browns fans are like abuse victims they’ll keep coming back to Baker and make excuses and say we’ll he’ll change.

    Dem!ze

    Agree

    thefisherman007

They have been saying this for a decade. What new QB are you thinking will change this? It’s hilarious how shortsighted this comment is.

    BushRoD Brown

    💯

Jason Dayee

It is what it is. Infamous last words from Mr.Mayfield himself.

Benn Daniel Vai

He blamed the coach very first sentence. “Not giving the rookie tackle a lot of help”. Man chemistry out of whack in Browns team.

    Strawberry Jam

He’s right ! Any real football person knows it’s Stefanski who has totally destroyed what could’ve been a really good team with his garbage play calling and turning Mayfield into a ineffective pocket passer when he’s clearly a play action QB….and that’s the facts !!!!! No ifs and or buts about it.

    avonbarksdale91

@Grant Stoutenburg he tore his labrum in week 2. And lost his confidence. How do you “fans” not see that?! I guarantee you the browns won’t be running that 3 Te set dominantly next year.

    Grant Stoutenburg

@avonbarksdale91 of course I don’t blame him for that. What some of us don’t like is his attitude and how he’s handling the situation.

    avonbarksdale91

@Grant StoutenburgHe got hurt in a contract year when the team was supposed to be competing for a chip. You don’t think everyone’s frustrated? We all thought our offense was gonna be great because we ran everything back from last year. Sometimes that’s not a good thing. You need to shake things up. Instead baker was never the same after the injury. Our O line was always in a constant change especially at tackle. Kareem and Nick barely got to play together this year. Our best pass catcher is a TE (njoku) but they’d rather scheme the ball to Austin Hooper who won’t be on the team next year and isn’t that good LOL. Wrs are really bad. You’ll see what the browns think of our WR core during the draft. And on top of all of that Stefanski took a step back from last year in his creativity. The offense was bland as hell. But I’m not killing Stefanski for that because it didn’t look bland in the KC game in week 1. BEFORE BAKER TEARS HIS FREAKING LABRUM….

Brandon Campbell

From a Browns fan: Since Week 5, the Browns have scored 23 or more points in 1 GAME this season!!! SMH. #unacceptable #cantblamedefense #ChangebetterCome

    Thats nice.
    Bye Woods✌️✌️

    CCC

@‘ I really don’t think we need a whole team rebuild again. We’ve been down that rabbit hole to many times. But there must be a willingness to change, adapt, and get better from the coaches.

Jeff W.

Thanks for the season Browns. I appreciate you putting your body & mind on the line for us to watch football.

    The Official Green Kane

I mean their paid handsomely to do it. Average game checks 100,000 dollars

2:13 WTH? W T H?!?

Okay, here’s what it comes down to— Mayfield should have been benched weeks ago. His injuries have hurt the team!

Had he been sent off for the needed surgery, he’d be on the mend, and perhaps this team would still be alive.

Nobody cares how “tough” Mayfield is. NOBODY! We want him healthy and productive, end of story.

The coaches and management threw this season away by not benching Mayfield when they should have. It’s hard not to think of them as the “same old Browns,” when they take a good roster, and let them die on the vine like that.

There’s always next year? Screw that! There’s still football to be played….

Go Bengals!

    CCC

I’ll be rooting for the other Brown team in the playoffs, that’s forsure..I hope we do get the series sweep though

    Greg G.

I was with ya til the end

    William Anthony

@Greg G. That was badly written at the end. I should have clarified… (In the playoffs) Go Bengals!

LMAOOOOOO go bengals wth but this was all facts

WgcDs7 JyG

Steelers fan here who has always enjoyed the rivalry between the Browns and Steelers. Baker Mayfield at least made the rivalry interesting again during his first couple years. The guy plays with grit and toughness. Is he the answer at QB? I don’t know. He was injured most of the year. I’d like to see him give it another go with the Browns next year. Give him one more chance.

    CALLME NANCY

Of course a Steelers fan would want Cleveland to keep Mayfield. Baker kept the team back all season long. He is a QB not a Dt, De or any defensive player. He hurt himself and it caused a very promising season to go off the rails. Then you have a coach who inexplicably forgot how to call plays and play to players strengths

    Terrance Mackie

He sucks! Back at the bottom of the division where they use to being. 😀😀😀😀

    C Dot

not a real steeler fan saying that bologna.

    C Dot

this is literally a browns fan saying this, we would never say this.

