Around The NFL: Where do the Minnesota Vikings Stand Heading into the 2021 NFL Draft? – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE

Stay sleeping 😴

    ian William Brandt

I’m from Germany and all my Family mates who are Football Fans are saying the Vikings are trash and bullshit … but ( only our O-Line not ) we upgraded everything

    RWF1984

Yes, it’s better this way! Vikings seem to do better when people tend to sleep on them.

Brett Holt

These guys are paid to do this and their take is horrible. Our defense has greatly improved since last year. They don’t even mention getting Michael Pierce finally. If Danielle stays here our D is a force. You can’t clearly say the Packers are way ahead of the Vikings logically with our improvements. Only question I have for the team is if our O line is mediocre.

    RWF1984

@Brett Holt 😂 my feelings ain’t close to being hurt! You reaching and are making dumb comments! And say my feelings are hurt but yet I ain’t the one complaining about what the media said! 🤣

    RWF1984

@Brett Holt please read carefully because I said not many have! 😂

    Brett Holt

@RWF1984 Because they sound uninformed. Saying how bad our D was with countless injuries and a ton of offseason pick ups without a single comment on improvement. We will come back to this conversation during the season and see how it aged. Also that Packers team was one of the worst 13-3 teams I can think of in recent memory. You seemed upset because you had no substance behind what you’re saying other than the Packers record. What was that teams record against a bad Vikings team? If the one thing that was holding the Vikings back has improved and the opposite team has done nothing to improve, what does that entail?

    Brett Holt

@RWF1984 How do teams improve in the NFL?

    RWF1984

@Brett Holt Because the D was bad and you can’t really say it’s improved until they show it. Yes, they kind of bypassed Vikings additions, but at the same time, I rather them overlook Minnesota. It seems Vikings do better when they do. Also, you can revisit this conversation at any point of the season because I ain’t dogging Vikings in any way. Just because I think we shouldn’t be considered better than GB at this point in the offseason (key phrase – at this point) and GB could be the worst 13-3 team… but a lot of us said that the season before. So we should respect that by now by doing it back 2 back seasons ending up in the NFC Title game.

How many teams look to improve? All 32! Vikings are not the only ones trying to improve. So with all this said, media please keep overlooking MIN and praise only GB in the NFC North because MIN seems to do better when it’s like that and MIN seems to do not so good when they do. Also don’t want to assume Hunter will be back until he is there on the field week 1. Not because of injury, but the rumors of holdout/trade and we still got the draft to go.

Defense alone resulted in some losses last season. Special Teams played horribly bad in some games. Kirk Cousins is good enough to take the team all the way to a SB. Plenty examples exist in the past of comparable QBs on a SB winning team.

    Johnny Utah

If last years team had a middle of the pack defense they make the playoffs. Colts and Cowboys game are wins.

Johnny Utah

This is a completely different team than last year. The pass rush was non existent and the run stop was horrendous. The good news is they bottomed out on defense. Things can only improve. The draft is going to be what gets this team back in contention. Offensive line is an obvious need. I see them addressing it and possibly trading back into the late first or early second and picking up Moering (Safety). SKOL

Purple in the North

I guess the addition of Pierce, Tomlinson, Hunter, Peterson, Barr, Woods, Weatherly, and Alexander on defense means nothing. It’s going to be a good year clowning the haters.

    Corey Anderson

I don’t get it. Why is it when someone shares an opinion that you hate, they are automatically labeled “haters”? Honestly, their opinion wasn’t unreasonable. The Vikings have regressed since 2017. Are they going to have a good year this year? depends on how you define “good”….Is good 9-8? 10-7?

KnowledgeOfThySelf

Vikings will have a TOP 5 defense this year watch 12-5 NFC NORTH Champs

RYAN SLEYPEN

Our d line is going to be elite next year, dalvin Tomlinson, Michael pierce, Danielle hunter, and we could add edge help in the draft or a damn good offensive lineman too

suckmyjgon

we still need a kicker and better special teams

J J

Thank God for the ladder two guys. Kirk had his best years here and is a massive upgrade to Keenum. And “not a very good supporting cast”? WTF?!

    Art Vandelay

“Ladder.” – LOL The word is “latter!”

Jake Graskey

6 & 6 then the floor caved in?? Yea guy they started out 1-5

braden debolt

I like how Rudolph and jj and thielen and cook isnt a good supporting cast when that got them the #4 offense last year

Johnny Traxler

With wins over Seattle Tennessee and Dallas this would have been a 10 win team and that goes on Cousins and the Defense,I think with a improved Defense and special teams and a quality o.lineman and wide receiver 3 this team can compete with anyone

Dave Barnes Sr.

Every year is the same as far as predictable expectations. I’m not sure why anyone at this point can predict anything because the roster is still in flux and it would be foolish to think that all these free agent signings are going to pay any dividends and any two of them that’s a disappointment coupled by the fact that you have a defensive end coming off a potentially career ending injury and might possibly not be the same guy. It’s all a hypothetical crap shoot at this point. It would be nice to set my expectations higher than a play off appearance and maybe one win before an early playoff exit. I know we are tied for the most Super Bowl loses, but I’m thinking we own the record for the most Conference Championship loses, it’s been a lot, that I know!

Art Vandelay

They have two gaping vacancies on their offensive line, and bad center (Bradbury). Even an old lady with a peg leg could get by Bradbury on the pass rush. That totals 3 vacancies that they have on the offensive line and they have not done a blessed thing to address them. Looking at the bright side, we will be rid of Zimmer by the end of this year, hopefully Spielman, too. All of the receiving weapons on offense mean nothing if Cousins is not afforded pass protection. Dalvin Cook is not a bell-cow back like Derrick Henry, so if the dummy, Zimmer tries to continue using him on every down, Cook is going to get hurt. He’s already proven to be injury-prone. This offensive line gets too much credit for run blocking, but what I saw last year was minimal to no holes, but Cook sacrificing his body and busting through small spaces. That will take its toll injury-wise if he continues to be an every-down back this year. It’s not looking pretty for 2021.

Art Vandelay

Zimmer is their purgatory. He’s supposed to be a defensive guru, but the defense performed terribly last year. Zimmer is supposed to be the cornerback whisperer, but what he whispered in his cornerbacks ears must have been pretty creepy because they didn’t perform well at all. Zimmer’s defense has gotten progressively worse over the past few years and he doesn’t deserve a pass on that. When a coach comes to a team, he’s expected to make them better, not make them progressively worse. Zimmer’s philosophies are too antiquated and his defense too complex, especially for younger players. Maybe that’s why he went and got a bunch of old fart free agents in the offseason?

laughatanything sammi

Prove these goofy analyst wrong again vikings like yall always do in 95% of the stat categories or overall play with a good defense 🔥
