I called my dad the night we drafted him…i told him he will get a gold jacket in Canton when he hangs it up. They could have messed this pick up, but he was clearly the best player in the draft.

It still blows my mind that the Raiders passed on him for Clelin Ferrell. I understand what Mike Mayock is trying to build, in terms of high-character guys (which Clelin most certainly is), but Josh Allen is an extraordinary talent that just doesn’t come around very often.
An absolute steal for the Jaguars with the #7 pick! The only issue going forward is how they treat their players, and more importantly how they keep them. This is one of the most dysfunctional franchises in all of football, and it’s because the players don’t trust those making decisions in the slightest.
Doug Marrone has to go, and so does Dave Caldwell. Gardner Minshew is also not the answer long-term at Quarterback. If I’m Jacksonville, I’m doing everything in my power to restore this defense to its former glory and adding pieces in next year’s draft in an effort to draft either Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields.
Management needs to get their act together before then and recognize that they lack stability, and do everything in their power to convince all the young talent currently on their roster that they do intend on competing for a Super Bowl within the next three years. Otherwise, you’re just going to continue seeing this same revolving door effect where great players like Josh Allen come through while the Yannick Ngakoue’s of the world leave.