Pedro Perez

Funny how everyone is jumping off this man’s bandwagon after a season riddled with injuries and still played through the pain and than to be humiliated by your own WRs dad dude was trying the whole time you can only do so much we’re all human better luck next year

    William Anthony

IKR? Maybe the Mayfield haters should start counting the number of catchable passes that were dropped this season. The problem is bigger than Mayfield alone!

Phil Golly G.

Well I hope he decides to go and get healed up. Not sure where the front office sets with him right now but I feel he’ll be back, if he whats to be, next season. My only concern for the Browns are if the owners have the fortitude to stay the course with this front office and head coach. Their record speaks volumes and is of great concern for us Browns fans.

    Phil Golly G.

Oops! I should wait to the end of the video before posting a comment. LOL!

    finance

not even a browns fan, but it shouldn’t worry you. they’ve been plagued with injuries and covid majority of the year. no team can win with all of those things against them, especially when the quarterback is playing injured. it would be stupid as hell to get rid of stefanski and blame this on him either, his scheme is actually really good. baker has to come back because he’s guaranteed $18 million next season.

CCC

Man you ran the ball really well, your toughness and heart show through, thanks for being a brown and turning this organization around and getting us to the playoffs last year. That truck stick at the sideline in the 4th was insane.

    CCC

@Isaac Clinton I’ve called for Stefanskis firing, but honestly it’s a bad idea. I think the way this season ended with a spotlight on his pitiful offense will do more then a rebuild.

    Cliffton Norflet

@RLThunderstruck his mechanics was a problem before the injuries

    Daniel Ouhadi

@Isaac Clinton somebody with Logic thank God. Most browns “Fans” are terrible. Baker turned the franchise around like he said he would. Qb1

    Daniel Ouhadi

@Cliffton Norflet Van pelt literally just said 4 days ago Bakes mechanics are fucked up because of his harness. It affects his accuracy and that’s why he is throwing high.

    Cliffton Norflet

@Daniel Ouhadi bruh I know that but still his mechanics was still a work in progress, but it still was a problem

Edizu Gaming

Crazy how our head coach is the least creative person I’ve ever seen this season. I’ve been a browns fan all my life and can tell you maybe some plays that’ll happen. I am now able to read an entire drive each time they are on the field. Stop passing on 2-4th down. It’s not the browns and we have the best trio Rb the league

Adam Milligan

Keep up the fight Mayfield, your a Dawg by heart, just make sure too heal for the next year, but if ppl got something negative to say. I say your the only QB I’ve ever seen play with a dislocated left arm and still throw with the right ppl don’t understand the pain, but keep fighting DAWG POUND FOR LIFE, WOO WOO WOO

    Anthony

Don’t worry, the rest of the AFC of praying Baker is back with the Browns too. One less team to worry about.

    clmco clmco

@Anthony And what team do you root for? Steeler I bet. Same mentality

Jedidiah

Damn, he got sacked 9 times and was constantly pressured throughout the game and had to deal with receivers dropping easy passes. Even if he didn’t play amazing either, I gotta respect his toughness. Steelers fan here btw…

    fmthebaron

Those receivers were hearing footsteps all game and afraid to catch the ball because it was extremely cold out and they knew the big hit was coming immediately which obviously hurts a lot more when it’s so cold out.

    Knockingouttrees

Think team as a whole! Not individual to judge the whole team. Baker doesn’t want it to be about the Browns nor be mentioned 2nd behind any player. He’s like the third in players ranking of the Browns or lower! Flat out !! Love the Browns and not players ( respect them for what they do playing for your team) Don’t ever rank them 1st before the organization. Because it puts you in a bad situation! He must learn and other players to do your job as best as you can ! This is a job , so pecking order is needed for a great result’s

    Jack Henry

Thank you reasonable person. Baker shouldn’t have even played with his broken arm. I’m excited to see what steelers do with QB position next year. I’m sure they will be lethal as normal very soon

Meg Chelednik

Thanks for hanging in there … 💪💪💪. Don’t think that we don’t see your efforts. You have your whole career ahead of you, and as the mom of a competitive gymnast, I know how an injury can turn a season upside down. Just get healthy. It’ll all turn up after that ☺️🏈

Wild Bill

Great performance Mayfield, it reminded me of the Charlie Frye, Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel games

    OnlyOne Zay

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ryan Tilman

Hey Mayfield we true fans still really love you and we will always love Cleveland you’ve done tremendous job and I hope that you continue to go through this next season and come back even stronger from your injury and just want to know that I’m I’m supporting you I’ve always supported Cleveland and I love you and good luck and happy new year.
