Sirianni builds his offense around his players, McDaniels wants the players to work with his offense. Last year the Raiders had enough leadership in the building to navigate a scandal, a HC resignation, an off-field tragedy, a top player facing decades in prison….that’s what coach Gruden left inside that building. Carr’s comment said it all. You play to execute plays but when you’re told how when where and what to do over and over that gets tiring. That gets old!
This Coach McDaniels literally broke the clarity and passion of playing the game. The Raiders feel smothered with McDaniels convoluted play plan. Which by the way is actually inept!

From 1960-2021 we’ve only lost 5 games when leading by 17 points this year we’ve done it 3 times already. AL would NEVER put up with this

Raiders underperformed in the season after the playoffs in 2017. Went 6-10, finishing 3rd in the AFC West. Mark Davis brought in John Gruden. How a career 500 coach 10 years removed from relevancy was considered a win, I’ll never know. Fact of the matter, Gruden took two full seasons of each prominent player regressing in talent, skills and production. 2 full seasons to get us to 2nd in the Division and 8 and 8.
John’s first season he absolutely submarined the entire team and bought us 4 wins. There are a great amount of parallels between that team and this one.

It’s a very good question. We, all of us fans, asked our TV’s this this year.
Why are we watching another coach blow up a season and the entire careers of players?
I’ve never been so disappointed in my team as I am now. What a way to throw away a season.

I agree w Big Ray. After 9 years of “rebuilding”, what do we have to show for it: 2 wild card games. Now, Davis is all in on Josh McDonalds and I have a feeling he’s going to clean house next year and we’ll be in rebuilding mode all over again. Maybe we’ll make another wild card game by 2030.
